Final Consumer Response / [redacted] (2000, 17, 2015/10/19) */ I went to the company with a lawyer and they paid me back in fullI would be willing to drop the Revdex.com case now but feel people should still know about them

I was new to CSPRGS and chose Affordable from the Revdex.com site to replace or repair old soffit, fascia, and siding on our 70â s era homeWhen the initial work revealed far more damage from time and the elements than was first apparent, the Affordable crew quickly adjusted to the new work scope and returned to complete the task in one dayIn the end I was very happy with the work Affordable (truly!) did getting the house ready for exterior paintingThey surprised me with some nice detail work not called out in the estimate such as adding a flashing, removing useless TV cabling, replacing siding requiring use of a jigsaw to fit around a switchplate, and lots of caulking

The lady was a nice personWe went to do the driveway and it rained that nightWe did not get a chance to apply the second coatShe started chastising us via text & saying she is getting someone across the streetThe job across the street
is what she kept comparing her driveway to but they were two different kinds of drivewaysShe taunted and taunted at meI washed my hands of this because she ended up getting another company to do thisShe was on us for a specific deadline but unfortunately when it rains we can not do the workI am willing to work out something with her, but she was so upset and I couldn't deal reasonably with herShe kept saying she hired someone else, so I didn't think I was allowed to do the workIf she needed a reimbursement I offered that and considered thatI have these texts and I would like to submit them, they just weren't niceShe said she was not going to allow us to finish it and I offered to

Both myself and my head contractor tried time and time again to get them to come back and put the second coat onAll either one of us got where future dates that were not kept by the companyThe time of year that asphalt can be applied is limited to warm weatherIt seemed as if the company kept giving us dates that were a week off, and then stood us upI had a driveway that needed the second coat and the year warranty upheld, but neither were happeningI did have to hire another company to finish the driveway, actually a week after they had stopped due to the lateness of the seasonI feel lucky, but even they were not able to covered the blotches left by AffordableThey had ample opportunity and many attempts by mutiple people to live up to their so called work and warranty

My company sent [redacted] out on this call on 9/01/2015 for not cooling at all. My tech diagnosed that the compressor was bad....

We charged the customer the 75.00 per his contract with HSA and left him a receipt.my self (the owner) went back out on 9/09/2015 and started repair putting compressor on and in the mean time the customer informed me that the icemaker was not working so I asked if someone told the other tech this and he said no and he told me that the icemaker has never worked since they moved in. I completed the repair on the compressor and then proceeded to look at the problem with the icemaker At this point I realized that the reservoir to the icemaker was cracked and water was leaking when trying to use the water on the door so I proceeded to find out why the reservoir was cracked and I noticed that the fan motor in the freezer was not working properly and that it was the wrong fan motor and fan blade on the unit so the air was circulating backwards which is what caused the reservoir to crack when it was cooling before. So I asked the customer if he has had any repairs done on this unit previously he informed me that he has only been in the house for about a month and a half and he has had no other repairs on the unit. I told customer that with the fan running backwards and being the wrong fan that the unit would cool but not properly and that the home warranty may see this problem as pre existing and may not pay for repair but I would turn it in to them and see. when I left his house the compressor was working and cooling like it should. the problem that we originally found we fixed it we had no ideal that he had other repairs that were not correct on this unit. I called this back in to his home warranty and gave them the estimate for repairing the reservoir and fan motor but they denied the repair for reasons of being preexisting and he did not have coverage on the reservoir. They did call and explain this to him and we called later giving him a price for what the other repairs would be. he declined and started making false accusations against us saying that we broke fan and that we were trying to do a repair under the table. At this point we decided to not do any repairs for this customer again. fan is not broke someone has put the wrong one in at some time before he moved in. the dispute is with his home warranty they are the ones denying this not us. It is not up to us to cover this he will have to deal with the home warranty company There is a warranty on the repair we did on the compressor but we do not give a warranty on the whole refrigerator especially something we did not repair.

The customer chose to purchase his unit from a company other than the manufacturer. They commonly sell seconds and units not updated to requirements. He also purchased an electronic control that works for several different units rather than the...

specific installation. He provided his own information on how he wanted it installed and we followed that instead of going by standard instructions. He was very adamant that he knew how to do this and became very obnoxious about overseeing the operation. I did not agree with him. I have installed these units for Dometic as a certified technician for over 15 years.. When the customer wants it done "their" way, you just do it their way. They have to be responsible for any improper operation if we do it their way.. He caused us more time than we had bid for the job, but we left the price the same as we had promised. The ac unit was put into a bind by tightening the fasteners where he told us to drill through his pan.. It has factory holes that did not line up with existing protrusions and although we strongly recommended not to drill, he insisted. We covered the holes in the roof with the same Styrofoam sticky pads that the factory provides. We stand behind what we do unless we are instructed to divert from our standard operating procedures. And after being talked to in such a demeaning tone by the customer, I do not want to work for him any more. He is very offensive in his demands.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/09/08) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Affordable Services response is totally without merit, and the slander is absurd! First, the A/C unit was purchased from PPL Motorhomes (the largest RV retailer in Texas with a sterling reputation for quality/warranties), and referred by the A/C Manufacture (Dometic). The (electronic control they reference) is a specific Control Board that Dometic requires for this specific A/C when installed in this configuration. This is a Power Module Board Conversion to Convert Ducted Heat Pump/AC with 5-Button Control Center Thermostats. Instructions provided by Dometic that comes with the A/C state the same!
The new Dometic Low Profile Penguine II A/C does not have the same bolt holes as the old Penguine I A/C, and when installed on Newmar Motorhomes the bolt holes in the new A/C "pan" must be aligned and redrilled to match the existing holes in the roof of the motorhome. Both Newmar and Reputable Technicians advise to "never drill unnecessary holes into the roof of Newmar Motorhomes". This does not cause a bind when tightened according to the installation instructions provided by Dometic. This can be affirmed by reputable RV Technicians, Dometic and Newmar Motorhome Corp.
The "Sticky Styrofoam Pads" the factory provides was not an issue, as they go on the outside under the pan. They are designed to mitigate vibration and should only be compressed 1/2 when tightening the lag bolts. (See page 7, install instructions 630516.321).
Affordable Services may have confused this complaint with their failure to install a Barrier/Gasket/Styrofoam pad between the return/discharge Air Ports. This is basic A/C installation 101, and discussed on page 7 above!!
Pages 6 and 10 of the installation instructions (3314520.010) state the installer provides UL certified closed end single opening butt splice connectors on "all" open ended wires.
I do not know how much time this CLOWN allowed for installation of the A/C, but he arrived at 9:30AM and departed at 10:45AM! I even used my front-end loader to lift the A/C to the roof so they would not be stressed! I did not talk in a demeaning manner to this person at the time of installation, however when he refused to return to correct the problems I did question his qualifications and requested a refund.
Yes, I do know a little about correct procedures for installation of an A/C on a Newmar Motorhome by following written instructions, however I hired this company to do the job...and they failed in every department. They do not stand behind what they are paid to do, and evidentally their Standard Operating Procedures are not in compliance with Codes and Manufacture Instructions. At this point I am not even sure they are licensed to perform these services.
Final Consumer Response /* (3000, 17, 2015/12/08) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
As stated on the previous rebuttal, this person and his assistant did not install the new Dometic A/C correctly, did not follow the motorhome manufacture or dometic installation instructions, and did not comply with electric codes. At no time did I "smother" him with my own personal instructions. I did advise him that the motorhome manufacture (Newmar)did not recommend drilling additional holes in the roof. When I later discovered the incorrect installation, I called him and "requested" he return to correct the problems and he rudely refused! Other RV repair businesses in the area informally informed me this was a bad installation and that he has a reputation of sloppy work. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS TO OTHERS!

[redacted] is correct this is through a home warranty insurance program and was denied coverage on the door damage by the home...

warranty company not us affordable services. door as not covered per her home warranty contract and this is between her and her home warranty. We can fix the door but would have to charge the customer or she will have to call her contract and battle it out with them. We do apologize for any inconvenience but it is out of our hands.
