Affordable Windows Plus Exteriors Reviews (40)

We had Affordable Windows install a custom sliding door in March of 2012. They are very professional from the salesman, owner, customer service and installers. We were very pleased with the door and happy how it made our house look that we had them come back out and replace two more sliding doors and all the windows in 2014. We have had one service call on the handle for the first slider and that was also handled very professionally and timely. I would recommend them to anyone that is thinking of having doors and windows replaced in their home.

My wife and I want to express our deep appreciation to everyone at Affordable Windows for the installation of eight thermal elite windows and the two patio doors on our home. We are amazed how much cooler and quieter our home has been since [redacted] and [redacted] installed all the windows and patio doors. In fact, I mentioned to my wife that I miss hearing the birds during the earling morning hours. We are thrilled to be able to leave the blinds open on our west facing windows the whole day. Normally, the blinds would be closed during the afternoon hours as the heat would radiate thru our old single pane windows and thus the room would be dark. We are now able to leave the blinds open all day long leaving the room bright, airy and cool.
Affordable Windows has made our house look and feel totally brand new. We are amazed how installing all new windows and patio doors has made us feel like are moving into a completely new home. We loved how the whole process of replacing all our windows was such a pleasurable experience from meeting [redacted] at the home and garden show; to having [redacted] and [redacted] come to our home and helping us choose the windows; to meeting the owner [redacted] who came to our house to do the final measurements and finally to your window installers [redacted] and [redacted]

I recently purchased new windows and doors from Affordable Windows and Home Renovations and must say it was the most pleasant experience I have ever had as far as dealing with a contractor. I did a lot of research both online, and by interviewing four other Window Replacement companies and am convinced that I received the best quality windows and doors, for the least amount of money.

The company was great to deal with from start to finish, and the best part is that I will never have to buy replacement windows and doors again because they have a lifetime warranty not only to me, but do the next owner if I choose to sell my house.

You will not find another company who will make this claim.

I am very happy with Affordable Windows and home Renovations of Gilbert Arizona

I had Affordable windows install a security door on my home. [redacted] the installer was very polite and knew exactly what he was doing. His workmanship was the best that I have ever seen. [redacted] was very pleasant to work with from beguining to the end.

My husband and I had our windows recently put in by affordable. We saw them at the Homeshow and those girls had us from hello. Jess could answer any question we had thoroughly. We were very impressed. But I will be honest we did get 4 estimates and they were in the middle of them but we liked the window and the company moto we went with affordable. I am so Happy with my new windows especially my patio door. Just Awesome. The install went like clockwork and very clean and professional Thank you Affordable.

Outstanding product and professional installation.

Just had 8 replacement windows installed today. Was very pleased with the complete process, from quote to install. Members of the team are knowledgeable of their product and the crew who came out to install the windows were efficient, clean and careful. My experience was extremely satisfying and I will not hesitate to recommend Affordable Windows + Exteriors.

Professional service from start to finish. The installers were courteous, knowledgeable, and on time. The clean up was amazing; they vacuumed as they worked and took great care to protect our belongings, leaving their work area cleaner than when they came. Plus, the windows are beautiful and the difference in temperature with these new windows is palpable. We will definitely be using this company again.

I am so pleased with our new windows. I have never really considered windows pretty but I can honestly say these windows are beautiful. The windows have completely changed the inside and outside appearance of our home.

These windows are definitely an upgrade from the windows that came with our home. Instantly, the room temperature has dropped in our large front room. This room has always been the most warmest room in our home. Now this room is just as cool as the other rooms in our home.

The men that installed our windows were incredibly skilled in their trade. My husband and I were very impressed with the precision and speed that they installed the windows. There was no clean up required after they were done. I appreciate the time [redacted] took to go over all the features of our new windows.

After the installation was complete, [redacted], our sales rep, came back to our home to make sure we were happy and satisfied with our new windows.

In just one day, we have had our neighbors come over and compliment our purchase. It gives our home a more updated and modern look.

I can honestly say when we need new windows again, we will be buying them from Affordable Windows & Exteriors!!

Please feel free to drive by and check them out!!

Replaced all windows and doors in 3 stages without incident in 2012. Quickly done and well done. No problems in 3 years. Price was RIGHT!

I scheduled an appointment to get an estimate during the [redacted] for a Thursday at 6 pm. The day before the appointment, I received a confirmation vmail indicating the person may be a little late but most definitely confirmed between 6 - 6:30 pm. I went to work three hours early to allow myself plenty of time to get home to handle the appointment personally. Midday on appointment date, a vmail was left indicating the appointment would have be rescheduled since the scheduled employee had an anniversary. I called back and explained the appointment had been confirmed the day before ([redacted] was unaware), I had specifically changed my schedule for this appointment, and if they wanted my business someone needed to honor their commitment. [redacted] indicated she was unable to answer for her boss. I never heard back from this company. I was home during the appointment time... just in case they wised up.

NO CALLBACK + NO SHOW = BUSINESS LOSTED

(hmmm, just how long does a company stay in business without customers? and what happens to their employees? good luck.)

I can completely vouch for the other reviewers experience regarding the salesman's refusal to not only provide a quote without my partner being home, but refused to even MEASURE the windows after we set an appointment at the latest home show with the CLEAR UNDERSTANDING that we both work and both of us being available at the same time was near impossible. For the company response to the other reviewer that they NEVER set appointments with one spouse or the other is simply not the truth, they just did it to us at the home show.

They wasted my valuable time on a rare off day during the week, was only interested in a high pressure sales effort, and left me with the feeling he wasn't listening to me and would only discuss the project if my spouse was here. That is not the verbal agreement we had at the home show booth, and we canceled the follow up meeting to do business with a company that respected our situation and my ability to make a multi-thousand dollar decision to upgrade my home.

We contacted Affordable Windows & Home Renovations, AKA : "Affordable Windows, L.L.C." for a price to install 22 New Thermal Elite windows and 2 new patio doors, all containing Argon Gas. Jason V., Marketing Director gave us a reasonable price which we agreed to on the spot.

The installation began in early November. The installers, Matt and David have worked together for 14 years, and it showed. They both seemed to know what the other was thinking. The install took 4 days. Both of them are meticulous in their work. They did a great job of cleaning up during and after each window they installed, keeping the dust to a minimum, and hauling away all old windows and screens each day.

All office and field personnel are great, including of course one of the owners, Jeff C. Any changes / corrections after the initial meeting with Jason V., were easily changed without hesitation.

We no longer need the unsightly, "Sun Screens."

We are very thankful to all at Affordable Windows & Home Renovations. We will / would recommend them to anyone and everyone.

Ten years ago my wife and I remodeled our townhouse and had new low E insulated windows and sliding glass doors installed, supplied by a Texas manufacturer. One year ago one window lost it's seal and the company replaced it. This summer a second window failed and the company would not honor the warranty.

At this point we received an estimate for replacement windows from a major national, well respected manufacturer. For a second estimate we contacted Affordable Windows and Doors. Their estimate was slightly less than 50% of the other company's estimate -- for the same number of windows AND for windows of at least the same quality.

Our new windows are now installed and look spectacular. Not only do the windows look good but we are quite certain that the house is quieter and warmer now. The installers ([redacted] and his helper) did a superb job, professional, clean, quiet, and speedy. They beat an impending rain squall by about 20 minutes! My wife is a VERY fussy housekeeper. Any speck of dirt, etc. on her floors or counter tops cause her to run for the vacuum. Her cleanup following the installation required only a light pass on the tile floor of her Swifter.

We want to also mention that [redacted], the Operations and Finance Manager with Affordable, is one of the most upbeat persons with whom we have ever worked. It's a real treat to speak with her and she must be exceedingly well organized since the installation process went without a hitch as did the financing.

We look forward to replacing the sliding glass doors in the not too distant future and Affordable Windows and Doors will be doing the work.

Review: I did extensive on-line research for replacement windows. I visited the Home Show in March 2014 and started with Affordable Windows booth before reviewing many others. Salesperson [redacted] was professional and impressive and ensure me that the process included an initial window measure and then a second technical measure by a co-owner, [redacted], who also did the install. I thought that again was impressive. My condo is currently occupied by City of Phoenix, Section 8, disabled veteran and his wife and I asked my tenants one special favour if they would allow a measure appointment before the lease ended and their exit so that I could order and install windows before I moved in. (My tenant’s wife is in constant pain from a failed surgery and she has disrupted sleep patterns. Securing one appointment on a specific day and time was not an easy task.) [redacted] took that appointment and insisted on a second appointment to review the quote. The first quote started at $9,000 and quickly came down to $6,000 without charging sales tax making me feel that the original quote was inflated. I was told at the Home Show that I could have a different colors interior and exterior. [redacted] disavowed this. I filled in a credit report agreement and a financial loan request and gave [redacted] a $1,500 check deposit as [redacted] stated that the price was too low to allow a credit card payment. I received a call from [redacted] going over my loan application, but she never called again to say whether I had been approved or not. In my next conversations with [redacted] and the second interview with [redacted], I had told both of them that I was now moving into my condo earlier than originally planned and that the technical measure would have to wait until May when I was resident. I received a voice mail from [redacted] trying to confirm a technical measure appointment for that exact day. When I tried to return her call, her cellphone VM box was full. I texted her and the text bounced back. I tried to call Affordable Windows, but they don't open until 11 a.m. I left a number of general mail box messages for a return call and explanation. I received another VM from a [redacted] who stated that the technical measure that been completed, that [redacted] had taken a "shot in the dark" and gone and intruded on my tenants, onto my property without my permission and that "my windows" were in production even without my final sanction nor a loan application finalized. [redacted] left a “direct phone number” which turned out to be another general office number. When I did speak to [redacted], she told me that there had been a mix up with two "[redacted]" from the Home Show contradicting the message from [redacted]. Disquieted by this whole fiasco and beginning to accept that the communications were impossible and that these were not up standing vendors, I mailed a certified letter to both business owners canceling the order and requesting my deposit refunded. [redacted], co-owner called me saying he wanted to resolve the issue, but the minute I started explaining what had happened and my concerns he interrupted and kept interrupting me. When I asked if I was going to be able to finish talking, he responded, "I am not going to let you ramble on for 15 minutes saying things that I don't agree with." When I asked if [redacted] had asked for me by name at my property he said he did not and did not have to. He also reiterated that it was not a problem not having the owner present and that the measure was completely outside and did not disturb my tenants. (Not so as my back yard is high walled and only accessible through the condo.) [redacted] also told me that in twenty years of business he had never had a customer complaint until me. i.e., I'm wrong and he is right. (According to the Revdex.com complaints, he is wrong.) When I asked about the loan application he told me it had “gone through” and I asked when I was going to be told this? His response that I should not have to worry about it. [redacted] had no intention of resolving a customer complaint, but was determined to protect his ego and convince me that I was the problem, not the company. This whole process from heavy salesperson pressure to this rush to measure and manufacture was totally focused on expediting the order regardless of communication, thoroughness and involvement of the client. When I explained that I teach college and don’t take phone calls when I am teaching and don’t allow students to do the same, he suggested that I should have utilize the opening hours until 7 p.m. Again, the communications were my problem, not his. I again asked to end this with a return of my deposit. He refused. I will file in Small Claims Court and let a judge decide.Desired Settlement: Return of my deposit.

Business

Response:

In response to [redacted]’s complaint, were sorry he had a negative experience. First, [redacted] mentioned a price reduction during the estimate; the price is very clearly reflected in the contract with homeshow discounts applied as the reason for the price discount he mentions. Regarding the color options, 13 color options are available to all homeowners at all times. Regarding accepting his credit card for a down payment, if [redacted] would have asked to use a credit card we would have had no quarrels to switch the method of payment at any time per company policy. We confirmed a re-measure appointment on 4/2/2014 for an appointment that was scheduled for 4/3/2014. The re-measure was completed on 4/3/14 as scheduled, [redacted] knocked on the door where he was greeted by the people at the home who allowed him to take the measurements with no messages to do otherwise. Our office hours are Monday-Friday 11am-7pm for scheduling and customer service. On 4/4/14 at approximately 7am [redacted] began calling our closed office and after leaving a message there he then called [redacted]’s cell phone starting around 7am several times. Around 9am on 4/4/14 [redacted] received a text message from [redacted]. It did not bounce back like he says. She texted him back letting him know the re-measure was taken care of and he responded back to her immediately saying he wanted to be there. On 4/4/14 [redacted] called and spoke to [redacted], he was very upset over the measure taking place without him there. [redacted] was told during that during that conversation on 4/4/14 to e-mail a time and [redacted] will go out and do the re-measure again for him. He agreed and said not to order until he meets with [redacted] for another re-measure. After that conversation he was fine with proceeding with the contract. After the weekend pasted, at approximately 7am on 4/7/14 [redacted] left [redacted] a message saying he was thinking of cancelling because we were impossible to get ahold of and that [redacted] called him after [redacted] spoke to him on 4/4/14 to tell him we ordered his windows. [redacted]’s expectation for [redacted]’s availability during her off time at 7am was unreasonable and [redacted] did not call him after the conversation on 4/4/14. [redacted] then sent in an e-mail with the date he wanted the measure done on 4/7/14 at 7am. After he didn't get an immediate response so he then sent a cancellation letter later that same day with a different rendition of these complaints than what’s stated on the Revdex.com that I will attach to this response. [redacted] was transferred to the co-owner of Affordable Windows after several failed attempts for staff to reason with [redacted] tried to come to a resolution with him in a kind and respectful manner but [redacted] just wanted to complain. [redacted] was calm and reasonable with [redacted] offering him to have [redacted] come out anytime he wanted to do the re-measure and also ensured him there was absolutely no product ordered until the measure would be completed. I will be attaching every correspondence and e-mail he has sent to and from Affordable Windows as well as all his paperwork to be reviewed. We would be willing to provide the Revdex.com with any necessary proof of paperwork, text messages and voice-mails to prove that [redacted] is not being honest or forthright in his many complaints voiced to us or the Revdex.com.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

1) Salesperson, [redacted], refused to accept a credit card with the discounted price. Contrary to [redacted] statement that this is company policy, I did ask [redacted] and I was refused. Therefore [redacted] violated company policy.

2) Salesperson, [redacted], refused to allow colors White interior/Desert Sand exterior with the discounted price. I asked and was refused. Desert Sand was stated as a stock color and I was getting a discounted price which reflected using a stock color.

3) I dispute [redacted] assertion that he was calm and polite. Yes, he did not raise his voice nor say anything deliberately offensive, but he states that he "tried to come to a resolution in a kind and respectful manner but [redacted] just wanted to complain." That one statement confirms [redacted] state-of-mind. The customer is complaining therefore I am inconvenienced and offended. Of course I was complaining. Why else would [redacted] be calling? What did he expect from the phone call? A complement?

4) What "resolution" was offered? None. Again, [redacted] offers no resolution in his response statement to the Revdex.com, but a reassertion that he is always right. That is not negotiating a resolution. [redacted] proves here that he has no concept that the customer is always correct. He entered into our phone conversation without an entree and I had to start the conversation with "how may I help you" just to get the conversation going. Mr. [redacted] made no offer of resolution, but was ready to talk-over me as I was trying to relay to him the course of events and why I was dissatisfied and withdrawing. [redacted] had entered into the conversation completely convinced of his correctness and belief that he is always right. His statement "[redacted] was transferred to the co-owner of Affordable Windows after several failed attempts for staff to REASON with [redacted]" is a code word for hysterical behavior and we-are-right-and-you-are-wrong. How did they try to "reason" with me? I was complaining that there was a failure of communication, a cellphone mail box which was full, direct phone numbers given which were not direct numbers, impossible opening hours, conflicting messages about rescheduling and an order already in manufacture, a measure appointment I never made which was a mistake and mix up by Affordable Windows. How is that unreasonable? The minute I said anything or cast what [redacted] considered an aspersions on his company and employees performance, he shut me down. He never started to listen let alone offered a resolution and, again, he is making to offer of resolution in his Revdex.com response statement, but a long treatise of how correct he is.

5) [redacted] again reiterates and confirms that his company has no concern about entering a property to measure without the consent of the owner. He states “[redacted] knocked on the door where he was greeted by the people at the home who allowed him to take the measurements with no message to do otherwise.” As [redacted] had gone to the wrong appointment and wrong address how was I to leave a “message to do otherwise?” Is it not reasonable to expect an address confirmation and to ask to whom he was speaking? To confirm that he was speaking to the homeowner? Apparently, he did neither and [redacted] told me in his phone conversation that this was only an outside measure and [redacted] did not have to intrude. Again, that is a false statement as the rear area is only attainable through the home due to a high wall.

6) [redacted] is also confirming again that he has no idea about customer relations by blaming the customer for not being able to work within their late start opening hours.

[redacted] is withholding the return of my $1,500 deposit when he has confirmed in this BB response statement that no manufacturing had commenced contradicting the voice message left by [redacted] and there is no monetary damage done to his company by this cancellation, to simply prove that he is determined to be right and be monetarily compensated for his ego.

I too will be able to provide all date-and-time-stamped e-mails including voice recordings.

Sincerely,

Response:

I, [redacted] spoke to [redacted], he was to e-mail me whatever date he wanted [redacted] to come out again for a re-measure to make him happy. After our conversation [redacted] expressed no other issues with Affordable Windows other than the re-measure being done without him home. I thought everything was fine and we were on the same page but the next business day he was upset again and left me a frustrated voice-mail at 7am stating he was mad that no one was answering the phones. I am in business class from 6-9am every Monday morning and have no ability to answer my phone. He was also upset because he heard an OLD voice-mail from [redacted] before our Friday conversation that was left right after the re-measure was done just letting [redacted] know the re-measure was completed. [redacted] said in the voice-mail that the people [redacted] met were very sweet and we would get his order in production right away. That voice-mail was left before [redacted] stated his concerns to me about the re-measure taking place without him there. [redacted] has made that message the focus of his complaint and he is using it out of context. The windows were never ordered and his file was pending for a new re-measure date on my desk. [redacted] did offer a resolution to [redacted] to have [redacted] come out any time [redacted] wanted and take care of the re-measure. [redacted] at that time asked for his money back. When [redacted] was told that he was weeks into a contract and his complaint was easily fixed by having [redacted] come out at a later date he began to unload several other issues which he states some here on the Revdex.com for reasons to cancel. Affordable

Windows sets the bar high in customer service and professionalism in every aspect of the business and it is too bad [redacted] has chosen not to give anyone a chance here to resolve anything. If it would be possible for [redacted] to understand that our business hours are from 11am-7pm I know if he gave us a shot to follow through with the contract he would be very pleased with the work we do. I offer as a resolution for [redacted] to be able to use his credit card as payment method, we will change his color options for his windows to whatever standard options are available to all our customers, and finally have [redacted] go out and complete the re-measure with [redacted] present. Our hours of operation are stated online, in our literature and our auto attendant on our phone systems. We cannot change our business hours for [redacted], however I would be willing to work sometime out where I will make myself available after hours for him for any questions he has along the process. I will personally take him through the process till the end to make sure things are done to his satisfaction. I’ll I ask is for [redacted] to be reasonable as we proceed. Affordable Windows hopes this will come to a resolve here. Affordable Windows has nothing more to add to this conversation. Thank you

I attended the stadium Homeshow this last weekend and was blown away with Affordable Windows. The staff working the booth were so nice and full of energy. Their was a young boy dressed in uniform that handed me a flyer and asked if I was looking at replacing my windows. I told him I was and the woman running the space, Jessica set me up with all the information and material I needed for my research. When my husband and I close on our house in August she will be my first call. Wonderful people that really know what they are talking about with great professionalism and an excellent homeshow set up. It really left an impression.

We just had all of our windows and sliding doors replaced by Affordable Windows. They did a great job. The sales person was friendly and not pushy at all. The guy that came to measure was great and on time. The guys that installed the windows were friendly and quick. We love our windows and are so happy that we have them for this hot summer.

Thank You!

Excellent service excellent windows excellent installers ( [redacted] and [redacted])

Of all the quotes we received, they were by far the lowest. The salesman was informative, really new his product. He wasn't "pushy" at all.

We were able to pay half up front and half at the end of the job which I liked very much. They also have financing available which I thought was nice.

They worked around our schedule to do the installation, and I was happy that they do installations on the weekend. No need to take time off of work. The two gentleman that they sent out to do the installation were EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL. I can't stress that enough. They were polite and made sure to clean up after themselves. At the end of the installation they explained everything they did, demonstated how our new windows worked, made sure any and all questions were answered. Again, EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL.

Even the people in their offices who set the appointments were extremely polite and helpful and called to make sure all went well with the installation. For me that was a first. Top notch outfit!

We have been doing alot of different things to our new home lately and my experience with Affordable Windows was by far the best of all of them. From start to finish I have absolutely no complaints what so ever and will recommend them to anyone who is need of their services.

Done a good job
