Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The final contracted equipment was not deliveredReplacing installed generator in the shed built around it will increase damagesThe 30K or so plus $2k or so in shipping has not be refunded and we do not trust vendor to refund and make good other damagesIf Revdex.com does not resolve we will bring suit in FL

The customer came in for an open frame 80 KW in Dec of 2014 which is listed on our website as a Bare Bones generator with a 1000 gallon tank. He had an electrician call out a separate ATS box.  The dimensions, size of the generator, size of the tank, engine size, and alternator were changed...

many times during the 6 month period. We called out different engines and alternators of which he first wanted a 4 cylinder then he did not want the bigger six cylinder engine because it burned too much fuel. We settled on the smaller 6 cylinder engine with an Alternator that could get as close to 150KW prime and not burn the fuel. The tank was changed many times and he then wanted special features on the tank for fuel cleaning. During this process we dealt with his contractor who was trying to meet code which was in conflict to what the customer wanted. The contractor was trying to get most out of the space. He came to us on many accusations requesting us to move the generator forward and backwards on the tank while changing the engine and alternator sizes. These size changes effected where things were to be placed on the generator. The tank then was changed many times and the alternative tank was changed many times. He want 600 gallon tank with a certain height restriction. The tank code listed dual wall which increased the width of the tank to meet the code while up against a height restriction. When the generator arrived he was not happy with the way the tag listed the generator. We had loaded tested the generator to reach 142KW prime. We discussed it with the factory. His electrician did not like the way the box was because it would not meet the local code. They did not like the 800 amp breaker saying the house breaker was 600AMPs. The house breaker was never discussed with us. That was handled by their electrician who used another ATS box. We then hired a local firm upon the customers request to rewire and provide a breaker box.  This was in an attempt to satisfy the customer. The customer feels we are in breach of a contract that was ever changing due to the contractor, electrician and the customers demands. The breaker was not listed in the request and we did it as a good will gesture to meet customer concerns. We have offered to take the generator back and give the customer a refund. Since the beginning we have been put in the middle of what the customer wants verses build requirements and local coding restrictions. During this time we purchased another alternator to meet the first request and then later changed. We are on the hook for that alternator with our supplier. At this point we have requested the generator be returned and we will give the customer a refund for the generator. [redacted]

A postscript to my review of 9/8/16. Today I received the new oil pressure sensors I tried to buy from Affordable Generators in August. So far I haven't been charged for them. In all fairness they did finally respond.

This business has very good prices on their products but you get what you pay for. Assembly of my product was poor. (Perkins 28 KW Genset in enclosure). Nuts and bolts missing and/or loose. Engine offset by several inches in the cutout for the radiator. Leaks in diesel fuel return line as well as the water heater unit. Oil pressure sensor is bad and causes the unit to shut down. Sent inquiries on tracing the oil pressure problem as well as leaving voice mail messages. Tried to buy two new sensors on their website which they ignored. Maybe they are out of business. I don't know. No one responds regardless of how I have tried to contact them. Owners John K[redacted] and Warren G[redacted] are totally non responsive. Wished I had bought from another supplier. Poor poor service
