Mr*** *** brought a *** Popup Tent Trailer into our shop for a repair to his lift system that lifts the roof open and closes itUpon arrival we diagnosed ***’s trailer and found that the wiffle tree assembly was damagedWe did endless research to find a replacement wiffle
tree assembly and found that parts are no longer available for this trailerWe informed *** of this and he then took the damaged wiffle tree assembly to a welder to try and have it repairedHe returned the “repaired” wiffle tree assembly to us and before we reinstalled it we informed *** that we would be unable to warranty the wiffle tree assembly and the labor because it was not an OEM part*** insisted we install it anywaysWe spend over seven hours installing it and testing itAfter it was installed we had *** come to the shop to show him that the trailers roof did go up and downWe then reminded him we cannot warranty any work done and he proceeded to sign the receipt and pay the $

Attached please find my letter to Mr. [redacted] regarding the balance due from his (3) rental units.  I have also attached copies of the rental agreement which clearly outline the do's & don'ts of renting.  His current balance due is $1224.00 after the $1500 damage deposit has been applied.  Each unit was returned damaged.Please use the above email address or call me direct with any questions.  Thanks for your help.

Review: In May 2016 I reserved a tent trailer from Affordable RV located in Newcastle California. The reservation was from July 15 to July 18. The reservation required a $100 deposit. On June 27, 2016, I called Affordable RV to cancel my reservation. During the conversation Affordable RV informed me that a full refund would be provided if the tent trailer was rented to someone else during my now canceled reserved dates. I expressed concern about this and questioned how I would know if the tent trailer was rented. My concerns were brushed aside, and I was told that it was very unlikely the tent trailer would not be rented during this time because it is the "busy season." The explanation seemed fishy, so I followed with an email the same day regarding my cancellation. Affordable RV did not respond to this email.

On July 14 I sent another email requesting a status update on my refund. The same day Affordable RV responded as follows:

"The deposits are non-refundable. We allow up to 6 months to re-book and reapply your deposit. This was covered when the reservation was taken."

I am less than satisfied with Affordable RV for the following reasons:

1) The non-refundable policy was not explained to me when the deposit was made;

2) As of the filing of this complaint, the non-refundable policy is not posted to Affordable RV's website, nor is it included in the reservation email after a deposit is made for a reservation;

3) Affordable RV did not respond to my first email explaining their non-refundable policy;

4) I provided more than two weeks notice about my cancellation;

5) Affordable RV has not been honest with me (I was told if the tent trailer was rented during our reservation dates I would be refunded and later I was told deposits are non-refundable); and

6) I provided more than two weeks notice of my cancellation.

Affordable RV should be transparent and honest about their non-refundable policy. In addition to explaining their policy to customers, it should be posted to the website.Desired Settlement: Post non-fundable policy on website and be honest and upfront with customers.

Review: On July 24th 2015 we rented 3 RV's from Affordable RV in Newcastle, CA for our wedding in Grass Valley, CA. During the event on Saturday July 26th we were emergency evacuated per CDF and the Sheriffs department due to the Lowell Hill Fire- ([redacted]) and were forced to leave the RV's behind. I was in full communication with the rental company regarding the status of the three RV's, indicating that I would return them as soon as safe too. On Tuesday July 29th (one day past the return date) I was able to get CHP to allow me to the wedding venue (which was being used as a CDF command post for the fire) to drive the three RV's out (keep in mind we actually risked our lives doing this and had no obligation to go into a mandatory evacuation zone to obtain Affordable RV's property at this point due to "Impossibility- (1 Witkin, Summary 10th (2005) Contracts , 833, p. 921) At this point we drove the RV's back to Affordable RV, and they proceeded to barricade the three drivers and my wife in the rental yard not allowing them to leave, and calling the Placer County Sheriff's Department under the premise we STOLE the RV's. When the Sheriff arrived they immediately made the RV company release the four illegally detained people (there was no theft happening per the Deputy that arrived). A police report was made by us after the fact as they illegally detained the drivers and my wife. After I defused the situation over the phone with the owner (keep in mind this was an excessively stressful time for us and our family, as over 100 of us got evacuated and the rental company actually had the nerve to accuse us of starting the fire!) the agreement was they would send me an itemized list of charges, which they failed to do and then went completely non responsive to my correspondence and charged my card 1500$ (I have filed a complaint with Visa, but apparently Affordable RV has provided them with forged documents showing I singed for the charge).Desired Settlement: Reverse the un authorized 1500$ charge to my debit card, personal apology to my Wife for how she was treated by the employees/ owner of Affordable RV.
