I've been recommended to affordable glazing by a friend and I am so happy with the service and the out come result.. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to reglaze their tub and make it look like new.. Excellent service!!!

Review: Affordable Glazing originally reglazed my bathtub on July **, 2012 for a total fee of $354. The invoice indicated that the glazer, [redacted], was to remove the old paint from the tub before reglazing to allow the glaze to adhere to the surface properly. Instead, the item "old paint removed" was crossed out and that part of the job was not completed. In June of 2013, blue splotches suddenly appeared on the glaze where the glaze was weak and did not adhere properly to the bathtub's surface. Although the invoice stated a one-year warranty and their website assured customers that their satisfaction was guaranteed, Affordable Glazing charged me an additional $150 to reglaze the tub in the summer of 2013. However, rather than sanding the tub down and redoing the job properly, the glazer merely retouched some areas. Glaze began peeling off right away. Affordable Glazing's dispatcher and [redacted]'s [redacted], [redacted], informed me that [redacted] would return to sand down the tub completely and "start from the beginning" during his last visit on September *, 2013. But when [redacted] returned, he said that sanding down the tub would take too long. Again, he merely applied glaze without prepping the surface properly. The tub clearly should have been sanded as [redacted] instructed. I noticed a rough patch on the floor of the tub when I took a shower after waiting 4* hours as instructed after his visit. I hoped it was roughness that would dissipate over time, as explained by Affordable Glazing's information sheet and [redacted]. The glaze began peeling from that weak patch in large sheets on September **, 2013.

On October *, 2013, I emailed Affordable Glazing two photos of my peeling bathtub taken on September ** and October *. Since [redacted] yelled at me the last time we spoke and said that I should never contact him again, I passed the matter along to my boyfriend, [redacted], and mentioned this in the same email. [redacted] emailed [redacted] on October * and again on October * in attempts to resolve this matter. He did not receive a reply.

[redacted] spoke to [redacted] and [redacted] regarding this issue on October **, 2013. At that time, [redacted] yelled at [redacted] and did not acknowledge that the glaze failed to adhere to the tub surface properly. [redacted] offered to either redo the job or submit a full refund ($354 for the original job covered under a one-year warranty + $150 for his first return visit). Given that the glaze is still peeling off my bathtub after multiple visits, we concluded that a refund would be the best solution for everyone involved. [redacted] attempted to reach out to [redacted] regarding this refund again on October **, October **, October **, and October **. He received no response to any of these emails. [redacted] also called Affordable Glazing several times. He was told that [redacted] was away, then that [redacted] no longer works there.

On November **, I sent Affordable Glazing two photos of my bathtub taken on October **. These photos show peeling layers of the glaze from this summer, as well as the glaze from last summer chipping away around the drain to reveal the original tub surface. If the glaze had adhered properly with no weak spots, blue splotches wouldn't have appeared this June and the original tub surface wouldn't be showing now. The photos clearly show that the new glaze applied this year is a darker color than the glaze applied last summer, even though [redacted] told me they've been using the same shade of white for many years. Clearly, the glaze most recently applied was not only applied improperly, its quality was also compromised. I summarized the issues again and reminded [redacted] that his company agreed to submit a full refund on October **. The invoice from the original reglazing job on July **, 2012 was also attached. The one-year warranty is clearly visible in the memo section. Since the blue splotches appeared in June 2012, the weak areas of the original glazing should have been covered under this warranty. Yet I paid an additional $150 on August ** to have the tub reglazed. However, [redacted] merely reglazed certain areas of the tub, rather than sanding it down, priming, and reglazing the entire tub as he was required to do. That is why glaze began peeling off a few days after his visit. I again inquired about the status of the full refund and informed [redacted] that I would be submitting a formal complaint to the Revdex.com if I did not hear back from him. [redacted] also said that we would be filing a formal complaint with the Revdex.com when he spoke to and emailed Affordable Glazing in October. In addition to this comprehensive email to Affordable Glazing on November **, I also called them. No one answered, so I left a voice message.

I received no response to my call or email of November **. I proceeded to email and call Affordable Glazing every single day thereafter for a total of five consecutive days of attempted communication. I emailed and called them on November **, November **, November **, and November **. I received no response to any of these emails or voice messages. Every time I called Affordable Glazing's two main numbers or [redacted]'s cell phone, no one answered.

My email of November **included some information found on Affordable Glazing's website regarding peeling glaze. The contents from their Q&A section were as follows: "Q: My previously refinished tub is peeling? What can I do? A: A peeling surface means that the previous contractor took shortcuts and cut corners when doing the work. Those shortcuts mean a weak bond between the refinishing material and the surface of the porcelain sink or fiberglass shower. You can be sure that will not happen with us – we are meticulous in our preparation, and that means that the bond is super strong and airtight. We do not cut corners, and we do not take shortcuts that could compromise the quality of the finished product." Therefore, Affordable Glazing acknowledges that they did not apply the glaze to my bathtub properly, which prevented the glaze from adhering to the surface as they indicated it would, right on their own website.

On November **, I sent a final email to Affordable Glazing in one last attempt to resolve this matter. I wrote that in an effort to resolve this matter amicably and in the best interest of everyone involved, I've attempted to reach out to them several times via email and phone with no response. Therefore, if I did not hear back from them by close of business on November **, I would be forced to file a formal complaint of Affordable Glazing with the Revdex.com. As I still have not received a response regarding the status of this pending refund, I am now filing this formal complaint with you.

All of the emails, photos, and invoices mentioned in this complaint are available upon request. Please let me know if you'd like any of these items forwarded.Desired Settlement: I am requesting a full refund in the amount of $504 ($354 from July **, 2012 plus $150 from August **, 2013) that was verbally promised by [redacted] to [redacted] on October **, 2013. Your assistance in securing this refund would be greatly appreciated.
