Affordable Housing Center - A Non Profit Agency Reviews (2)

One of our drop containers was delivered to this residence and during this delivery, I clearly stated what was acceptable and what was not acceptable to have loaded into this container The homeowner stated that he understood My paperwork says that there is to be no brick, block, dirt, rocks, or shingles placed in to the containerI told them that the trailer could not be overloaded, because in the past, this has happened and I had to unload some of the contents to be able move the trailer He said that he understood and would not want that to happen When I arrived to pick up the trailer, it was loaded so heavy that the trailer was sitting on the axle and it could not be moved unless some of the contents were unloadedThe homeowner apologized about the issue at hand I feel that the homeowner and the contractor must have had a miscommunication, because the trailer was loaded with an extreme amount of finely broken grout (which is the same consistency as dirt and rocks, which is prohibited on the trailer)The trailer has a thick, wire mesh flooring which does not allow for such material; but to accommodate the material they loaded, several pieces of large, black plastic were placed on the floor of the trailer to hold the debris To me, this was unacceptable on their part I did have to unload items from the trailer, so that some of the weight was lifted off of the axle, in order to move it and haul the materials to the county landfillI am sorry for the inconvenience of having to leave items in their yard, but this was clearly communicated prior to this occurrence I do not feel that there should be a refund, when I explained what was acceptable for this trailerThis is not a hydraulic lift trailer, everything loaded had to be unloaded by handImaging unloading a trailer of finely broken grout by hand......I understand that they are upset, but we were extremely upset about the contents of this trailer and the tremendous amount of work it took to unload itAs I said before, I feel that this is more of an issue between them and the contractor

One of our drop containers was delivered to this residence and during this delivery, I clearly stated what was acceptable and what was not acceptable to have loaded into this container.  The homeowner stated that he understood.  My paperwork says that there is to be no brick, block, dirt,...

rocks, or shingles placed in to the container. I told them that the trailer could not be overloaded, because in the past, this has happened and I had to unload some of the contents to be able move the trailer.  He said that he understood and would not want that to happen.  When I arrived to pick up the trailer, it was loaded so heavy that the trailer was sitting on the axle and it could not be moved unless some of the contents were unloaded. The homeowner apologized about the issue at hand.  I feel that the homeowner and the contractor must have had a miscommunication, because the trailer was loaded with an extreme amount of finely broken grout (which is the same consistency as dirt and rocks, which is prohibited on the trailer). The trailer has a thick, wire mesh flooring which does not allow for such material; but to accommodate  the material they loaded, several pieces of large, black plastic were placed on the floor of the trailer to hold the debris.  To me, this was unacceptable on their part.  I did have to unload items from the trailer, so that some of the weight was lifted off of the axle, in order to move it and haul the materials to the county landfill. I am sorry for the inconvenience of having to leave items in their yard, but this was clearly communicated prior to this occurrence.  I do not feel that there should be a refund, when I explained what was acceptable for this trailer. This is not a hydraulic lift trailer, everything loaded had to be unloaded by hand. Imaging unloading a trailer of finely broken grout by hand......I understand that they are upset, but we were extremely upset about the contents of this trailer and the tremendous amount of work it took to unload it. As I said before, I feel that this is more of an issue between them and the contractor.
