I have a package that come in from over seas , Ive tracked it the whole way , stuck at home nothing to do . Anyway , I live in colo , I see my package land at O'hare , usps says they are waiting for it to be handed to them in Texas . .. Texas , you are passing Colorado to take my property to Texas , wtf is that?

Additional charges scam
I just received an invoice from Parcel monkey...saying that I was being charged an additional $152.01 shipping charges. The original shipping charge which I paid was $48...The invoice says additional charges for inaccurate weight and or dimensions.. Which is absolutely wrong. I weighed the package 12 pounds and measured the box to within 1/4 inch. So I know for a fact that this is absolutely outrageous! I Typed an inquiry into the Parcel Monkey site, and as yet...5 hours ago...have received no response.. There is indeed some monkey business going on here. There was no air freight..the package was 12 Lbs. from Ga. to Texas via ground to a commercial warehouse address. Something way off here.

Sweater
I ordered a Sweater about 1 month ago. I finally received it today. OMG it honestly the ugliest sweater ever. Extremely poor quality of material. Loose threads all over. I ordered a medium, it looks like a extra, extra, extra JUMBO LARGE. The pockets are down to my knees. They include a piece of paper telling you how to return your merchandise but they don't say who to return it to. NO COMPANY NAME, NO ADDRESS. WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?

I paid the *** seller, (e-retailer) a shipping fee I feel my property was held hostage and the extra fees for delivery to my home were no less than extortion.

Last, I while I received my reel, I never received a written receipt for your services in the mail. Nor did I receive anything from the US. Customs acknowledging that my reel had a customs charge levied upon it. Nor did I receive a receipt for their assessed fees. Considering you acted as my broker in this transaction (without a contract) one would think that you’d want to tidy up loose ends like this.

First, We completely understand [redacted]'s concerns because we have tried to get our UK e-retailers/shipping partners to notify the consumer about the fees. Unfortunately, [redacted] and many others find...

out about duty-fees after the purchase is made. So Im sure it is a shock to them as it would be for me. I tried to explain the fee's in better detail below.
Why Do I have to pay US Customs Duty and related fees?
All parcels with a stated value above $200 entering the United States are subject to the assessment of duties and related fees imposed by the United States Customs and Border Protection Agency. Duties and related fees are imposed to generate revenue for the government and to protect US industries against foreign competition.
Many United States consumers are confused when asked to pay US Customs Duty and related fees. Part of the confusion is that foreign etailers in the past relied on their local postal service to deliver your parcel. The problem is the foreign local postal service utilizes USPS who is required by US Customs law to collect any duty and related fees from you for parcels valued above $200. Unfortunately, US Customs has decided that this process does not work well.
Recently, US Customs has notified the foreign etailer community that failure to follow their procedures will result in significant fines to them. The etailers are now turning to companies like FedEx, UPS, DHL and aircitypost to navigate the US Customs process.
The duties and fees must be paid before parcels are released from US Customs. The charges are based on:
Parcel Value
Trade Agreements
Country of Manufacture
Use of the Product
The Product's Harmonized System Code (HS)
Customs officials assess duties and fees based on information provided by the etailer, the air waybill, the Commercial Invoice and other related documents.
Many times, the US consumer will research the duty charge to discover that there is no duty required (a high performance bicycle tire is a good example) but the related fees are still required primarily due to the parcel being above $200.
What are the fees for?
Merchandise Processing Fee- this is a non-refundable fee charged by US Customs for their administrative expenses. This fee is included on the Customs duty line in your email (this charge occurs even if the duty is free). The rate used is .0364% of the stated parcel value.
Advancement Fee- aircitypost is required to pay the duty and fees in advance on our client's behalf (our client is your etailer). We also pay for a bonded broker to navigate the US Customs process. This fee can be waived if you wish to appear before US Customs in person with the appropriate documentation. If you check the FedEx website you will see the same charge. UPS calls it a Disbursement fee and DHL refers to it as an Administrative fee.
Handling Fee- In order for the broker to navigate the US Customs process, aircitypost provides proper clearance documentation, tracking capabilities, a bonded storage facility, inspection stations and trucking. We also must answer US Customs inquiries and audits.

Review: I purchased a collectable (to me) fishing reel on [redacted] from a seller in the United Kingdom. This company threatens to send back the reel or declare it abandoned unless I pay them $32.00. This amounts to over 15% of the purchase price. They claim it is for custom fees and other related charges (handling charges and advancement fees). I have no problem paying a U.S. Custom fee. I feel their handling and advancement charges, which amount to over 10% of my purchase price, are extortion. They are holding me and other unknowing buyers over a barrel and I never contracted with them. Sincerely, [redacted]Desired Settlement: Refund the S21.50 cents I have to pay for a service the original seller contracted for. I find it ludicrous to be charged 2 times the custom fee to pay the custom fee. I only paid this because I just wanted to get my reel.

If you need anything else, Please let me know.

Best,

Review: Please have aircitypost return a package from an order I placed with [redacted] on ** May 2014. This order was held for US duty Fees as acknowledged by aircitypost in an email to me. The US duty fees were a couple of dollars while aircitypost fees were their standard of approximately $25 which [redacted] was not upfront in disclosing. They only acknowledged that their might be extra fees but didn't convey the costs of aircitypost to collect them or what might trigger them. The email from aircitypost said that if I didn't pay all of the fees they would return the package to [redacted] after 30 days. That is a completely acceptable solution to me since the added fees no longer made the order reasonable. This package hasn't been returned to date. I've responded to their email twice requesting them to return the package but I've never had a response. I also called them directly and the person acknowledged that they were holding packages without returning them and they'd no idea when they might be returned.

I've had numerous transactions with [redacted] that were both more and less than this order and none of them have ever been selected for US Duty Fees. This email which resembles phishing was a complete shock from past experiences.Desired Settlement: Return the package to [redacted] as stated in their email. The original email requested payment of US Duty Fees or they would return the item to [redacted] after 30 days. [redacted] is waiting for the return before they will refund my order.
