Air Dynamics Heating & Cooling Reviews (3)

I ordered a part for my furnace on Tuesday, November 19, 2013. I received confirmation of the order by 11am EST in the form of an e-mail receipt. I never received a tracking number for the package to be able to know when it would arrive. The next day, Wednesday, November 20, 2013 I called and spoke to the same person who processed this order at 11:40am. I asked if I could get the tracking number for the package. I was told that the person was on the other line with another customer and he asked if he could call me back and I agreed. I gave him my phone number and waited. I never received a call back on Wednesday. Thursday morning, November 21, 2013 at 9am, I sent an e-mail asking for the tracking number. By 12:30pm I had not received any message and called to talk to someone in person. When I called, the same person I had spoken to prior answered and I was told that he wasn't ignoring me, he did receive my e-mail and he would call me back with the tracking number. At 3:30pm I received a call from the same person I had been speaking to. He told me that the item ordered was not in his stock and he was going to have it shipped from a place in Ohio. So after repeated attempts to attain a tracking number for a package I was under the impression had been shipped, I was told that nothing had been shipped. I have no working furnace at this time while waiting for the parts needed and was trying to set up an appointment with a service person to install the parts as soon as they arrived. I explained this to the person on the phone and was told that is might still get delivered by tomorrow, Friday, November 22, 2013. I have worked for package delivery companies in the past and anything shipped for Ground transport that isn't processed before a certain time will not be processed until the next day. Knowing this I explained to the person on the phone I would have no heat in my house for the weekend, since UPS does not deliver on the weekends, and I would have to wait until at least Monday, November 25, 2013 for the parts to arrive. I was then told that he would try to ship the package with Overnight delivery so it would make it here the next day. I asked for him to confirm this by either calling me or sending me a tracking number by e-mail so I know it would show up, or I would have to make arrangements to heat my house for the weekend without a furnace. As of 7pm, I have not received any call or e-mail to confirm this package has indeed been shipped as an overnight shipment. I can only assume that this package has indeed not been shipped and I will have to live with no heat for the weekend. If the person had told me, in any of the communication between Tuesday or Wednesday that the package had not shipped, I would have made other arrangements to get the parts I needed. This is not a very good example of customer service and I am appalled at the lack of consideration I have been given. I hope you can correct this kind of negligence in the future so as to not lose more potential customers, since I will never deal with this company again once this transaction has finally come to an adequate conclusion. I will not recommend this company to anyone and am very upset with this whole ordeal.

Review: Purchased and received an inducer motor from the business back on October 28, 2014, to replace same unit that had stopped working in our 6 year old furnace. The unit has a 1 year warranty. This item is for a home furnace. It is a small motor with a wheel/fan type apparatus inside of it. During a cold spell several weeks ago we turned furnace on, the spinning wheel started to make a loud metal on metal scraping/vibration sound. This is NOT normal. No one's furnace makes this noise, we discovered it had to do with this part. We called, received a return number and sent back on Sept 28, 2015 for replacement. Mr [redacted] indicated he would call upon receipt, but did not. After our call last week, Mr. [redacted] indicated that he will not return the unit to York for replacement, because "they will just give me a hard time, and I don't see anything wrong with it, why don't you just play around with it and try tightening it up in spots with an Allen wrench". #1 this is not an acceptable answer, #2 we are within the 1 year warranty, #3 the item is defective in some manner. Mr. [redacted] returned the product back to us, the item is now damaged. It appears to have been taken apart, a plastic circular plate is now cracked and broken, this is not how the item was returned to the company. It is evident that someone at Air Dynamics clearly threw the motor back into a box with little to no care. It is the beginning of October, the furnace is unusable without this part. We have two children! Cold weather is right around the corner.Desired Settlement: We desire a replacement warranty part from Air Dynamics or York.

Business

Response:

After close inspection, testing and comparison to a new item it was in my professional opinion that there was nothing wrong with the item returned. I explained to the customer that an item with nothing wrong with it could not be returned to the manufacturer for warranty. I also explained to the customer how to make a minor adjustment to the part that would resolve the issue. Customer refused to except my professional opinion or my recommendations. Item was sent back to the customer in the same condition in which it was received. When the customer received the item it had been damaged during shipment by UPS. This of course is a different issue and the customer has been sent a new part.

Response:

The part that I ordered came in on time. The company tech was very knowledgable and honest. I only have good things to say. Highly recommend this company.
