I told the shipper before picking up the freight on the phone pallet up to 1,lbs and inches in height.$for the shipping and $for picking up the goods back to my warehouse put the pallet togetherand have trucking co pick up the shipmentday after the shipment arrived at my warehouse I called [redacted] and explained to her she had to much for a reg 48x48pallet that we need to break it in to pallets of use a oversize one it would increase the cost by $400.00.She was not happy and agreed to pay the extra $400.00I was never asked any thing about insurance. There was no reason to bring the subject up .I gave [redacted] the toll free # for the trucking co and the pro # [redacted] Because she asked me when it was going to be delivered.Any any time she could have called the co for a ETA of to ask them about insurance. After putting together the over size pallet the rate came in at $with the time and and laborand supplies.+ the two boxes that I shipped at my own expense with UPS because there was no more room on the over size pallet that cost was $to ship We were at $ with out any labor or fuel .If there was any problem with the way I packed the pallet the trucking co would have not picked it up from me

Wow let me start from the begnning.Got a call from the wife asking for a quote from lodi Ca to Ruskin FlI told her my min to Fl was 3,lbs at $per lbShe said it was mostly boxes and she did not have that kind of money.I told her she could ship the boxes and small items on a pallet with a trucking coI knew of one that charges $per palletand she could stack as high as ftI offered to pick up the boxes and small items for $and pallet it up for herAll for $100.00+ the trucking co chargesIt was min each way from her home in Lodi to my shop in SSac I felt bad for her and was trying to do her a favor. When I got the boxes and sm items back to my shop and noticed it would take two pallets I called her and told her it would double the cost. And I would call the trucking co to see if we could use a oversize pallet they said yes but the cost would be more$and still had boxesthat were left over I shiped out of pocket from post office or ups $out of my pocketMy involvemend was picking up and palleting and calling the trucking coWhen the shipment arrived no notes were made on the BOL paperwork of any damageintell I got the phone calls and very nasty and unproffessionalemails not unlike this complintI tryed to explain it was the trucking co fault due to damage in transitAll I did is stack the boxes and TV and sm items. When the trucking co picked up the oversize pallet all was in excellent shapeShe talks about why I did not offer her any insurance She obviously did not have the money for the shipping let alone any full replacment insurance. So after the pickup labor pallet shrink wrraping anf fuel I did this for FREE just to help her out. There claim is with the trucking co not meI even offered to buy them a used TV and computer monitor out of my pocket because they did not have the funds. Not only did they demand brand new full replacement they were exteremly rude and used bad lannguageI was offering cents per lb per item form the used purchaceof the used itemsThey would have coming if they shipped with my co in my truck and paid $2,for the move

I am rejecting this response because: he continues to lie Nearly everything he wrote is a lie He told us the pallet was "too high," not that it weighed too much He was not in contact with us at all until about two days after we got here My wife DID NOT AGREE to pay the additional $400.00, he DID NOT tell us prior to the shipment that there would be an additional $400.00, we did not know he was going to hold our property ransom until the day we received the pallet. His words: "You have to pay an additional $or you don't get your stuff..." with no real excuse He did not tell us anything about extra money to be paid, not even from the beginning, it was a flat rate, period. He still has not explained the pound increase in weight of the pallet, how can it gain weight from the first day until it was delivered? Also that is not my wife's signature, it is a forgery My wife does not sign her last name like a three-year old, she has a very readable, decent signature---the one shown on HIS reciept is totally messy It is not her signature.Lies, that's all he has said to us He NEVER mentioned insurane...and besides, will somebody please get him to explain WHY the tv box was opened, the tv unwrapped and not in the same way wrapped as we did so? The thing is: the tv was removed, unwrapped from the way we did it and then shoved back into the box Why is he avoiding to answer that question. He is a liar

We had no contract with a transportation company. *** *** had the responsibility as the "professional mover" to deal with a transportation company. We didn't even know who the transportation company was until 9/18/when I received an email from XFreight that our pallet had been picked up (a week late). I NEVER received an email or a call from *** *** concerning a transportation company, or who they were. I only found out who they were when we discovered he had destroyed our HDTV and only after several emails, when I demanded "his contact" with the transportation company to find out what was up with the claim. He gave me a phone number to somebody named *** (whatever) who knew NOTHING about the claim. He ended up giving us a name, email and phone number to a *** with XFreight, who told us that she couldn't find the claim, it took a couple of days for her to locate the claim. I have a copy of an email she sent to *** whose answer to her proved he had been lying to us concerning the claim (he hadn't even paid the transportation bill on our pallet by that time either). So we never "hired" a transportation company, that was part of *** ***'s job description and he never told us who it was. Also I have a question, it covers something I simply don't understand. Below is a copy of two different emails we received from XFreight concerning the pallet. Each shows the weight of the pallet, it starts off at one weight and ends up with another one---how did it gain pounds??The URL to the transportation company is below, I do have some emails from the "claims woman" though...but NO contract was made between us and them...that's on *** ***.The delivery was about two weeks late, on top of that. We believe he had it held at their warehouse so that he could figure out how to get us to pay that ransom amount of $400.00. He NEVER really explained why the additional amount. Why charge us more if he figured we didn't have enough money to pay for (censored) insurance, yet he figured we had enough to pay ransom? The guy is a pathological liar and an unethical businessman, period

I will accept the offer as long as I am the one to select the HDTV and the monitor since I have a better knowledge as to what the replacements should be The monitor can ONLY BE a DVI monitor and must say so in the description and the replacements must be recent models, nothing older than I want to be able to see, before hand, which ones are purchased as replacements to make sure they are what we wantI also want proof of the payment, date they were shipped and proof they are covered by insurance

Spoke with Mr ***
Have resolved any of the issues did a credit of $on his card

trucking co. I knew of one that charges $500.00 per palletand she could stack as high as 6 ft. I offered to pick up the boxes and small items for $600.00 and pallet it up for her. All for $100.00+ the trucking co charges. It was 30 min each way from her home in Lodi to my shop in S. Sac I felt bad for her and was trying to do her a favor. When I got the boxes and sm items back to my shop and noticed it would take two pallets I called her and told her it would double the cost. And I would call the trucking co to see if we could use a oversize pallet they said yes but the cost would be more. $900.00 and still had 2 boxesthat were left over I shiped out of pocket from post office or ups $67.00 out of my pocket. My involvemend was picking up and palleting and calling the trucking co. When the shipment arrived no notes were made on the BOL paperwork of any damage. intell I got the phone calls and very nasty and unproffessionalemails not unlike this complint. I tryed to explain it was the trucking co fault due to damage in transit. All I did is stack the boxes and TV and sm items. When the trucking co picked up the oversize pallet all was in excellent shape. She talks about why I did not offer her any insurance She obviously did not have the money for the shipping let alone any full replacment insurance. So after the pickup labor pallet shrink wrraping anf fuel I did this for FREE just to help her out. There claim is with the trucking co not me. I am rejecting this response because: he is a liar. He is responsible for damage done.  Yes I was rude but no fowl language was used.  He took his time responding to emails or calls. He is unethical in his business practices.  He shoved the responsibility for damage to the trucking company.  Regardless the fact I repeatedly told him the box had been opened, he never responded with a reason why.  He claims he packed the boxes on the pallet, so why was the tv box opened?  Why was there damage to EACH box? The boxes were hardly even wrapped together. No I refuse his paltry offer, I want full restitution.

I [redacted] owner of Affordable moving and storageam sorry for your loss . As you know the damage happened during transit. The trucking co is at fault . Because I am a member of the Revdex.com and answerto a higher source. My total responsibility is 10 cents per lb per the US DOTBecause the shipment went out as freight not household goods.Never the lessi am willing to replace the HP 20 inch VGA DVI input PC monitor and the Philips 50PFL3707/F7 TVThey will be bought on EBay from a vendor that has a good rating. and shipped directly to you.

Review: on august 22nd 2014 I spoke to Steve Saxon with affordable moving and storage I was told that I would have to movers to come help on the move at August 23rd Steve said that he would have to movers at my apartment on August 23rd between 8 a.m. And 8:30 the movers did not arrive until 8:45 a. M. When they arrived there were three movers instead of the promsed two movers on my contract I was quoted a flat dollar amount of 320.00 they called Sunday and informs me the card did not go through for the 320.00 stating there was not enough money in the account the following day Monday August the 25th I went to my bank and added an additional $200 to my account. I spoke to Andrey at safe credit union and she stated there was more than enough money in my account to cover the 320.00 she and for me the transaction takes 48 hours to go throughsince it was on a weekend when they ran the card on monday august 25th steve jackson called and threatened me he said he would have this sent to collections and threatened to have his son come and get the money from me personally. he then charged my card an additional 104.89that was not shown on my contractDesired Settlement: as I did not sign for the additional 104.89, I want my money refunded I did not give them authorization for the additional amount they took from my credit card furthermore I do not appreciate being lied to and threatened I feel this is extremely poor customer service.

Spoke with Mr [redacted]

Review: This has been an involved situation, I will try to keep it to the bare minimum concerning this Affordable Moving & Storage. My wife and I decided to move cross country from Cali to Florida, we made contact with several movers but in the end, decided the "deal" with [redacted] sounded good. In the end we screwed ourselves, due towards the unethical business techniques of this pathological liar.He gave us a flat rate, then charged us $100.00 more to come and get it, he would have charged us more than that, however he said he wanted us to "have a good deal" or some such nonsense as that. We packed ALL of our stuff, we've moved before, so we knew what it takes to do that. When it came to our brand new Philips HDTV, since we'd moved before, we knew how to wrap it up as well; we initially wrapped it up in a sheet, then suran wrapped it, then put a pink blanket on it, taped it, then suran wrapped it again, since we still had the original box, it still had the original grey corner protectors. Once in the box, we secured it.Upon finally getting our belongings, about two weeks late and only after paying an additional $400.00 ransom for some stupid reason of his, not communicated to us, we got our stuff. It was noticed right off that every single box (twenty-eight in total but two were missing) had some kind of damage to it. I immediately opened the box with the tv and it was pretty evident that somebody had opened it up already. The corner protectors were at the bottom of the box (it was a tight fit, no way they could come off inside of box on their own), the blanket was missing and the sheet was missing. Somebody had, whilst under the holding of [redacted], gotten into the box for whatever reason. I took it out and hooked it up and discovered a huge spider web of distruction to the screen. the expensive HDTV is totally useless.I immediately sent off an email and my wife called. We did not get a reply to either one of them, a week went by and he finally decided to reply. He acted as if he didn't know what the hell I was saying and refused to even acknowledge anything. I suppose he finally figured out the scenario and suggested I fill out a claim. Of course I did not receive the claim that day or the next. I did get it, I filled it out and sent pictures of the damage.A week or so went by with no reply. After several and I will admit to it, rude emails from myself and a few calls from my wife, he responded. He told me that he would have to send the claim into the transportation people. I asked for the name of his contact at the transportation place n got no reply. I told him I wanted to contact the transportation people and wanted the name of the person to contact. When he finally responded to this, he gave me "a" name and told me not to "offend" him, because he "is on our side..." as if [redacted] was the one who had a destroyed tv. He also insinuated that HE alone was the only one who could successfully deal wth the tranportation people and that HE "would be working to get the best deal" until it was all over. As time proved, this was just another lie from the pathological liar.We contacted the contact who knew nothing about the claim but gave us a name and number of a woman in charge. My wife called her, spoke to her and found out there was no record of a claim #209155 or anything concerning a "bill of lading" # 1410890436. She would have to do some research. A day or so later she "found it," but said it had come in late and that would "affect the outcome." I don't know if it was by accident or on purpose, but an email that this [redacted] wrote to [redacted] asked him why he was late and to also tell him he was "late with his payment on this particular charge." His reply to her: "I didn't send in the claim because I was waiting to see it could be taken cre of." I suppose he hadn't paid them for the transport of our goods for the same reason.I sent in OUR claim form (not the one [redacted] did, it showed nothing of value) along with pictures of the damage. After sending emails to [redacted] and never getting any replies, of course, sadly enough I was rude to the little man, but who wouldn't have been? I mean a $695.00 HDTV destroyed, getting lies from the man responsibile, who had made aa promise of "I have had many years experience in moving, I'll get your stuff safely to you..." (lie). Emails were finally exchanged and it just wound all down to nothing, and me getting madder because he would NEVER admit to his lies.I requested, at the behest of an attorney I had spoken with but whom I have not hired, to get [redacted]'s business insurance carrier. Not sure for what purposses, but insurance is required and I supposed if he wasn't willing to do anything, I'd make a claim against him via insurace. But of course he ignored me. I was in hospital for an emergency for about a week and when I came home, he had left a rude email. I inquired again, stating I have a legal right to the insurance info and I never receive a reply. It finally came to a head last week when I received an email from [redacted], telling me something and including a paragraph concerning [redacted]'s late submission of the bogus claim. I copied and sent it to him, as proof that he was late. He did reply but didn't even acknowledge it. Not sure when the last email arrived, but he used some stupid "car allegory" concerning my demand for the full reimbursement for the property he destroyed. Now he is telling me about insurance and that I made the mistake of not getting any?WTF is wrong with that unethical pathological liar? When my wife spoke to him, he said NOTHING about us getting insurance, he said NOTHING about insurance, period. He also said nothing about what to do if he should destroy our property. He failed as some requirement surely requireDesired Settlement: This is a two-fold one---we will settle for a HDTV very similar to ours, or to the actual amount we paid for it.I also want a return of the ransom money he forced us to pay, before we could get our stuff, the amount is listed in the complaint.
