Review: I registered with the affordable rentals inc apartment rental agency in June of 2015 for a fee of $150 and was promised to be suppled with several apartments to choose from as soon as beginning of next week from the date of registration and was told that they will work with me until I find the apartment that suits me. Unfortunately never heard from them aftewords. I tried contacting them myself on at least 15 occasions in the following 2 months and was given same response that they had nothing to show me and will get back to me next week. Finally I let them know that do not wish to continue since they are obviously a scam and asked for my money back. Was told that according to their policy the refund can be only issued to me in 6 months. Beginning of January 2016 I contacted them again and was told that in order to get the refund they have to run it by the owner who is currently on vacation so I had to call back a week later which I did but only reached voicemail saying that they will be closed until January **. Called back again but the number is disconnected. The owners and employees of this company are criminals scamming people out of their hard earned money under false pretenses of helping to find affordable housing in new york and should be held responsible for their actions and prosecuted to the full extend of the law.Desired Settlement: Refund of the fee of $150 charged under false pretences and having owners and employees held responsible under the law for running a scam.

Review: We paid a $149.00 fee to helped in finding a studio or a one-room apartment using a government-issued voucher, and within the limited time of such voucher, namely Jan the [redacted] of this coming years. Although Affordable Rentals promised me to find one for me before the Christmas holiday, they have not done so, while, yet they keep local paper add offering apartment in NYC.Desired Settlement: To have the apartment ready to be inspected by the local government, before the voucher expire.

Review: Went there and paid for service for them to help me find an apartment, (as advertise) they took my money and gave me one list from off [redacted] that the land lady didn't know anything about them. They sent over 10 people to the same address. I told them I do not need their service and it is over a month and they are not refunding my money that I paid. I have the receipt showing that they will refund if unsatisfied with the service. This is stressing me out and I need my money back.Desired Settlement: I WANT MY MONEY BACK

Review: I saw the Affordable rentals advertisement in the daily news ###-###-####. It concerned room or apartment rentals. I called them up and I asked the female if they were a real estate company. She said no. She find apartments or rooms for a fee of $149. I went to the address that was given to me: [redacted]. I spoke to a lady by the name of Ann on July [redacted]. I gave her $150 and she gave me back $1 in silver coins. I asked her how soon would she be able to find a place for me. She said someone would call me on Tuesday. It was a Friday when I went to see her. Tuesday went by no calls. So, I decided to call her on Thursday. I called her, she put me on hold. Then when she came back to the phone she gave me a phone # to call ###-###-####. I called the number no answer it goes straight to voice mail. For two days I called that number. But guess what? I decided to borrow the daily news from the library to look for apartments. I saw the exact same number she gave me to call. So, this lady is taking people's money and looking in the daily news for rentals. I called her. She gave me the run around again. I did not make her aware that I knew what she was up to. So, today August [redacted] I went to see her in person. This lady had the daily news in her hand searching the rentals section and talking to a client on the phone. When she saw me she put the daily news away. I told I changed my mind I want my money back. She tells me she cant give it back to me because I have to wait 6 months for a refund since I signed the form. I did not argue with her. I told her I was going to report her. Please I need your help getting my money back and preventing her from scamming others.Desired Settlement: Refund and Prevention of further fraud.

Review: This company advertises finders fee of $149.00 to guarantee to find you an apartment. Once they receive the finders fee you dont hear from them anymore. Theyre supposed to contact you with apartments. Every time I inquire as to why no one is calling me with information. I was told that someone will call me back and no one calls me. I requested for a refund and was told that the manger wants to return it to me in person. When you try to get an appointment with the manager he is never available.Desired Settlement: $149.00

Review: I given affordable rentals a money order of 149.00 on April ** 2014, with the promise of a list of section 8 landlords and vacant apartments. I was told that I would be contacted with two business days with a listing of affordable housing. Since I did not receive any contact from a representative I decided to call them Monday April ** 2014, I was then told that they will do not have any listings, and will not have any listings for 4 weeks, and I should of asked more questions. I believe this company scammed me out of my money with no service in return.Desired Settlement: Will like to be refunded because there was no service done

Review: On or about June **, 2013, I paid a $149 fee in advance for them to provide listings of rooms for rent. The representative said she would call me in a few days. She never called me and she never provided any listing for me to view.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund because they took my money without providing any service. They acted in bad faith.

Review: I saw affordable rentals in an newspaper ad and decided to give them a chance on finding me an apartment. I signed up with the owner of the business on August ** 2013.I was told that if I'm not interested in the service I could get a full refund within the first week. Since I registered with them I've been calling and even going into there office wanting answers and getting nothing. This business is definitely a fraud they get there information from the newspaper which I have been doing myself and is free there fee is 150.00 dollars and they don't make anything happen as far as getting apartments for there clients. I've been calling these people the 2nd day I signed up and still haven't spoken to the owner or received my full refund. It is now November * and no changes have been made they are very rude and disrespectful and they act like I owe then money. I don't appreciate there services and they need to be taken off the market for false advertising. If any one reads this STAY FAR AWAY FROM This Company. Review: So I signed up for these horrible people's service since 9/**/14 it's now 2/*/16. And I haven't got not one call to say if they have found anything for me. Despite all the calls I've made to them and asking why do I have to be the one to call you guys, I payed you guys $149 the least you can do is call me once every week or biweekly. One time I a lady hung up on me. Another time I get a guy name linden brown who told me he's the brother of the owner, so he said that he will get me my money back, it's been almost three months since he said that and despite all the phone calls I make to him I always get voicemail and no call back.
