Due to our workload in the spring, our repair lead times approach weeksThis equals repair jobs per week (repair jobs) we have waiting to be fixedWe estimate completed repair dates by the amount of jobs we have in the service departmentWe make every effort to complete repairs by that dateAlthough this is an estimated date, 5/31/in this case, some times we miss that target dateMr***s repair was completed on 6/1/16, the next dayHe was contacted on 6/2/We inspect each job before contacting the customer.The issues Mr [redacted] had with the mower, after inspection were not manufacture defectsThe mower had an excessive amount of oil in itThis caused the smoking issueAdditionally the oil over full ruined the air filter and spark plugMowers are not shipped from the factory containing oilSomeone overfilled this mower with oilNot the manufacture? of the engine (Briggs and Stratton) or Affton Lawn Equipment.The self propel failure was also not a defectA stick was wedged in the transmission drive pulley, causing the belt to stick and? burn due to its inability to turnWhomever was using the mower must have run over a stick and it became wedged into the drive systemOur shop sees this condition frequentlyHad there been defects covered by warranty Affton Lawn certainly would have been reimbursed by either Briggs and Stratton (engine) or Toro (lawn mower)Affton Lawn does not issue warrantiesThe manufactures, either Briggs and Stratton (engine) or Toro (lawn mower) issue warranties with limitations on their products.We would encourage Mr [redacted] to contact both those company's and see if either or both would offer any policy exceptionsWe would be glad to refund any amount either company compensates Affton Lawn for the repairs.?
