I have called 3 times to discuss an issue with them and no one will call me back. I have talked with the receptionist, who is very pleasant and have left messages for the office manager and am shocked at the lack of urgency I have witnessed so far.

Affordable One Home Services Response • Oct 10, 2020

Hello, Ms..
As our receptionist relayed to you on more than one occasion, our office manager would be in contact with you once she was able to further look into the situation you were calling in regards to. Your call was not in regards to service performed by Affordable One Home Services, nor any fault of the company, which you stated yourself when speaking with our receptionist. Our office manager will be in contact with you on Tuesday after we have discussed the current situation with our team. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Won't return calls when have concerns. Neither sales person or office manager.

Hello, Mrs..
We do not see you in our companies database, nor do we have a record of any calls in the office from you, but I assure you that our office manager would be very happy to speak with you and resolve any concerns you may have. Please feel free to call the office number found on our companies website and ask for Carrie ***. She will be ready and waiting to assist you.
Have a great day!

I had the roof replaced early last October and some painting work done inside the house. After the work was completed and the quality engineer checked the roof signed off the paper that every was done correctly. One or two weeks after, rain came and water was leaking through ceiling in the guess dinning area and around the moon roof in the kit***. I contact the company and the quality engineer and he told me he was too busy to stop by to take a look; he sent someone over to patched up the leak. The leak was patched but the damaged to the paint inside the house was not repaired.
The other issue is the slope on the side of the roof where the shingles are not level and the ridge vent are not properly installed.
The painting job for the ceiling inside the bedroom was not acceptable.
Side panel replacement under the roof was not done correctly.

To whom it may concern:

We have reached out to *** and have scheduled a day to complete the work. He was very pleased with how we resolved the issue. Thank you for getting us his current contact information, as the phone number we had on file for him was no longer an active number.

I informed him that the issue would have been resolved sooner, however, he had been reaching out to the sales rep, rather than our office, and the sales rep is no longer with Affordable 1. We had no way of knowing there was an issue at all whatsoever because of his lack of communication with the actual company.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.

I am working with the business to resolve all the issues; I am in the process of working with them and have to schedule with them to finish the work. They are trying to find out the schedule of the painter to come by and do the work. I will inform the Revdex.com after all the issues are resolved.

I’m a Hurricane Harvey victim who contracted Affordable 1 to repair my home. I was conned into giving the company all of the money before they completed the repairs. The main rep passed away suddenly and I was given the general manager as my new rep. A new team was engaged to work on my repairs plus repair the shoddy work from the first team. The general manager said he’s run out of money and that the contract is completed. It is not. I’ve sent pictures and detailed letters proving so. This company has ignored my attempts to further communicate. They will tell you I had extra things done so they’re “even”. I had extra things done; however, those things WERE in the contract and paid for. There are many issues but the main one is they did not finish the repairs that they have contracted. They are blowing me off and have been extremely rude. My husband and I have been through so much these past seven months. We should not have to resort to writing to you. I’m shocked they have an A+ Revdex.com rating. Please help. Thank you!

Hello.

To whom it may concern.

Unfortunately, Our original representative, ***, who was handling this claim past away on January 14th of this year. We have a signed contract and the repairs on the contract have been fulfilled. Her stance is that *** promised her other repairs. Unfortunately, it is becoming a "he said - she said" situation. There were some upgrades made from the what was existing previously to Hurricane Harvey. These items were on the contract and were also completed. Again her stance on the matter is that we are also contracted to do all of the repairs that her Insurance company allowed for, which is not the case as we, up until recently, had never seen an insurance breakdown of what they were allowing for. *** also say, that her Insurance company also heavily underpaid her claim which is why I am trying to help her recoup an excess of $50,000.00. When Affordable One Home Services agrees to do repairs or replacement for work that the insurance company allows for, we have a different type of contract that states we will do those repairs for Insurance proceeds and scope of work authorized by the insurance company. In fact, the contract that we signed was about $7,000.00 different from the Insurance allowance and with the upgrades that she requested, only leads me or anyone to believe that we were only contracted to do repairs based on the Contract. I am reimbursing Mrs. $10,339.86 for work that she claims we did not do, although our contract and reflects that we did to show good faith. I am also sending another sub contractor to do repairs to the work we've done that she is not content with. We are working with Mrs. very diligently to get this matter resolved as amicably and as expeditiously as possible.

the Sales employee by Affordable did not complete renovations done in my house. He would always give me the run around to send a contractor. That never happened. Gutters on the house were supposed to be replace, as well as the ceiling in one of the rooms. It never got done. And sales associate *** never call back. Work was done by another party. Affordable one has put a lean on the insurance and house.

Hello.

To whom it may concern.

Unfortunately, our Sales Rep *** past away on January 14th of this year. This project fell through the cracks as we never experienced an associate passing away. Affordable One and the Homeowner have come to an agreement on the revised amount and have resolved our dispute. I spoke to the homeowner and he assured me that he would reflect that on the Revdex.com complaint department. Life throws all kinds of curve balls, and we will be better equipped to handle this type of situation. (God forbid).

Affordable installed a new roof on my home in May 2017. When the work was completed, I pointed out to the Project Consultant that the flashing around my chimney did not look like it was properly installed. He said he would have it fixed. When it rains, the flashing around the chimney leaks and has caused damage to the ceiling around my chimney. Prior to the new roof - the roof had never leaked in 10 years.

Affordable One Home Services Response

One May 9th of 2017 Affordable One completed a roof replacement to Mr. Meyers roof. Up until Hurricane Harvey, we had no prior complaint or unsatisfactory work notifications from the Homeowner. In fact, Affordable One does Quality Control Inspections on every roof installed. Part of that inspection report is to notate any grievances from the homeowner that we can address immediately. No grievances were brought up to Affordable One's Quality Control and the homeowner signed off as completely satisfied.

After Hurricane Harvey, Understandably, his roof leaked. Roofs are not designed to shed 50 INCHES OF 65 MPH STRAIGHT LINE WIND DRIVEN RAIN in just 2 days, especially around chimneys, skylights, etc. Mr. Meyers was advised to file a claim with his insurance company to get a second opinion from his insurance adjuster.

Number 19 of the provisions and condition of our contract understandably states that this type of Hazardous Situation is not covered under the warranty.:

19. You agree that Affordable One is not responsible for damages from fire, windstorm, hail, tornadoes, hurricanes or other hazards to work in progress or completed work, even if it occurs during the warranty period, absent a separate written agreement signed by you and Affordable One before work is commenced. You agree to maintain in force a policy of Homeowner’s insurance covering casualty to your property from such conditions. Affordable One’s limited warranty does not apply to damage or to repairs resulting from any of the foregoing events and shall have no obligation to repair or replace roof components damaged by such events.

Mr. Meyers was notified and is obviously upset by this. I think that after the Magnitude of this Hurricane and the type of rainfall that we experienced, Mr. Meyers would be considered lucky by most for only experiencing minor interior damage.
