Great customer service from the time I called until the installation of our new unit.

I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking to have work done.

A very positive experience having him install a new a/c and heat pump unit in my home, on time, very neat and cleaned up all const debris the entire crew STEVE, WALTER, JOSE, AND GREGG. Most efficient crew in all aspects.

We are very happy with the service and professional commitment this company has

extended to us. They were there when we had an emergency at our home, and have been

with us ever since. My wife and I would highly recommend them to all our friends and family.

Thank You Again, [redacted] & [redacted]

We are very satisfied with Air Control --the serviceman we had was very helpful and gave us both helpful advice and a quote for a new conditioner which we have set up and now they even are giving us a rebate that they went over and above to tell us about. Yes we are happy with your company.

Just had our furnace service. technician was punctual, clean in appearance and very personable. We trust him in our home and would have him back again. He did a great job, as always

Review: To Whom It May Concern: I am 92 years old, live alone and take care of my home myself. What happened to me is horrible and I feel you need to know about it. I was taken advantage of. The serviceman from Air Control forged my name and had my credit card charged for services that I did not authorize and didn't fix the issue I was having with my air conditioner. Description of the experience: July 2015: I called Air Control because I was unable to change the temperature of my air conditioner. The air was still blowing cold as it always had but for some reason I was unable to change the temperature on my thermostat. When the serviceman

arrived, I explained the problem to him and he told me it was not the thermostat and he had to look in the attic. He never even looked at the thermostat. After he came down from the attic, he informed me that Freon was spraying all over the coils and he had to order a part to fix it. He never presented me with an estimate or had me sign an authorization of any kind. He did ask me for my credit card number, which I gave him, and he scribbled the number on an old scrap of paper he had in his pocket and left my home, once again never checking the thermostat. He was at my house for about an hour. Two days later, he returned, didn't check the thermostat, and proceeded to go back in the attic. He still never asked me to sign anything, gave any proof of the actual problem or showed me the part he was replacing. I am a very trusting person so I assumed what he was doing was correct. After about 2 hours he came back into the house and informed me that lowed him $987.00 for that service call and $70 for the initial call. I was shocked at the cost and till had no information on what work had actually been done. After he left, I was still having the exact same problem, couldn't change the temperature. The air was still working the same as it was. I then called the company a third time and told them that the problem was never corrected and they sent out a serviceman who informed me that "everything was

working fine" and left. Once again, he NEVER once checked the thermostat. As I stated earlier, I am 92 years old, very healthy but live in an extremely warm climate (Lake Havasu City, AZ) and rely on my a/c every day to keep my house cool. The weather had reached temperatures well over 100 degrees and I needed to make the house cooler, which I still could not do. At this time, I just figured I would have to

deal with the temperature in the house as it was because I couldn't get it fixed. September 2015: My thermostat went completely black and then I had no air flow at all. I did not have any a/c for over two days (over a weekend) until I could call the company on Monday. The outside temperature was well over 100 degrees and it was VERY warm in my house and not safe for me, especially since I live alone. I called Air Control again and asked them to send a different serviceman out. While I was waiting for the serviceman, my neighbor stopped by and I told him the problems I was having. He immediately replaced the batteries in my thermostat and my a/c started working immediately. I was also able to change the temperature. So as I stated originally, the problem was the thermostat batteries, not the unit in the attic. I tried speaking with the management of Air Control a few times and was told that the manager was on vacation or out of the office. One time his son came on the line and told me that the serviceman did the work and didn't know why I was complaining. Never came out to verify what was actually done. I also asked them to send me a receipt for what they charged to my credit card since I never signed anything authorizing work or was given anything once the serviceman "completed" the work. When I received the copy of the invoice, I saw that the serviceman had forged my signature (which as you can see he printed like a

child). I have included copies of the invoices. You will also notice that there is no indication of the parts replaced or the Freon levels or how much Freon was replaced,

which is supposed to be included if that service was done. This same company replaced my entire a/c unit less than 9 years ago and many of the parts were supposed to be still under warranty per the representative I originally talked to in July. No mention of warranty is on the invoice. I have called the credit card company and stopped payment but am waiting for a resolution from them. I am also submitting a claim to the Consumer Fraud department of the Office of the Arizona Attorney General. When I spoke to the Attorney General's office, they agreed with me that this is age and gender discrimination as well as taking advantage of a senior citizen. Thank you for looking into this company and their bad business practices.Desired Settlement: see Attached document

I made the mistake of not getting a written estimate before letting the technician replace a failed capacitor in my heat pump. The technician, [redacted], was very familiar with the equipment and immediately diagnosed the problem and verbally advised me that it was an easy repair so they would charge the $70 fee for the service call plus a “small” parts charge for the capacitor. He had a replacement capacitor in his truck which he promptly installed. The “small” fee for the capacitor turned out to be $281 so the total cost of the repair cost came to $365.34. I’m an electrical engineer ([redacted] industry) and have seen a lot of capacitors but never one that cost $281. So I called the office manager to see if they might have misplaced the decimal point on the price but she assured me that was their correct price for the capacitor.

The replacement capacitor installed by the technician was manufactured by [redacted] and has a retail list price of $7.09. No one is surprised by the typical 300-500% markup on parts supplied by HVAC repair companies but in this case the markup was about 4,000% so as a matter of principle I just couldn’t do it. The officer manager kindly offered to take the capacitor back if I dropped it by their office, so I purchased another one from one of the other HVAC companies in town and installed it myself in approximately 10 minutes - the retail cost of the capacitor from the other supplier was $37.14, it was still a steep mark up of about 500% but much better than 4000%.

I understand we live in a free society and service providers have the right to charge whatever price they feel the market will bear and to mark up their prices as much as they want. I also understand maintaining an inventory of spare parts costs money. But I just couldn’t live with the idea of paying more for a simple, old-tech capacitor than a state-of-the-art flat screen TV or a flight to Hawaii. I made the mistake of not getting the “small” part cost in writing and for not shopping around to make sure the price was fair and reasonable. Be careful out there!

BEWARE of this company. Rates are extremely high, call other companies to compare rates. They charged us almost twice the market price for the R22 we needed for our AC system. They also said our system was showing signs of leaks, but when asked to show us where the leaks were, the technician was unable to. They just wanted to sell us a new AC system, at a much higher rate than other companies quotes. We had another reputable technician / company check our system and they found no signs of leaks. My advice is to steer clear of this company.

Air Control Air Conditioning has been serving us for over 11 years and we

are very satisfied with their service and prices.
