Review: I bought a backhoe located by Diamond Lake, WA. The seller recommended Afforadable Truck & repair company to haul the backhoe to our place in Tumtum. It was close to his house so the hauling fee would be reasonable. The next day I went back to the Seller's to complete payment for the backhoe. In the meantime the seller had went over to the Hauling company to get the information on his rates for hauling. He gave me a business card with the charge rate written on the back and the date the company could haul the backhoe. It stated Thursday Oct.24 10:00 a.m. The charge written was $200 to $300.00 approx. $100 an hour. I phoned [redacted] the owner and confirmed the time and charge. On Oct. 24 , 2013 Mr. [redacted] phoned me about 10:15 and said he was on the way over to pick the backhoe up and he would phone when he was close to our house for directions He phoned again at 12:20 and said he was about 8 miles away. So I gave him exact directions where our driveway was and how to pull in etc. He arrived about 15 minutes later. [redacted], the person I had waiting at the house (I was at work so he was there to tell him where to park it etc. and pay him.) said it took about 10 minutes to unload it. Then Mr. [redacted] said the charge was $550. When [redacted] asked why so much Mr. [redacted] said he had to pay over $200.00 for a special road permit and he had to hire extra help and it took him longer to drive 50 miles than he had figured .[redacted] only had $460. (he only had expected around $300 or so. So he gave him the $460. with the agreement I would send a check for the balance. I phoned Mr. [redacted] the next day to find out why it was so much. Mr. [redacted] was out in the field, not in his office so he could not remember the exact numbers but would check when he got back to the office why the differences and send me a receipt explaining the charges. Also he said to don't worry about sending a check for the balance. He did remember it was 67 miles one way from his place to mine. I phoned DOT road permits to ask them about the expensive road hauling permit. The woman there had never heard of any fee like that. She said the guy was making that up. I have phoned Mr. [redacted] several times and never got a hold of him. I figured his bill on the hourly rate he quoted would be from 10:00 a.m. to maybe 1:30 max. = $350 giving the time to return back home. I would still like to know how he figured the bill to be so much. I told him if I did not receive his statement I would contact the Revdex.com, he said to do what you feel. Thank you.Desired Settlement: Send me a bill explaining why the charges was so much. and to see if he figured we overpaid him and to recieve the overcharge.

During the initial conversation with Ms. [redacted], [redacted] stating the quote of $200-300 was for a job that was thought to be 20 miles away.

There was also a permit required to be able to haul heavy equipment ($200)

The mileage to reach the consumer was 67 miles.

After the job was complete, the total bill was $550.

Ms. [redacted]' son, [redacted], accepted the bill but was only able to pay $460. A few weeks later [redacted] had called the business to pay the rest of the bill. At that time [redacted] stated that the bill was considered closed and there was no need to pay the outstanding amount.

[redacted] has sent a check in the amount of $100 to Ms. [redacted] in hopes that this good faith effort will resolve her concerns.
