We refer to your complaint with regard to delayed delivery of your baggage. At the outset we are truly sorry for the inconvenience and hardship you had to undergo during your recent travel with us. This not an excuse, but would like to advise you that due long flying time and winter
weather with potential disturbances of weather expected, Captain had to uplift additional fuel resulting in payload restrictions. Due bad weather our flight AIof January 27, was cancelled and resulted in heavy backlog of passengers. We chose to bring all our passengers but were compelled to leave baggage behind due safety of aircraft.Subsequently on reduced passenger loads we carried all bags in batches as full import was not permissible. However, US Customs at the passenger terminal did not permit us to clear these bags. We then had to seek US Customs assistance at the Cargo Terminal, although they kept the bags for one full day without clearing them. Finally after much persuasion, they agreed to clear the bags from February 5, onwards until February 7, till the final lots of baggage arrived from ***.As and when these bags were being cleared from Customs , we had to segregate them and prepare Baggage Delivery Orders for the courier companies to be delivered to the respective passengersYour baggage was received by us from *** on February 7, and on clearing the same from Customs, we handed over to FedEx late evening the same day. Since FedEx do not have delivery service over the weekend, your bags were delivered to you on Monday, February 9, at p.m.As you were returning to your country in USA, as per our Baggage policy, we regret, we cannot consider your request for compensation. We trust you will appreciate the reasons, for delayed delivery of baggage, was beyond our control, weather related compounded by US Customs not permitting us to clear these bags from Passenger Terminal.Best Regards,

Review: I, Mr. [redacted]r [redacted] and my wife traveled from [redacted], [redacted] to [redacted] on July 31st (Arrived at Newark on Aug 1st). One of our bad was cut using knife or blade and I can make a different between bag damage while moving here and there, and bag is cut by a knife or blade.Once I reached home I noticed that one gift which I got for my son was damage and couple items were missing from the bag. I tried to file a complain at airport but the lady literally didn't want to hear anything. I email the company all the detail but they never reply me back. Can you please guide me how can I file a claim for the bag and damage/missing items? You can reach me at ###-###-#### or email me back with the detail. Please let me know if you need any information.Desired Settlement: Need to file a claim with the Airline and get a refund for Baggage and broken items.

Review: Summary: About 300 missing baggages not delivered from Jan 31st and Feb 1st flights AI191 from India to Newark Airport by Air India as of today Feb 6th and no one is responding to our calls or we cannot leave a voicemail as their voicemail is full.

Hi I arrived to US from India on Sunday Feb 1st and came in Air India. The flight was AI191 from AMD to EWR airport. First the flight was delayed and they made us do security check twice at AMD airport and BOM when there should only be one security check. Then after arriving to US they lost baggages of all passengers from AMD and as of today the baggages are still missing. My aunt who came in Air India on Jan 31st a day before also has her baggages delayed. We all filed complains on missing baggages and are getting no response. We also contact the baggage department of Air India at EWR and no one is answering and their voicemail is full so we cannot leave a message. Their phone number is ###-###-####. Please help us as we are not getting any answers as no one is answering phone call and we even called the Check In Counter of Air India and no one picks up. You can reach out to me for more details. Thanks!Desired Settlement: Deliver every ones bag ASAP and compensate them for the delay for these 6 days.
