Affordable Pavement Sealing & Driveway Aprons Reviews (1)

Review: On 4-29-13 we entered into a contract to pave and tar chip the driveways at [redacted] & [redacted] The contractor Affordable paving LLC, [redacted] has been paid as per his request to order materials. After the last payment for more materials was made to his supplier he no longer answers the phone since 5/11/13, or has he responded to my registered letter sent on 5/20/13. I have called every day from 5/13/13 until 6/8/13. The work he was to preform was to pave part of the driveway making a level area as the person that lives here uses a wheelchair. This was part of the contract, Drawing and we talked about it. The rest of the driveway was to be done with tar chips 4-6 inches thick. He was aware of our need for the area to be level with the end of the ramp and steps. He was going to grade the area and then let it set for a few days before paving it. He did the grading and paved the area all the same day not giving me time to approve the grading. When I arrived home the area was already done. When I voiced my concerns he said that was the best he could do because of the pitch of the driveway. He suggested that we should try it for a few days and Lit him know how it was working. When I informed him that it was not working for us he asked for another payment as he would need more of the original contract money to buy materials to repair the work and finish the job. I was unwilling to pay any more, but I did pay. On 5/6/13 as per [redacted]s Request I directly paid his supplier in order that he could finish the job. I have not seen hem after that. Now I am left with an asphalt area that is not level, and a tar chip area that in many areas we can see the sand under the few chips that are there, and the chip area was not graded leaving the driveway very bumpy, and far short of the 4-6 inches thick mark . The tar chips were dumped, and there is still a small pile and the others were pushed and packed with the bulldozer. How with the unleveled asphalt by the entrance to the house the contractor has made the area unsafe and has limited the person using the wheelchairs personal mobility as it has made it harder for her to get in and out of her car and to the house without assistance. The tar chip area has not been completed, graded or rolled.

Product_Or_Service: Paving

Order_Number: [redacted]

Desired Settlement: I would like assistance with getting the contractor to complete the chipping of the driveway and repairing the level area so that there is less of a chance of personal injury of my friend as she tries to enter her home. There was also damage to the corner of the house that was hit by the bulldozer and the outside electrical that was dug up and broken. At this time I need the work finished or the knowledge that I was taken advantage of, and I will get a new contractor to make the repairs and finish the job. I do need this resolved quickly as there is an increased probity of personal harm due to the unsafe conditions that [redacted] of Affordable paving LLC has left behind. I would also like to get the word out to beware of paving contractors even if they seem to be ligament. Thank [redacted] XXXXX[redacted] XXX-XXX-XXXX
