Air Masters Heating & Air Conditioning

Air Masters included 20 years of "free" annual air conditioner cleanings and furnace cleanings as part of their new furnace sale to us. We've had nothing but trouble in getting them to honor this commitment.

Each spring and fall it takes multiple phone calls (often unreturned) to get them to schedule these "free" cleanings. Multiple times the appointments created are not kept - leading to wasted time taken off from work to be home during the "scheduled" cleaning.

While we are perhaps unusually persistent in getting them to honor their commitment, buyer beware. This fall we tried to schedule our furnace cleaning over a period of 6 weeks, with more than a half-dozen phone calls, and one appointment where nobody showed up.

Review: Air Master's installed a new heating and central air conditioning system in our house in 2010. At that time we were told that they would have to re-route some things on our electrical panel to make everything fit, including a dehumidifier which is still sitting unopened in the box. They completely tore our electric panel apart, leaving all of the wires exposed until [redacted] could buy the parts and come back to put a new 200 amp service in. On that day, we paid [redacted] $850 in cash to purchase the items needed to install the new electrical service. That was more than 3 years ago, and the items have not been installed nor even delivered so that we could hire somebody else to do the work. As you can imagine, this is a major fire hazard! We have made SEVERAL attempts to contact [redacted] and have given him MANY opportunities to resolve this including picking the items up directly from him, being home to have him drop them off at our house, meeting him anywhere that would be convenient for him, dropping the items at our cottage which is very close to his home or just writing us a check for the full amount of $850. We have also discussed with [redacted] and [redacted], his girlfriend and owner of the company, that he probably never bought the items to begin with and spent the $850 that we gave him. [redacted] has now "caught on" to our phone numbers and refuses to answer our calls or return any messages. We also paid [redacted] another $750 cash in June of 2010 for a used furnace that he was to install in our cottage that is located in Sayner, Wi. Again, he took the money and never returned with the furnace and also refuses to repay that amount of money as well. I have several emails that were sent to me from [redacted] stating that [redacted] does owe us the electric panel for $850 and another $750 for the furnace.Desired Settlement: I want a full cash refund for $850 that was paid for the electric supplies and a full cash refund for $750 for the furnace.

I am deeply sorry for this unfortunate circumstance. I have spoken to [redacted] a number of times. I know he does not have the materials he said he would return. As employee he did not have my permission to take cash from the [redacted]'s. it did not help the matter that the customer and [redacted] became friends on a social basis. [redacted] did do a significant amount of work on their house, roofing, furnace. Because [redacted] accepted money, he needs to return it, I have cooperated with the [redacted]s to resolve, provided telephone numbers for [redacted]. I did tell [redacted] he needs to repay the customer, or it is likely he will end up in small claims court!
