Air 1 Auto and Towing

Went to check on to see if car was doneHe had top of the engine tore apartHusband ask him what he was doingHe said he was going to run a valve pressure test on the vehicleAll you have to do to do this test is to remove spark plugYou don't have to take the engine all apartHe did test or so he saidBut he couldn't tell which valves it was or which head it wasThats what the test is forThen he said he'd have to remove heads and send them out to have new valves put in and heads shavedCost $a headThat didn't include the partsHusband told him he didn't authorize the engine to be tore apartHusband got upset but didn't lose temperHe told him to put it back togetherThe guy want more which didn't include laborSo husband again told him to put the engine back togetherHe refused to buy new gasketsThe book says if you tear it down you have to have new gasketsWhen we got the vehicle back it would not start at allHad to have it towed homeHe came out here Oct 19th drove it up to shop 1/miles awayWe towed it backIt doesn't run at allThe man at Auto Zone said if he drove it with converters & muffler cloged he most likely blew up the motorI'm sending copies he gave meIt's sitting in the garage til we can get new engineHe refuses to pay for the damageHe lied to us and I'm notifying you so he won't do this to anybody elseAny questions please call me at ###-###-####

It never fails, you try to help a customer out, and go the extra mile, and this is the respect I get in returnThe vehicle came in due to the customer replacing several parts themselves, thus never fixing their vehicleThey give me a call, I brought the vehicle in and did a FREE diagnosisI
contacted the customer and let them know they had clogged converters, and give them an ESTIMATE of $Once we removed the customers converters, I noticed excess fuel in the exhaust ports on the front cylinder head, at that time I contacted to the customer and had them come into the shop, so they could see for themselves that the vehicle had more issues that were discoveredI let the customer know that a clogged converter can lead to burnt valves, and I proposed that I do a cylinder leak down test, once again I did this for free of charge because I knew the customer was out of budgetOnce I found of the cylinders were leaking air, I notified the customer that the cylinder head would need removed and sent out to the machine shopThis would cost an additional $to $900, depending on what the machine shop found
The customer at that time told me they could not afford the additional charges and too put their vehicle back to togetherSo I went ahead and replaced the converters and put the vehicle back to togetherUpon pickup of the vehicle, the customer had completely changed their disposition and had turned very hateful toward my business, to the extent in which they tried to take their vehicle without paying the remaining balanceI understand they were upset because the vehicle had more damage than expected, but this isn't my fault or problem, all I do is bring the vehicle in and usually have to be the bearer of the bad newsI don't know why these allegations of used parts being put on their vehicle are being made, I handed their USED parts back to them, which included old converters that were originally on the vehicleThe vehicle will not correctly until the customer has the cylinder heads taken off and sent to a machine shop to be fixed, and then bolted back on with a new head gasket setAgain, I offered this at an; at cost rate to do because I felt bad and do have a heart, however, it seems like there will always be people who are out to get something for nothing, and show no respect what so ever

The matter in which I wrote to you is far from over. The owner of Air 1 Auto and Towing is not reliable. He took us for $1200.00. We had to go to the Bank to refinance the Mazda. They charged me 15.00 to refinance. I had to pay him $800.00 up front for brand new parts. They were not brand new. He got them off E-Bay. Thats what he told the Police officer. He was suppose to be a certified mechanic. He had no certification or diploma of any kind on the wall. He was referred to us by a friend. We trusted her as well as him. Big mistake.  We knew there might be a few problems. But Lo and behold what we incounted was unreal. My husband put a new fuel pump and fuel filter in. Also a new cataylic converter & new muffler. New air filter. It ran but no good. No power. We called the owner of Air 1 Auto & Towing. He said he'd put it on a dyalis machine. It would tell him excatly whats wrong. He said it was the converter & muffler. There is three catalyic converters on a Mazda Tribute. They all were melted shut. He was suppose to tow it to his shop at 350 E. Main St. 17 1/2 miles away. He drove it all the way after we told him it needed towing. We then called him and o.k. him to get brand new parts for it. Not off E-bay and used. We deal with a Auto parts store. Have for year. The parts had a life time warranty on them. E-bay doesn't. Note: he had the car from Oct 19 to Nov 6 of 2015. He calls tow days later and said he needed 800 to 900 more dollars to fix burnt valves and collapsed  lifter. we don't have it. We are both on Social Security. We told him put it back together. We'd take it to a Mazda dealer and get his opinion. He got really nasty. He said to pay him the rest of the $1200.00 or we wasn't getting it back. No if ans or butts. We called teh police. They said it was a civil matter. Pay him and tow the car home and sue him in small claims court. Which we intend to do. It took everything we had saved up. Now we have no money. No running car. It sits in the drive way. I'm at wits end. How can people be so dishonest? I will never refer him to anybody. I don't want to see any one else get took.  Just thinking about it upsets me. We will have no Thanksgiving or No Christmas. We have to save up for a motor. So you asking me if anything been resolved? On his ene I'd say yes. Our End, By No Means! I called Channel 6 News. They called back. They said they would have helped if we hadn't paid for it. We couldn't leave it there. He charges storage fee! Any more questions. Put your self in our place. What would you do?

This is a false complaint made by someone other than the customer. The customer actually was very satisfied with the service. The part WAS bought from dealer, originallygoing to be purchased with [redacted] Kia, however once arriving at their dealership they had sold the part, they were nice enough to...

locate another Fan control module at [redacted] Kialocated on Morse rd., I picked my son up from school early and made the drive back to Columbus personally for the part, you can contact [redacted] Kia and have my permission to attainmy sales record for the part. I also notified the customer upon picking the vehicle up that the module had been so hot it melted a 12v feed to the module and it needed repaired as well, I only charged her for the connector and she went onto explain the next day while we installed the new connector she was very embarrassed by her step father and his actionsat my location. And by the way, I haven't charged anyone this year a total of $300 on an invoice. I would ask of the Revdex.com to speak with the ACTUAL customer on this complaint and herefrom her that her experience here was great, not to mention on a Friday evening when the car was brought in we did everything in our good faith of helping the customer get to her work location in which was 15 miles outside of Chillicothe, This includes me paying an employee $25 out of my pocket to get her to that location, this false claim may be followed up with a defamation suit of my own, I run an honest business with nothing to hide, and do quality work. Thanks,Please contact me at [redacted] with any further questions.
