Did not complete job properly, did not show up in a timely manner, has not proved voided check as promised
Our dryer wasn't drying our clothes completely, so we knew we needed the duct cleaned. I received a coupon in the mail from Air Duct Cleaning of Iowa. I called on 12/12/18 and scheduled an appointment for 12/14/18 .
The Friday of the appointment, the they were scheduled to arrive between 1-2 PM. I took the afternoon off work to be home for the service. At 2:20 I called their office to ask where the tech was. The person who answered said he didn't know but would check and call me back. No call back from their office, but at 3:45 the tech showed up. When I asked why he was over 1.5 hours late, he just looked at me and handed me an invoice.
Since I had already taken the afternoon off, I let him in to clean the duct. I then called Air Duct Cleaning of Iowa office for an explanation and got no answer. I left a message asking them to call me back. I paid the tech who left after about 35 minutes. He cleaned the duct from inside the house but did not go to the roof. When we tried to dry laundry that evening, it was obvious that the cleaning was not done properly as the laundry dried no faster than it had before they did the cleaning.
I called the office again twice on Monday and finally spoke to the manager? around noon. He first mentioned that the tech, Juan, may not have gone on the roof because of the weather (the previous Friday was 40+ degrees, dry and calm). When I made him aware of the weather, he offered to refund my money, or he would come back out with his tech to assure the job was done right. I'm a believer in letting people correct their mistakes so I agreed to let them return. He said he would get back to me to let me know when that same afternoon (Monday 12/17/18) they could come out. By 3:30 I called him again because I had not received a call. He said his tech was busy, but he could "guarantee" that they could be at my home the following day 12/18/18 at 3:30 and I agreed.
The following day 12/18/18 at 4:15 I called because they had not arrived. The manager? said they were really busy, but they were planning to "head over there soon". At this point, I had already taken 2 afternoons out of the office to get this completed. I told him not to come, and to refund my money. He said the check was on his desk and that he would void it and text me a picture of the voided check.
It is now the following day, and I have not seen the picture of the voided check. I have called another service, and they came out and did a great job cleaning the duct, including going to the roof. I watched as they pulled a large mount of lint and dust out of the vent.

I voided check and texted a picture exactly as we had agreed upon. the information in his complaints is false and we will be taking legal action against *** for libel if the false reviews are not removed. There was no charge for the service that was performed. there is nothing else we can do. We have pictures of the check as well as proof that it was sent as agreed upon.
On May 5,2017 Air Duct Cleaning of Iowa came to provide air duct cleaning of our dryer duct. My dryer no longer works.
A technician provided dryer duct cleaning services and payment on May 5. Immediately our dryer stopped drying clothes. According to the manual it was likely clogged. After several attempts to set up a resolution with the company it was still not working on May 27th. I stayed home from work for an appointment they claimed was on another day. They came on a day later but were not allowed into the neighborhood. Attempted later with no equipment so could not resolve the issue claiming there was no exterior vent on the house and finally set up an appointment that I left work for and never showed up. When I called them to find out what happened I was hung up on. We were fed up so we got in the attic ourselves and checked the work. First of all, we found a vent in the roof within 5 minutes and second of all we pulled out a large bucket full of lint from our just cleaned ducts. We are not sure what service was done but it was not duct cleaning. The dryer is working better now but not quite 100%. It probably still clogged at the roof level.
We would just like to be reimbursed so we can hire someone else to finish the work properly
the complaint alleges that we clogged the vent, it was clogged before we got there. Our technician went to the house to do the cleaning and was told the customer did not know where the vent exhausted. He could not find an exhaust on the exterior of the house. Our technician advised the customer that we needed to know where the exhaust was or the only thing we could do is clean it from the inside which could result in an incomplete cleaning. Amy called me saying that the dryer was still not working. I had two trucks out immediately to try and resolve the issue. Amy did not let the guards know we were coming and we were denied entrance. She did not answer her phone while we were there so we had to leave. On another occasion I went back out a third time to try and located the exhaust myself. I inspected the entire exterior of the house and was unable to locate the exhaust. Amy continued to indicated that she also did not know where it was. We scheduled a 4th visit to the house to try and resolve the issue and was not allowed in for a second time. Amy was absolutely never hung up on.

This is incorrect information. The dryer worked perfectly before you came and not at all immediate after you left. I called my gatehouse and they have no record of denying these guys entry but they do have them and on my permanent guest list at the time. They didn't show up as they claim. The technician spoke very little English and looked terrified when I told him he vent was in the roof. There was no communication between us. That is false. This business is poorly run. I don't have time to waste on this. I will share my experience with my neighbors and friends. This is one of the worst run businesses I have ever done business with. I gave them a chance to do the right thing and they have shown their true colors.
my previous account was 100% accurate from my perspective. I was personally there the 2 times we were rejected by the guard tower and I was personally there to inspect the roof and found 0 vents out of the roof.

It appears you will say anything to get out of taking accountability. There is a vent. You are incompetent. Facts are facts. I won't be replying anymore. You have not only a dissatisfied customer now but also someone with a story to share. I never would have filed this complaint if you had done the job I paid you to do correctly. I have no other reason to tell my story. Good luck with you next debacle.
