I'm now unable to trust what the heck is going onEven during the coldest of last winter we did NOT use nearly gals in a month and NEVER HAVEone company I spoke to today said they don't charge $for a next day deliveryAnd with this company God forbid you should run out on a weekend if your short because of their prices as it will cost $extra for running out They not only price gauge but over charge to such an outrageous degree we can no longer afford to have another fuel delivery from themI have to find a way to get a new company bring in tanks during the middle of winter or go without heat at this rateThose companies I spoke to were also outraged for usMy husband works darn hard & long hours to make ends meet as I'm on medical disability and very illI will go without medication to pay this company over $than one and $more than anotherThis is just despicableAfter last year I thought I'd give it another year to see if they would do the same thing and sure enough they haveWhoever reads this think about itwhen a fuel company says $for the same fuel you just paid over $1,forthat is not only price gouging but something is WRONG wHen that fuel didn't last two months and during a warm spell where our heat wasn't even running during the day for a weekEither they've made a huge mistake in the amount they did put in or we are getting billed for something we shouldn't beWe had this company put in a brand new furnace 3yrs agoI won't stay with them another month if I can help it and I will be putting in complaints everywhere I can including the sate and government to not only find out why but I will warn as many people as possible about themI wasn't even aware until last year that we could have their tanks taken out and new replaced with another companyWhen I spoke to the two customer service workers I was treated as though it's tough luck and they were giving up too much just the small $break they felt they could giveWe're we a moneymaker business that's one thing but we are the little people, and we're treated like we have no choice but to basically GIVE AWAY OUR MONEY TO THEMI am one angry customerNot one other person in my entire neighborhood uses Eastern and warned me last year that they'd got their pound of flesh don't give them another chance to rip us offLast year they cost us $for a 24' x 34' homeIn May they charged us $a gallonIN MAY FGSGas had gone way down by that timeOne neighbor paid HALF that amountThat was nearly $for 200gals as opposed to LESS THAN $How can this be allowed??? I will give them a chance to explain just how/why they can get away with this and if there is no resolution I will do everything I can to let the people of NH know how this company operatesThe other companies I called we're not only SHOCKED but we're extremely sympatheticThey asked me the name of the companythey are going to try to help us if need be before we can no longer afford to heat our homeThis is BEYOND despicable PRICE GOUGINGTHIS IS ROBBERY! And, we wonder are they making up for loss of customers due to this and attempting to make it up with existing old timers? If they don't have a good enough explanation for their scam we will make certain they'll have to explain to SOMEONE who can find out and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! Eastern Propane you are highway robbers and treat your long term customers as though you don't care one bitSHAME ON YOU ALL!

June 2014, Purchased a home with Eastern propane tank on property To reimburse seller (previous owner) I needed to pay for fuel in tank to Eastern so they could unlock tank and refund them Eastern said I would receive new customer details in mail...never did, but forgot about it with new house and move I did, however request to be an "on call" customer with no automatic deliveriesOn August 28, 2015, I receive a bill in the mail for a supposed delivery on August 20,2015., no receipt left, or notice given(First weeks vacation away since buying house) ?? They told me that they must deliver once a year, and because I did not use 50+ gal minimum in a year (propane is only for gas cook stove) I had to pay $tank fee This now made my total propane consumed over $a gal!!! Talk about greedy, price gouching of the little guy Called another company that does not have tank rental fee, and gas price with them per gallon is a whopping $per gal LESS!! So, I called Eastern to remove their tank and THEN was informed that there was an $pickup fee, and that they couldn't schedule for days or more OMG! So, called other company back, and they said no worries...we can disconnect Eastern's tank, set aside, and hook you up Also, they do not charge a fee to remove their tank in the future should I discontinue service with them I consider Eastern Propane to have very shady practices..NO RECEIPT of any kind, no time stamp, or start to finish gallon read on a delivery ticket How do I know if they even delivered any propane to me Very bad business, greedy, money grabbing, customer gouging company

*** ***!
We have been on a payment plan for some years with them now with an excellent creditWe had been paying them $a month and use about gallons a yearRecently we got a notice saying we need to send them $a month to "maintain a closer too zero balance account with them" I was debating weather to go on with this when they came and filled our tankThe price of the propane went from $a gallon to $a gallon (average price per gallon around here is $2.09-to $2.19)
( I guess not paying attention to what a company charges that you thought was honorable is a mistake) So I called the company and told them that they could pick up their tank and quite rudely the said that there is an added $reconditioning fee! Talk about adding injury to insult, the tank looked like *** when we got it! When I told her to get it out of my yard as soon as possible, she said it would be at least ten daysI'm surprised its not longer due to the way they treat their customers!
Purchase from them if you will but don't say you haven't warned!

I paid a bill from April about weeks lateOn July 5th neatly weeks after I paid an aggressive debt collector/ technician came to my door demanding a check on the spot or he would disconnect my propaneI told him I would never pay at the door and that no one had ever come to my door demanding paymentThe debt collector was extremely rude and stated this had never happened to him before and that he is 'surprised I ever answer the door' and that I 'should get a peep hole in the door' I called Eastern after I left and complainedThey figured out that they had applied my full payment to the oil acctand not the propaneThe oil acct had a credit balance for the exact amount I owed on propane They said the employee admitted saying the above because he thought I was nervous (more irritated and annoyed)Thaey said the employee was not a debt collector, oh yea demanding payment on the doorstep and threatening to turn off my propane for a bill I paid nearly weeks agoThey praised the employee as one of their best I am finding a new providerI was humiliated and in disbelief they praised the employee for his behavior

Eastern Propane is by far the worst fuel company I have ever dealt with. I’ve always like to deal with woman, sometimes they are much easier to talk to, in my opinion, but when I call eastern propane, I have no desire what so ever to speak to a female. They are nasty and rude! By the time I am done ordering propane my nerves a shot! Every time I call there is a new issue, including price gauging, especially when you have an emergency and have to have an immediate delivery. One woman told me “Oh you need a leek test done, because your tank is empty, that’s another $50.00.” I did not need a leek test done, because the tank was not completely empty. They sent me a card through the mail telling me on how much their prices are when we need an emergency re-fill. It said $100.00 on it, but the girl that I was speaking to decided that she needed to charge me $150.00 more. She also said to me “Oh we can’t deliver to you, because you are COD customer and you were put on a do not deliver on the weekend list.” I have no idea why. I pay for my propane before it comes to my home. I asked for this service, because they kept screwing up my deliveries and telling me that they delivered, when the clearly didn’t, so I told them that I wanted to pay for the deliveries before they came. Because I had done this, they put me on a bad risk category, now every time I speak to a female they give me a hard time. They are rude and nasty to me. I always have to ask for a male to speak to, because by the time I am done speaking to female I am totally drained, ill and nauseous. I am very ill and I literally cannot take it anymore, no matter how hard I try, I can’t be using this company, anymore. They have no bedside manner. The women are nasty and I become and angry person.
I feel that they pick on me, because I have no desire to be on a plan, because of the mistakes that were made in the past. They charge so much, in an emergency! They take advantage of people that are ill or handicapped. They charge some people much more than others. I have done a lot of research. Most of the neighbors, friends and family members that I have, also have the same problem with them. We are all taking another look out there, to see if there is another fuel company that is honest, have integrity, have a well balanced customer service, that we don’t have feel stressed about calling, and doesn’t price gauge us to death. We all have to work hard to make money, and it is totally unfair that we have to put up with people like this. We were willing to work with them; instead they have made our lives a living [redacted]!

I will be filing a complaint however in the meantime should any prospective customers want to know about this company it is only fair they should be warned. We have used Eastern since 1993. Last year, the very first cold spell they gauged their prices that was at the end of November. By December, their prices were nearly $2.00 per gallon more than every other company in the areain one instance over that. It was $463 per gal. They also charge $125.00 if you call in on a Monday for gas on Wednesday or Thursday.
This year it's even worse. We were neglected our regular delivery on November 26, 2014 because they were "busy" with all the power outages. I had paid in $100 towards my first delivery yet ran out on Decmber 5th at nite because they were too busy to make scheduled delivery. I cannot reach to see the numbers on my tanks as I'm too short. So we first had to have a tech come out to check because we smelled gas. They know that happens when the fuel is out. Then, although we were lucky enough to get a delivery relatively soon afterward our tanks could not have been filled because on January 8th they did make a scheduled delivery for 189 gallons. This is a small home AND we had a warm spell in December there is no way we could've used that amount of gas between the 5th and the 8th. Worse still we were charged $3.54 PER gallon. I called about this and was told the best they could do was $3.32 per. They did NOT credit that for December saying they could not yet last year when I called they did go back to December after a third delivery. We were paying the $4.63 gal while our neighbors were getting propane for $2.79 gal. I found out today upon calling other companies that for the two deliveries I just paid over $1,200 should have cost $760.00 at 189.9 PER GALLON. The highest company I found was at 2.45 per with the amount of gas we use. That is still a HUGE DISCREPANCY IN PRICE. we are not a company but homeowners. Also, when I spoke to one customer service person upon complaint she said I'd received 118 gals in Decsecond person said "didn't you get a new tank"? I'm now unable to trust what the heck is going on. Even during the coldest of last winter we did NOT use nearly 200 gals in a month and NEVER HAVE. one company I spoke to today said they don't charge $125.00 for a next day delivery. And with this company God forbid you should run out on a weekend if your short because of their prices as it will cost $150.00 extra for running out. They not only price gauge but over charge to such an outrageous degree we can no longer afford to have another fuel delivery from them. I have to find a way to get a new company bring in tanks during the middle of winter or go without heat at this rate. Those companies I spoke to were also outraged for us. My husband works darn hard & long hours to make ends meet as I'm on medical disability and very ill. I will go without medication to pay this company over $400.00 than one and $350.00 more than another. This is just despicable. After last year I thought I'd give it another year to see if they would do the same thing and sure enough they have. Whoever reads this think about itwhen a fuel company says $760.00 for the same fuel you just paid over $1,200.00 forthat is not only price gouging but something is WRONG wHen that fuel didn't last two months and during a warm spell where our heat wasn't even running during the day for a week. Either they've made a huge mistake in the amount they did put in or we are getting billed for something we shouldn't be. We had this company put in a brand new furnace 3yrs ago. I won't stay with them another month if I can help it and I will be putting in complaints everywhere I can including the sate and government to not only find out why but I will warn as many people as possible about them. I wasn't even aware until last year that we could have their tanks taken out and new replaced with another company. When I spoke to the two customer service workers I was treated as though it's tough luck and they were giving up too much just the small $46.00 break they felt they could give. We're we a moneymaker business that's one thing but we are the little people, and we're treated like we have no choice but to basically GIVE AWAY OUR MONEY TO THEM. I am one angry customer. Not one other person in my entire neighborhood uses Eastern and warned me last year that they'd got their pound of flesh don't give them another chance to rip us off. Last year they cost us $3000.00 for a 24' x 34' home. In May they charged us $339.00 a gallonIN MAY FGS. Gas had gone way down by that time. One neighbor paid HALF that amount. That was nearly $700.00 for 200gals as opposed to LESS THAN $400.00. How can this be allowed??? I will give them a chance to explain just how/why they can get away with this and if there is no resolution I will do everything I can to let the people of NH know how this company operates. The other companies I called we're not only SHOCKED but we're extremely sympathetic. They asked me the name of the companythey are going to try to help us if need be before we can no longer afford to heat our home. This is BEYOND despicable PRICE GOUGING. THIS IS ROBBERY! And, we wonder are they making up for loss of customers due to this and attempting to make it up with existing old timers? If they don't have a good enough explanation for their scam we will make certain they'll have to explain to SOMEONE who can find out and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! Eastern Propane you are highway robbers and treat your long term customers as though you don't care one bit. SHAME ON YOU ALL!
