First of all, Affordable-Movers.net, shows a banner displaying they are Revdex.com Accredited, which it appears it not true Secondly, I spoke with a customer service rep/sales rep named *** and he sold me on their quick delivery He said their drivers will travel up to miles a day, so I should have my stuff in 2-days He also promised that there wouldn't be a shuttle service because they own 26' trucks The day they came to pick up my stuff, they showed up in an wheeler, not the 26' as discussed Also, it's going on weeks from when they picked up my stuff, and I've called them half a dozen times in the past weeks and they can never tell me where my stuff is Their contract claims the delivery can exceed days in certain circumstances, but that those circumstances would be communicated Not once have I received a call from them giving me any type of update I continue to get told by Dispatch (I primarily spoke with***) that they'd reach out to their supervisor and get me an update Not once have I received said update Beginning to believe I will never again see the stuff that they are "moving"

This company assured me that my belongings would be moved from Florida (Gainesville) to California (Oakland) and that when I called for it they would deliver it to where ever in the Bay Area I settled After arriving in California and requesting my belongings months after the pickup date I was told that my belongings were stored somewhere in Georgia Fine, would they be moving it across country? Not until I paid the storage fee for July (I advised them on July 1st that I wanted my belongings delivered) This company does not pro-rate storage I would have had to notify them of where I wanted my belongings delivered by June 20th if I wanted to avoid paying for July as well I found this to be unreasonable and wanted to discuss it with a manager Apparently I've incurred an $"dispute fee" for pushing back on their pro-rate policy, and they have not contacted me to resolve my concern According to the contract I have a $late fee after days, $after days, and so on My concern is that every time I've interacted with people from this company it has cost me more money- from the revision of the original estimate of the move (4,up to 6,900), to an additional month of storage since I didn't sign a lease until the end of June ($up to $954), to the cost of complaining about it (only $85...a bargain), and late fees if I don't just suck it up and pay them today After all, they have all my belongings and I signed their contract (if I hadn't I would have overrun my old lease in Florida)This concerns Affordable Movers (US DOT: XXXXXXX)I would not use them again

On July 12 I spoke to [redacted] about making a reservation to have my belongings packed, loaded on a truck and delivered from Maryland to Indiana. [redacted] took my $1000 deposit and assured me that someone would call me by Saturday the 16th to let me know if they could come for pickup on the 17th or 18th and what time. Now, Saturday came and no one called. I called [redacted] back and he assured me he would check on it and call me back. No call back. I called a few more times and even requested a refund of my deposit so that I could choose another company. I sat at home all day July 18 which was my birthday because I kept being assured I would receive a phone call and they would be showing up. After requesting a refund I finally get a call from a driver around 7pm on the 18th saying he was on his way. No way. Unacceptable. I was not willing to start a pack and move that late at night. So they agreed to come 9am on July 19th. They showed up at noon. They told me it would take 3-4 hours to pack and move my 2 bedroom apartment and that there would be 3 movers. There were 2 movers and they took 6.5 hours. I was assured by [redacted] and by the driver of the moving truck that my things would begin delivery the very next day after pickup. 2 days later I called customer service and they weren't able to give me any information on my belongings. No one could or would tell me where my items were, estimated date of delivery or anything. Instead they tried to tell me I hadn't filled out the proper paperwork for long distance delivery. This was a lie because that form was included with the paperwork from the driver and we made sure it all was filled out before he left. This paperwork also included my credit card info (which has been charged for $3300) so it's weird that they didn't receive the long distance form but you got the credit card form. Yeah ok. So anyway since the 21st I have called so many times I've lost count. Each person has assured me they would check on my delivery and call me back. No one ever calls back. Each representative loves to reference this 21 day thing. You can tell that's the narrative they've been trained to use. Yes moving companies have up to 21 days to deliver your goods IN THE EVENT OF EXTREME CIRCUMSTANCES WHICH WOULD THEN BE COMMUNICATED TO THE CUSTOMER. These people have communicated absolutely nothing to me. I have no idea where my things are, when they will show up or anything. These people have EVERYTHING I own and treat me as if I'm causing a problem by inquiring about my belongings. For the amount of money I've paid, I could have done this myself with a [redacted] for half the price and I would have my belongings with me. I went with a moving company for the convenience and this process has proven to be the most inconvenient. I have a child with special needs and it has already been stressful enough to move from Maryland to Indiana and for him to not have his bed or television or the rest of his toys and clothes is taking a toll on him. He doesn't understand and I don't know how to explain it to him. I am almost to the point of telling them to keep the stuff and just cut me an insurance check and I'll buy new stuff. As of today it's been 7 days since they've picked up our belongings and no one can so much as update me on where it's being held. The 21 day rule applies to extraneous circumstances that is by no means an excuse to house my items somewhere (unbeknownst to me) until you get ready to deliver. I would never recommend this place to anyone. As a matter of fact this place has put such a bad taste in my mouth I don't recommend moving companies PERIOD. It's worth doing the work yourself. Trust me. The last time I called (July 25th) I was assured (for about the 6th or 7th time now) that someone would call me back with an update. No one EVER calls back. For some reason I'm being treated as if my belongings are theirs and I'm bothering them by asking about it. They're acting like since they picked my stuff up that it's theirs now and they do what they want with it. It's extremely unprofessional and inconvenient. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. SAVE YOURSELF SOME ANGUISH.

Company damaged outside stair in moving my son from [redacted]. Landlord took $100.00 off son's security deposit. Would like Co. to reimburse the $100REGARDING ORDER NO: XXXXXX.DAMAGE TO PROPERTY at ADDRESS OF ORIGIN. I paid for my son's move from [redacted] to [redacted] The movers arrived Friday 7/1/2016, to the [redacted] address to do a COMPLETE move. The DAY PRIOR, Thursday, 6/30/2016, my son's landlord and my son did a complete walk-thru of both the outside and inside, and agreed upon a return of $845.00 in Security Deposit to my son via check the following week. The NEXT DAY, Friday, 7/1/2016, in the process of moving, one of the movers KNOCKED A HOLE in the OUTSIDE BOTTOM STAIR leading up to the inside of the house. My son mentioned this to me that evening, and said he hoped the landlord would not take any additional monies from the security deposit. On Friday, 7/8/2016, my son received his security deposit check from the landlord, but it was NOT $845.00 as agreed upon. It was $745.00, with a note that an addition $100.00 had been removed to pay for the damages to the outside step caused by the movers. I contacted Mr. [redacted] on Monday, 7/11/2016, by phone, and relayed this information to him, and asked that Affordable Movers kindly reimburse the $100.00 caused by their movers. He initially stated that his company WAS NOT LIABLE for ANY DAMAGES caused by the movers to the property!! Then he asked me to send him the picture, which I did, in an email to him, on 7/11/2016. I have called him several times since then over the past 2 days (today is 7/14/2016), but the phone goes to his voice mail, and he has not returned my call or answered the email I sent him. I believe Affordable Movers should reimburse the $100.00 caused by THEIR movers to the outside step of this property.Desired SettlementI would like Affordable Movers to reimburse the $100.00 in damages that my son's landlord took out from the previously (day before) agreed upon Securiy Deposit of $845.00 When my son received his Security Deposit check on Friday 7/8/2016, it was NOT for the $845.00, but was for $745.00, with a note from the landlord that the extra $100.00 was to repair the outside stair hole caused by the movers, which WAS NOT THERE the day prior, when the landlord did the walk-thru with my son.More info from consumer:On July 20,2016, I was contact by Mr. [redacted] CEO of Affordable Movers, with the intent of his wanting to resolve the issue about the damage to the outside step caused by the movers. We were able to resolve this, and he has gone above and beyond what I asked for in resolving this issue. He is issuing me a check, and sent me a picture of the check being issued. I am MORE THAN SATISFIED with this resolution, and can close out this file. I no longer have any complaints with Affordable Movers, and am very happy with how this turned out. Thank you.

This moving company still has all of my belongings after more than a month. Our move from NC to CA with "Affordable Movers"1. May 27-May31: Spoke with [redacted] ([redacted]) sales, who indicated that there would be no problem with us providing them a specific destination address after the truck had begun the journey from NC to CA, as long as the final destination was within 50 miles of our stated city, San Mateo. [redacted] also indicated that all trucks would be branded with the Affordable Mover's logo/name (since they are not merely a broker). [redacted] also indicated numerous times that the delivery window was June 17-20th for when the truck would arrive with our items in CA. 2. May 31st: Signed the contract and sent it back to Affordable Movers. Agreed pickup date window of June 2-3rd when we spoke to [redacted]. Sent the deposit. 3. June 3rd: Affordable Movers notifies us via phone that they would not pick up our items on June 2 or 3. They stated they were having "truck issues" and would need to come on June 5th.4. June 5th: Movers picked up the items. Another portion of the contract was paid to the moving company. The movers used an unmarked vehicle. No further address was requested from the movers. 5. June 14-15th: Numerous calls go unanswered during my attempt to get a status of where the shipment was. After getting ahold of somebody, was told that they "check with their dispatch department" and give me a call back. I never received calls back. 6. June 16th: I received call back from moving company indicating that our items never shipped because of a previously unmentioned form called the "Long Distance Information Form." We were not told this information at any point during the process. Our items are now being stored in Raleigh, NC. I asked the moving company if they would release my items to another moving company and issue us a refund. [redacted] ([redacted]), who heads the dispatch department at Affordable Movers, told me "absolutely not."7. June 17th: I receive, via email, the Long Distance Information Form to us on 6/16 and we filled it out and sent it back to them asking for a delivery date of June 20th. We were told California orders were being packaged up that day or early the next week and our items should ship soon and should be delivered in 12-20 business days. This same day, I called the US DOT/FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and filed a formal complaint against Affordable Movers. The Complaint ID is [redacted]. 8. June 21st: [redacted] and I called Affordable Movers for a status on the shipment of our belongings. We were told they still had not shipped and that they were due to be delivered to us in California around July 5th. [redacted] in sales, [redacted] in the Customer Service Department, and [redacted] in the Operations department (answering on behalf of [redacted]) each told us the date of July 5th.9. June 30th: [redacted] emailed Affordable Movers for a status update and received no response. 10. July 1st: I called the Dispatch extension at Affordable Movers. [redacted] in Customer Service answered and told me that our items still had not shipped even though they were due to be in about 4 days or so from this point. When I pressed for a delivery date window she told me she could not give me one and that she had no idea. She said they are "waiting for an available truck," and stated she would call back with more details, but refused to tell me when our items would be shipped or delivered. I called the FMCSA to get an update on our complaint and I was told that our 6/17 complaint was validated and is being actively investigated. I'm not sure what this investigation entails, but I was told they may/may not contact me by phone with more details. NOTE: our official delivery address has been updated to [redacted] which we populated on June 17th on the Long Distance Information Form. Desired SettlementAny of the following would be acceptable:Finish the contract by shipping our belongings to our new address. Provide a full reimbursement for all of our belongings that we do not have.

After arriving in California and requesting my belongings 2 months after the pickup date I was told that my belongings were stored somewhere in Georgia. Fine, would they be moving it across country? Not until I paid the storage fee for July 2016 (I advised them on July 1st that I wanted my belongings delivered). This company does not pro-rate storage. I would have had to notify them of where I wanted my belongings delivered by June 20th if I wanted to avoid paying for July as well. I found this to be unreasonable and wanted to discuss it with a manager. Apparently I've incurred an $85 "dispute fee" for pushing back on their pro-rate policy, and they have not contacted me to resolve my concern. According to the contract I have a $35.00 late fee after 5 days, $55.00 after 10 days, and so on... My concern is that every time I've interacted with people from this company it has cost me more money- from the revision of the original estimate of the move (4,500 up to 6,900), to an additional month of storage since I didn't sign a lease until the end of June ($477 up to $954), to the cost of complaining about it (only $85...a bargain), and late fees if I don't just suck it up and pay them today. After all, they have all my belongings and I signed their contract (if I hadn't I would have overrun my old lease in Florida). This concerns Affordable Movers (US DOT: XXXXXXX). I would not use them again.","neg-2

Failure to pick up the furniture within the allotted time frame. Failure to respond in an appropriate time frame. I had picked this company as it was listed as a local mover for Pittsburgh, PA. I did not realized that they are NOT local for Pittsburgh. It also showed A+ rating on their page. Customer reviews were positive. I had apparently looked at their website prior to be being told to remove their logo. Apparently, it was false advertising and I never would have picked them. I trusted that the company was honest which any normal, honest person would do. I was given a window of 4 days for the pickup. I was first told that the pickup would be on Sunday, Aug 2 and that I would be called 2 hours prior to their arrival. No one called. I had placed numerous calls and left messages as there was no one to speak with. I also went onto their website and initiated a chat. [redacted] finally called me back mid afternoon and I was informed that I was not scheduled for Sunday and he wanted to know who told me that. Then after numerous calls on Monday, I received a call back that my pickup was on Wednesday, August 5 between 9-1p. No calls. No truck. I made numerous calls and was given multiple extensions and numbers to call including the driver. I was finally able to speak with the driver who informed me that he was delayed.. He offered 7-8 at night with another driver or whatever but that he would definitely make it on Thursday at 10am. No show. Multiple calls. I was told that he would be later closer to 1p by someone in the office. I received a call later from the driver who wanted to delay it further. I told him that today was the day and that I could not leave the house without a pickup. He had suggested that I get someone to stay at my apartment so that I could leave to [redacted]. I told him no. I told him that someone is renting the apartment after I leave. I asked for a call back from [redacted] but I have not received a call. I am still in Pennsylvania after multiple, inappropriate delays. I gave my zip code for the address that I am moving to. I would like a call back from [redacted] or whoever the owner is and appropriate compensation. At this point, due to my start date for work in [redacted], I have been unable to get another moving company at this short notice.Desired SettlementPick up and appropriate financial credits.

I have been lied to repeatedly saying someone would contact me about my belongings. This company picked up my belonging with all my apartments things from va late and is not responding on when my packages will be delivered. I dont know if I need to get cops involved or continued to be lied to and take a gamble. Desired SettlementI would like my belongings

Residence move from Texas to North Carolina resulted in multiple damage along with missing articlesOur Long distance move was from [redacted] Texas to [redacted] North Carolina. The move was a full pack by Affordable Movers which consisted of a 2450 sq. ft. two story home to a one story home in North Carolina. The movers which consisted of 2 individuals who arrived on Friday June 17th late in the afternoon and stated that additional help was on the way. No one else assisted for the two day pack. As soon as they arrived before they did a complete walkthrough they informed me that the original estimate was wrong and the cost would increase by an additional 350 cubic feet for a total of 2500 cubic feet. We had supplied a detailed list of the articles to be moved including descriptions and dimensions to the moving company. The methods that were used to pack were in my opinion unprofessional with little care for the articles being packed. The paper used to wrap the articles was dirty and molding causing us to wash everything when it arrived. They also had insufficient materials to pack such as wardrobe boxes and ending up stuffing the clothes into anything available. We had to request that the boxes be marked once packed to state what room they originated from to make the unpacking a bit easier. They finished the loading late Saturday evening around 11:00 pm.The first date for delivery was July 6th and after numerous phone calls they arrived on July 14th after three weeks in storage. Again the unloading of the articles was very unprofessional taking no precaution with our new residence. We now have scratches, gouges in our new hardwood floor along with damage to our walls from the movers. The breakage was significant with furniture scratched, glassware broken, patio furniture broken and items missing... a 32 inch flat screen TV along with an autographed frame picture was never delivered. My other 32 inch Sony Flat Screen TV monitor was broken along with my stereo receiver. I submitted over 100 pictures of damage to the moving company with no response. Additionally all of our clothes needed to be washed and/or dry-cleaned because of an odor which permeated our clothes. The moving company was extremely difficult to contact and the only way to reach them after the contract award was to have them believe I was a new customer. This was not our first move, however, this ranks as the worst moving company I have ever had to deal with after contract awardDesired SettlementLocate or replace missing items as well as compensation for items that were damaged

My complaint is in reference to the following order number [redacted] Transportation Cost based on 1534 cf. @ a Rate of $5.95 per cf $9127.30 Origin/Destination Fee $175.00 Book today discount - $650.00 Basic Valuation Protection:$0.60 per lbs. per article Binding Estimated Total Cost $8652.32 Upon day of pickup the crew foreman started the packing procedure and after getting nearly a third of my large furnishing into the driveway he came back to say that my load exceeded my estimated and the new load total was 2050 cubic feet, not having any other option I felt hostage and agreed to pay the additional $3,160.18 USD my furnishing were then uploaded to the truck and the crew foreman upon completion of the two day load requested that I tip his crew as a form of payment, I stated that this did not seem normal and rejected his request. Three months later is when I think everything went wrong a couple of days past the original 45 days of storage I had to pay an addition $1025 USD, once paid I scheduled my shipment for delivery given the 1-21 day time frame I didn't think I would run into any problem specifically coming in from Florida storage location, however the delivery only took three days from order date as the driver called me on the 16th that delivery would take place on the 17th which left me in a bind as we did not close escrow which was originally scheduled for the 19th, the driver said he couldn't wait an I should contact the main office for redelivery, which I did and the charge me an additional 2300 for redelivery and 350 for storage, after payment was given, I submitted a new delivery date for 30th April, however the mover did not show and at around 4 PM that afternoon I was told there was issue with the truck, this transpired for total of six days and upon delivery 30% of all large items came unwrapped and had significant damage even the delivery agents found that the items were mistreated, a claim is being submitted however it is clearly negligent on the part of affordable movers.Product_Or_Service: Moving servicesOrder_Number: [redacted]Account_Number: [redacted]Desired SettlementI would like to have my furnishing returned in the manner they left my house since that cannot happen I would like to be reimbursed to the original quotation so that would mean $3160.18 USD plus be reimbursed the redelivery and storage feeds of $2650.00
