Ordered 10 hurricane impact windows, paid $9500 & windows were measured incorrectly & wrong windows ordered. Owner refusing to refund our money.
On 5/26/19 we purchased 10 hurricane impact windows from Affordable Windows Fl, 10524 ***, Orlando Fl, 407-***. Ralph *** was salesman, son of Richard ***, owner. Steve *** the installer AW contacted to do our installation came on 5/25/19 to measure our windows. We were told all permits would be pulled, & their installer was licensed and insured. We asked to have Steve ***'s business liability ins sent to us, showing he was insured under *** Contracting, which we have since found out the policy is under a "Kelly ***" with Auto Owners Ins Co. We were also told the windows would be ViWinTech windows and would be aluminum framed, not true.Ralph *** told us Steve does 90% of their installs. On Aug 2 Steve *** came to my condo with 2 helpers, to install the 10 hurricane impact windows and remove our hurricane roll down shutters. We live on the 2nd floor of an 8 story condo bldg. He never took one window out of his truck, came into our lanai and removed all our hurricane shutters, took them down to his truck, removed and damaged one double slider door, and then told us the windows would never fit our openeings, they were ordered incorrectly by Ralph ***. The next 3-4 hours were going back and forth with phone calls, with owner Richard *** telling installer, "do whatever you need to make the windows fit, do not bring them back". after insisting he could not we told him just put the window you took out back, which in the process he broke the track, screen and screwed the door back broken. He went down to bring our shutters back, but my husband's cell rang and he said, "I'm sorry but the owner Rich told me to leave all the 10 windows in front of your building "do not bring them back to me or you will be responsible for paying for them" we were stunned and begged him to not do this. This is private property, you cannot leave them in front of bldg. Please we never accepted them, signed for them, and also you need to replace our shutters you removed. His comment was, I was told by owner Rich to leave the windows outside your bldg, and I am not coming back with your shutters and hung up the phone. We went downstairs and all the windows were stacked in entrance of building, walkway to elevators where many elderly people walk with walkers and assistance. We immediately called the owner only to hear, " I just spoke with my lawyer and was told if they are left outside I'm in the clear". Numerous emails, texts, phone calls, all documented, along with pics taken, and when we told him installer stole our shutters he said, not my problem. We called installer's business cert co and filed complaint only to then receive a call from Steve, installer threatening our lives, staying with abusive profanity, I'll get you, don't mess with my insurance, I'm coming after you! Immediately we went to police and filed police report. Ralph and Rich *** insisting the windows were ordered correctly, they were measured wrong, not their problem, they have nothing to do with install, only selling the windows. I begged them please pick up windows, mistakes happen, they cannot stay in front of bldg, & you have our $9500. Refused. Not our fault. Had independent contractor measure windows, all wrong windows ordered for our openings. I never had possession of the windows, never accepted, they were not bought as a drop and shop order. This business has our $9500 and we have no windows. We were lied to from the beginning, no permits, the installer they contacted and sent to us has no license, goes under at least 3 separate contracting names which are being investigated. We are also contacting all other consumer resources, this business is unethical, does not tell customers the truth and we have no windows, damages to one slider door and $9500 of our money, paid in full. We are also senior citizens and it is a crime to do this kind of business. we begged them to make this right, they refused.This is so wrong.
Refund of our $9500 they made up pay in full, upfront in order to sign contract stating custom windows but they were not only measured wrong, Affordable Windows ordered the wrong windows for my openings. We had an independent contractor measure the windows left outside my condo building, where the installer was ordered by Richard ***, owner of business, to leave the wrong windows, we did not sign for them, accept them, our name was not even on the windows. We were threatened by installer, police report on file, installer that Affordable Windows contacted to do the work did not get permit, does not have license, business liability ins is under one of three different companies and being investigated. We want our $9500 refunded. We were told a specific window name was being ordered, lied, we were told there are no middlemen, they order direct from the manufacturer, lied. We were told they would have aluminum frame, lied. Refusing to pick up after ordering installer to leave them in front of my condo building. They have refused.

Mrs. Sperry seems to think it is ok to lie and also have relatives of hers pretend to be customers and leave a bad review online in which our lawyers is handling. But to the point she received what she purchased 10 impact double hung windows. We are not involved with any installations and she chose to hire Steve on her own . Steve is our measurer and measure the windows correctly for her. Mrs *** refused to state Steve couldn't do her job because she refused to let him cut a bar out which she never mentioned and is common sense for windows to be installed. She has called and stated Steve threatened her life and she filed a police report which was another lie. We delivered the products to her and she has what she paid for. She had a free attorney if she really was on e call and resolve we stated our side and were told we obliged our end of the contract. The installation is on her to figure out as the one she hired doesn't want to go there after her threats and harassing . The is always another side to the story and based on 41 years of total business experience and great reviews her story is a fabaraction as she refuses to admit her wrong . We measure based on what the customer wants like *** and ***'s which is how we operate as a retail only company. We will not refund her for her correct Windows. Furthermore she needs to stop affiliating is with Steve as he does not install for us and she agreeded mutually with Steve for a install our job was to deliver the products and which we did deliver the products which are correct. Also the review was written by Erica *** in Linwood nj a simple search of her name shows she is related to Lauren *** . This shows the type of people we are dealing with . She messed up and excepts us to eat $9500 In windows which are in her possession and which are correct

I have never dealt with a merchant or business in my entire life with pathological lies after lies. Reading Ralph's response, now adding more outrageous lies, I am at a loss of how this man sleeps at night. I will respond to his responses being absolutely 100% truthful and honest how this business continues to make up the most ridiculous lie and lie. I will address his lies and stick to the honest, truthful facts of this nightmare. Fact: you are absolutely 100% involved with installations and Steve, who you told us did 90% of your installations. You as our salesman/son of owner, sat in my home recommending "Steve" stating he is also fully insured and licensed, only to find out after he damaged a sliding door frame and stealing our hurricane roll down shutters when removing them, and then for the next hours in my home complaining to you and your father on the phone the wrong windows were ordered by YOU. Fact: You contracted Steve, you wrote in your own handwriting on my labor sheet, Steve's name, his cell phone number, and what his charge would be for the installation. You are totally involved with the installation, you contacted him directly whereby he then called us to come measure the window openings. The day he was in my home he had on going conversations not only with you but your father, Rich placing the blame on each other regarding the measurements were wrong or the windows were ordered wrong. Fact: your outright, emphatic LIE about we not stating he could not do the job because I refused to let him cut "a bar" out of the outside of our 8 story condo bldg. Let me be as clear as possible. You were physically on my lanai. Steve was physically on my lanai prior to installation day. Both of you state the metal iron railing is part of my 8 story condo bldg. The outer part of my lanai is NOT MY property, it is the outside of the cement building. Not once and I repeat, not once, did you nor Steve ever mention the railing needed to be removed or any mention about checking with our HOA office. That would obviously be so absurd so please Ralph, please do not insult the intelligence of any consumer or anyone else reading this comment of yours. The truth is, and you know this for a fact, when your installer came the day of installation, realizing the wrong windows were ordered by YOU due to your negligence, attempts between you, your father and Steve with cell conversations stating "to make the windows fit anyway you can and do not bring them back to us." Iron metal bars are part of the cement building and you know so well Ralph, if you would have ever mentioned anything about that, we would have absolutely 100% said to you that would be impossible, not part of our lanai, they are a part of the structure of the building so by adding his new outrageous lie now is just incomprehensible. If the installer that you contacted, gave us all his information on the labor sheet that is in your handwriting was licensed and had proper insurance coverage he would have been able to pull a permit for the job instead of stating to us "he's been having some problems with Palm Beach County" to get permits when he came without a permit, also something you emphatically assured us all permits, licensed and insurance papers would be shown. Fact: When Steve left my home with his two helpers, after damaging a double slider door, screen and tract, and stole my hurricane roll down shutters and refused to bring them back or rehang we had not choice but to call his bogus business liability insurance co. He is NOT licensed, no worker's comp and NO insurance for any damages done in anyone's home YOU contact for your customers. The Insurance Commissioner's Office of Florida is also investigating this false information. That is when Steve called us screaming the most vial, profanity, threats to our lives, stating "don't F...mess with my insurance! You'll be F...sorry..Ill get you MF
Fact: stating you delivered the windows and obligated your end of the contract is an outright lie. This was not a drop and shop purchase for $9500. The windows were never brought into the elevator to my second floor, I did not sign, accept or agree to have them dropped in front of my condo bldg as your father ordered Steve to do or as Steve called and said "I was told to leave them outside or I would be responsible for paying for them." Fact: Yes, I had an attorney call you to hopefully try and resolve this nightmare only for her to tell me that yes, you have a case but it would then cost me $1500 for a retainer to start legal action against Affordable Windows and after losing $9500 and no windows we cannot afford to hire an attorney but I will say again, she felt so badly about this insane story and felt comfortable being able to take this to court. Fact: You actually stated that it was I who made threats and harassed installer Steve?? Insanity! I emphatically deny this outright once again lie that continues to come out of your mouth. In fact, he and his two helpers were the ones to tell us to take pics of all the window stickers on each window while they were still in the truck because they were the wrong windows ordered by you! Which of course we did. They were vinyl, not aluminum, the wrong make of windows you told us, all outright lies. Once again, honestly, I have no idea how you sleep at night and how your conscience doe not bother you with all these outlandish lies and lies. I cannot stress enough how this man is responding to our complaint. To state how it was a customer's fault for not checking with their HOA office regarding iron metal railings on the outside of a building? Never once mentioned, never discussed and to say he knew it wouldn't work without the metal railings being removed but "but who is he to say no to a customer??" These lies become more outrageous from this man. Fact: I did not "mess up." You lied to us, deceived us and continue to do so and yes, you have also stolen our $9500 which were left outside a condo bldg, not in my possession, never signing, accepting or knowing they were being left there until your installer drove away and then called to tell us what he did. We are also NOT in possession of any of the windows, so Affordable Windows has our $9500 and we have NO windows, not even the wrong ones left outside the building. I cannot stress enough I have never in my life dealt with such a dishonest, unethical, malicious business or people in my life. We are senior citizens, living on a fixed income, and this is so wrong, so very wrong. My only alternative is to continue to file complaints which I am doing with all consumer advocate organizations, Attorney General's Office, Insurance Commissioner's Office of Florida, etc. I cannot and will not let this business continue to deceive and lie and rip off consumers. Once again, the police report filed on August 6th states all of these facts.
Please Affordable Windows, make the right choice, and own up to your neglect and admit you made a mistake and make this right. I definitely should have checked with the Revdex.com prior to calling Affordable Windows as you are not authorized under Revdex.com. Yes, that was my error. I have never done anything like this in my life, using so much energy with filing all these complaints, but I know this is the right thing to do, we were so taken advantage of, lost $9500 and no windows, but bottom line to this madness...this is so very wrong. So wrong..If one person can read this complaint and not use Affordable Windows, it will be worth all this time and effort on our part.
We are done entertaing this ***. She received what she purchased vinyl is what we sell not aluminum. She was showed a vinyl window. Secondly Steve delivered what she ordered he didn't bring them up to the second floor because he was intimated by Mrs Sperry's yelling , furthermore on our review page she has her relative post a fake slander review under Erica *** posing a potential customer and staring she was going to use us but won't now because of Mrs *** after a simple search she lives in nj and is related to Mrs . Sperry. This lady caused her own problems and we delivered what the contract stated . Furthermore there is a text acknowledgement they received their windows and per their lawyer the windows were stored by the Sperry's. There is nothing more on this case on our end further response will be handled by our attorney civilly . This lady is full of lies because she made a mistake and thinks she can just get a refund for her custom made vinyl windows . She is now stating aluminum to justify her lie. Presented vinyl brochure vinyl abc stated she got what her agreement stated as well stated that we don't sell alum windows in impact which she know and aluminum was never mentioned at all

I have stated my complaints and any verification from the filed police report to the brochure stating aluminum framed windows, to affordable windows recommendation of the installer who came to my home with the wrong windows, threatening our lives, false insurance coverage etc has all been documented and can certainly be confirmed. The owners of this fraudulent unethical business who continues to lie and deceive consumers is beyond my comprehension. I will and am continuing all my complaints to the proper authorities, and hopefully this business will be thoroughly investigated for their lies and deception to consumers until they are out of business. I hope the Revdex.com will post my complaint as this type of deceit and false information and stealing good hard earned money from senior citizens as ourselves will be stopped. This is a disgrace how good honest people can be taken advantage of by scam artists and not be responsible for their actions.
