Affordable Movers

DON’T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!! Not only is the owner, Johnny ***, unprofessional, he is an absolute low life! We originally scheduled our move with Awesome Moving (don’t call them either), but on the morning of the move Johnny called to say that Calvin of Awesome Moving had passed the job on to him. With such short notice we didn’t have much choice but to but have Affordable Moving moves us. The problem started the evening after the move when I could not find my Samsung tablet that my daughter had left on the sofa. I called Johnny and he claimed he didn’t know anything about it, that his crew wouldn’t have taken it, and even suggested that I made up the missing tablet to try and get some money out of him. I hung up on him when he started yelling at me. I thought it was all done but later that night, around midnight, Johnny texted me and said that if I posted any negative reviews, he would tell everyone that he found drugs in my apartment. So not only is he claiming no responsibility for my missing property, now he is using threats to try and intimidate me! I have screenshots of his texts, so respond if you would like to see them.

We made the mistake of hiring these people because we thought it was a good deal. First off, they were late getting to the "move from" location. One load was made and they had to make a second trip. One of their guys told my husband that we should used our truck and trailer to move my husband's toolboxes(which by the way, my husband helped them load) . We have some shrink wrap from a previous move and they picked it up and put it with their stuff, but my husband saw them do it and questioned them about it and they put it back with our stuff. Then when they got back with the second load, they were trying to just leave stuff sitting in the yard. Then they neglected to tell me that they didn't take credit/debit cards so I had to go to the store and pull money out. I asked them that night for a receipt, and they said that they would give me one the next day. Two days later, I still hadn't gotten the receipt, so I texted him and he said that they had worked all day the day before, but he would be sure to get me one on Monday. On Tuesday I called him because I had still not gotten the receipt and was very rudely rushed off of the phone and then was sent a text immediately afterward that if I sent my e-mail address he would send it right then. I provided my e-mail and now this is Thursday...almost a week from the time I paid them and I have yet to get a receipt. They have been very unprofessional and I regret EVER hiring these guys!! BE WARNED!!! The only reason that I am giving them1 star is because it won't let me post until I do, but I would give them NEGATIVE stars many times over.

I used the Affordable Movers at 5010 Concord Street. The price changed from what was quoted to what that charged the day of the move. But the worse part was items were destroyed and items came up missing. I hope nobody else uses this company since I am afraid they will also be cheated. I was told they are out of business otherwise I would be filing a police report instead of just warning others.
