Miss ***Our return policy has been the same since the opening of Affordable Optical in 1992, when *** Mills Mall was built Now *** ***s has a different return policy, but their prices are times as much if not more,or any other optical store or optometry office would charge from $to $for prescription of your power,using your insurance for the difference,if they accept your insurance,most places DO NOT.With your prescription of -you will never be able to have thin lenses as you think you might,no matter where you going to go.But it does not change our return policy and there are signs on the walls through out the store,NO REFUNDS EXCHANGE OR STORE CREDIT ONLY.Regards,

On April 1st I went to Affordable Optical, I took in a prescription I received from Americas BestWhen I first went in I spoke with a younger woman who was very polite, she took down all my informationMy insurance was actually covering the entire thing, she offered me the option of paying $out of pocket to reduce the size of my lenses and to remove glareShe took down all my information made a copy of my ID and my prescription, said that she would put the glasses on hold for meTold me that I could leave a deposit of $45.00, told her Id do that another time said that was perfectly fineA week later I called and an older lady with a thick accent informed me that there was no record of me being there that there was no tray set apart for meShe sounded extremely annoyed just kept repeating "Just come in..Just come in"When I got there I went up to an older lady who happened to be the same person I spoke to on the phoneShe was the exact same in person, extremely rude and s

The owner/manager/billing person is the rudest person in the worldI have called one month prior to appointment, verified that they take my insuranceEverything was confirmed by themAfter my wife with kid went to the appointment, the owner/manager/billing person called me that this eye exam appointment is not covered by my insuranceI have tried to tell her that they need to tell me that when I was verifying the insurance with them one month prior, then I would go to some other providerSo this person, instead of being nice and try to fix things within their business not to lie customers, she try to make it my fault and after all, just hangs up on meI will never go to this place again, and make sure to tell everyone I know about this experienceOwner/Manager/Billing is one person in allNobody to talk above her and this business practices

I am rejecting this response because: Everything in the statement is not truthful. I went in the very next day not ten days later. At the time that I was there there was probably one customer there so I was not disturbing anyone. I only spoke to one manager not three or however many they claim. I spoke to the owner and he right of the bat told me he was not going to return me my money. Even though I paid out of pocket to have the lenses thinned out my insurance or the prescription had nothing to do with it. I didn't say anything at the time because I was on lunch but I called right as soon as I got to work. Also there is only one small sign on one side of the store I explained to him no one explained to me the no returns and it does not state that on my receipt. It says within 30 days and I had just been there the day before. And as far as faul language because a I let one curse word slip out does not mean I was shouting and screaming faul things at him. Everything they failed to explain to me when they offered me to pay more for services they did not complete they tried explaining after the damage was done. I simply ask for MY money to be returned my insurance already paid for the glasses/frames. I know I will not be using these glasses, so I'd rather take my money to a different business. He offered me a store credit but I refuse to do business with them.

Miss [redacted] did bring prescription in from other eye doctor to us at Affordable Optical in Gurnee. Her insurance is state insurance and her lenses with prescription over -11.00 RX would be the size of coke bottle from the state made glasses,So she was offered to have us make her thinner lenses on...

her glasses for only $150.00,else where it would be more than double the price. These are custom made lenses,that state does not offer to patients and we offered her that choice, it was her choice and her decision to have it done.It is correct that every one has to put down 50% deposit because custom made prescription,specially this high number is very expensive to make,and it is our policy for every one to put a deposit of 50%. When she picked them up she didn't say anything and didn't let person who dispensed glasses to do adjustments,to make sure that her glasses fit correctly.Than about 10 days later,she came in with screams and yelled, and was using foul language.Two managers talked to her, one for about 20 minutes, nicely asking her to take her glasses to the place where she got her exam and let them check if it is correct prescription.Because her original complaint was that glasses were not done correctly,she refused and was still yelling at the store with other customers there. Other manager talked to her very nicely and was trying to explain to miss [redacted] about her custom made high prescription and our store policy that we have, store credit only or exchange,which is sign on the walls in several places for every one to view.Our 2nd manager explained to her that if her doctor who issued her prescription after recheck will decide that it needs to be changed, we will be happy to remake it with changes from the doctor. No matter what was explained to Miss [redacted]she refused to understand and kept yelling and using foul language.At that time mall security was called to escort her from our place of business where she was disturbing our patients, our doctor and all the employees.
