The catalytic converter that was provided a free replacement was rejected by the manufacturer for being "partially clogged due to carbon deposits." Therefore Affordable Muffler actually lost money due to the free replacement because we only warranty against manufacturer's defects, not when a customer's vehicle damages our product due to inefficiencies in motor functionsSince the manufacturer has proven that the vehicle damaged the converter, which yields no fault to anyone but the customer's vehicle, we will not be warranting nor refunding the customer since the business nor product is at faultAnd considering the uncivilized, threatening demeanor the customer displayed at our businesses we wish to cease all dealings with the customer and inform him that he is unwelcome at our locationThanks

This company has handled themselves awfully in this situation and it is outrageous! I have not said one foul word to themAs I stated before we went in in person on Saturday for and estimate and their employee [redacted] gave us an estimate to get our catalytic converter replaced while we were there he said it would be $plus taxUpon going back on Monday to get it replaced the guy [redacted] tried to charge us $I had told him what [redacted] had said and his reply was [redacted] isn't a certified mechanic he would have no idea how much it would costWhy if he isn't a certified mechanic was he working on vehicles is beyond me but anyways we ended up getting charged $plus taxes and they wouldn't even show us our old catalytic converter to verify repair or even verify it needed repairAlso upon leaving we were hearing a loud noise in the front drivers side when we pulled back in their employee [redacted] went for a ride with my husband and told my husband it was the brakesWhen we went to get a second opinion we were told our lug nuts had been loosened and were barely on that our wheel could've come off driving down the road (and we had pur three children in the car) I have no idea why they would've messed with our wheel but it wasn't doing that before and they were the only ones to have access to it while it was there!!! [redacted] was there and one other worker whom I can't remember his nameWhatever was done was done while in their careWhen I called to let them know I got cussed at and called every name imagineable by their employee ***! I also heard from the store manager whom is [redacted] and was told I needed to delete my reviews of their store and also notified that the Revdex.com wouldn't do anything to themThis place is awful and I will never be there againI would like my money refunded for everything I've had to deal with them never verifying or showing us it even needed repair and for putting my families lives in danger by now doing their job rightAlso for beig talked to and treated the way I have by their employers and manager Regards, [redacted]

This cus***er has went above and beyond to spread lies about our business and will not be negotiated withWe have tried peacefully talking but the cus***er is too hostile to deal withThis cus***er has illegally slandered Affordable Muffler across social media and thus we have received threats
from private callers; most likely this cus***er herselfNo refund shall be given because the cus***er agreed on a said price and the appropriate, correct repair was completedAlso, we do not remove tires at an exhaust shop and would never intentionally endanger anyone

As the owner/manager of Sumner's Affordable Muffler I do apologize for whatever inconvenience you are experiencingI value my customer's opinions very much as you and the general public are the reason for my doors being open and why I am able to serve the community, as well as make an honest

You state that your vehicle, after we replaced the catalytic converter, would barely run when you left our locationUpon repair and payment for our work, you were informed in person, as well as on your receipt that you received a year warranty on the labor, as well as a 25,mile warranty on the new catalytic converterIf you were experiencing immediate complications from our work then you should have immediately returned so that we could inspect any issues that may have been causing problemsUnfortunately, you continued to drive, I assume many miles considering you were able to get an "accurate" reading of your vehicle getting 2-miles per gallon
We replace catalytic converters on a daily basisWe have completed thousands of catalytic converters successfullyThere are such things as manufacturer's defects but in your case that is not the issueOriginally, manufacturer's specifications for your vehicle does call for two, single load catalytic converters on either side of the manifoldsTwo single load convertersWe replaced your converter's with a single, double load converter that does the work of two single load convertersOn that note, catalytic converters do not affect motor functionCatalytic converters' sole purposes is to change the chemicals of the exhaust as the exhaust passes through themWhile catalytic converters CAN get clogged and cause backpressure on the engine, it is never the catalytic converters fault solely; it had to have been damaged by the motor either short term (possibly an engine misfire) or long term (carbon buildup from wear and tear)If nothing is wrong with the motor in a car, then the catalytic converter will not clog in such a short amount of time, it is physically impossible
You state that you had a second opinion completed at *** uses bolt on exhaust systems and is not capable or trained to install weldable catalytic convertersThey do not use the same parts as us so they are unaware of the capability of our productsThey saw that we took two converters off and put one onEven the most untrained person can tell you that if you take two off and put one on, it will not work the sameBUT, as stated before, we replaced two single load converters with a double load converterOne that is more free flowing than factory specs, yet does the same amount of chemical convertingSo to an untrained person that is unaware of the products, it seems pretty self explanatory, yet the facts of the situation are what really matters
Had you returned immediately to us once you had issues, we could have inspected for ourselves whatever issues you were having but instead you went to another store, had our product replaced, and simply told us a story about what happenedSince we did not see, in action, your vehicle experiencing issues, we cannot simply just give you money backYou did not give us the opportunity to view the issues you were having after repair, and a simple phone call to us telling us what is going on does not sufficeAs previously stated, your repair came with a warranty, one year on the labor and 25,000 on the new catalytic converterIf you were having issues you should have let us either honor that warranty or point you in the right direction to getting your car repairedSince our converter was tampered with by another mechanic and removed, we cannot say for sure that something hasn't been done to the converter while off of the vehicle, and for us to warranty a part, the manufacturer has to inspect it to ensure no damage was done to the partIf not getting two converters was the issue, we would have happily sold you another converter if given the opportunity, no matter how much we knew one would be enough
You may stop in and ask for *** if you would like to continue to talk about the issueBring the vehicle, our converter, and your receipt and we can see if we can come to an agreement

As a factory trained catalytic converter specialist, I tried to explain to the customer that catalytic converters do not fail on their ownWhile we do warranty against manufacturer's defects, we do not warranty against a customer's vehicle damaging a catalytic converterConsidering that the
customer has had three separate catalytic converters on his vehicle, all failing, is a direct indication that there are issues with the vehicle that are causing these converters to read as failing; including something as simple as long-term carbon build up which is not detectable by a simple mechanical testingI have been nothing to nice and considerate to this customer, helping in any way I could including installing his oxygen sensor and a brand new catalytic converter from us for no charge, to try to fix his vehicle, but there is only so much I could do to try to please the customer until it came to the evidence-based conclusion that we were not responsible for the reoccurring *** *** As a business we do not "take a loss" unless we are at fault and in this case we, nor our parts, are at faultI recommend the customer go to the dealership and explain to them that his car keeps ruining catalytic converters, including the original one that came on the vehicle from the factoryThanks

Why if he isn't a certified mechanic was he working on vehicles is beyond me but anyways we ended up getting charged $259.95 plus taxes and they wouldn't even show us our old catalytic converter to verify repair or even verify it needed repair.
