Mr., thank you for sharing your experience with us. We apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced. We pride ourselves on providing the best service. We would be more than happy to make the repair for you at your convenience! Please give us a call at 941 739-1511 to schedule. Thank you for the review, hope to hear from you soon.

Purchased an AC system about two years ago and had an issue for the first year. It took several occasions for someone to figure out the problem and want to replace the electrical board on the AC. Each time the power went out the AC would not start again. Being this is Florida, the power goes out in the summer.

Even though it took a while for Air Now to figure out how to fix my brand new AC system, I stuck with them.

I recently called to get my yearly AC tune-up and scheduled an appointment about a week in advance. I was told someone would be arriving between 10am and 12pm. The day before the appointment I was called and told the appointment I had would need to be canceled and rescheduled.

I rescheduled the original appointment to the following week between 12pm and 2pm. The day of the appointment I was called at 2pm to let me know the AC technician was not going to make it. Well, he had not arrived yet so I figure this was the case. The person on the phone handling customer service told me I was the next appointment, but could not tell me when the AC person would be arriving.

I spoke with Amber that let me know my AC tech would not be here on time and she really didn't know when he would be arriving. I explained that I understand things happen, but I was canceled on once and then a no show for the second time scheduled. I had to take a window in my schedule that was twice now not fulfilled for AC service.

Rather than trying to retain me as a customer I was presented with excuses as to why the AC person did not show up. I was not given any solutions on how to correct the issue or retain me as a customer.

Very poor customer service and not reliable. It also may be questionable as to if some of the AC technicians know what they are doing.

I will be going someplace else in the future for my AC service.

Will NEVER use this company ever again. I wish I could give them a 0!!! Years ago, I had a great tech, Phillip from this company who provided excellent service but in the past couple of years it has been all about what they can sell....selling their products and not servicing the clients. I recently had a service call due to my unit was not cooling our house and they tried to tell me that there was nothing wrong with my a/c and that it was not cooling due to needing a new thermostat, insulation and that my duct work was leaking and left without fixing the problem. This company left us without taking care of the cooling issue because they could not figure out the problem. We ended up having to call another company to handle the issue at hand and was told that we did not need a new thermostat, that our insulation was fine and that are duct work was not leaking at all but that we were low on Freon. Incidentally, our duct work is only a few years old and I had FPL do an inspection a few years back telling me that my insulation was sufficient. My husband also told me that he remembers that the tech from Air Now let out some of the Freon when he was there and my husband questioned why....he told him that he didn't, that the noise he was hearing was a normal process when servicing the unit.....he lied and this was verified by the other company that serviced our a/c and had to ad Freon. The unit has been working fine ever since!!! Again, I will NEVER use Air Now again.

Air Now not honoring their service contract claiming I have not settled an outstanding bill which I felt was wrongly billed.
I have a Maintenance Contract with Air Now. My air conditioner was out of order on a Sunday. I called them. They sent a technician who showed up after 5 p.m. and said it's the blower problem but he could not have it fixed until Monday, anyway since he needs to get the part on Monday. For him to show up after 5:00 p.m. to tell me my air conditioner is not working (I can tell him that and I am no expert, there is no cold air!!!). NO ONE from the company informed me (when I called) that for the technician to show up on a weekend I have to pay a trip charge ($99). Had they told me, I would not have placed an order for him to come on a Sunday (I have the good sense to know even if he fixes it on the spot, I gain the use of the air conditioner for a few hours). Why would I want to pay a trip charge of $99 for that?????
From their point of view, this is an outstanding bill.
When it's time for them to come and do their regular maintenance as agreed on the contract, they made an appointment with me and then simply NO SHOW. I CALLED them, they did not call me, I CALLED THEM after they did not show. The receptionist simply said because I did not pay the outstanding bill, they are not coming.
After quite some long conversation, for the sake of peace-keeping, I suggested I will pay half of the $99 bill since I do not feel that the fault is wholly mine. They said they will call me back. THEY NEVER DID.
They keep my money for outstanding maintenance that is due me and simply do not honor the contract.
SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM THAT I AM OFFERING: THEY NEED TO PAY ME THE BALANCE OF MY MAINTENANCE CONTRACT WITHOUT DEDUCTING THE TRIP CHARGE ($99).
I find this company very poor in their customer service, very arrogant in their ways when dealing with customers. They do not serve their customers. I, the customer have to chase after them. Of course I have to, since they keep the money and not honoring the contract. I do not want to suffer loss. Who does?
PLEASE HELP TO MEDIATE THIS ISSUE. THANK YOU.

Desired Outcome

THAT AIR NOW SHOULD REFUND THE BALANCE OF MY MAINTENANCE CONTRACT WITHOUT DEDUCTING THE UNREASONABLY CHARGED TRIP CHARGE OF $99.

Obviously Air Now is taking advantage of the system. They took the full time limit allowed for them to reply and they replied in a 'diplomatic' way - meaning offering no real solution at all. They simply said they are going to reach out to me. If they are sincere, would they not have done it well before the deadline for them to respond? I have laid out my request very simply and they don't want to comply but simply said they are going to reach out to me. For what? I told them what I want, they should simply do what I want. Their 'diplomatic' answer is perhaps instructed by their lawyer to give an answer that is no answer at all and they are not doing what the client requested. Air Now is trying to waste my time and the time of Revdex.com. Could Revdex.com not see this and try to intervene in the most efficient way? I have no desire to let this matter continue and continue and get no where. It is the descent thing for Air Now to do to comply with what I requested and we will call it quit. PLEASE, Revdex.com, I implore you to function as what Revdex.com is set up to function: to get results and not let people play the system. Thank you

I am saying NO for now because I am traveling and have not seen any 'check' in the mail. Besides I have to see what have they deducted. They could simply keep most of my money and send me an amount which is unfair and insulting to me. We will have to see the check first before I can say I am fully satisfied with the answer. Thank you.

On May 18, 2017 Air Now installed an AC unit by York. It took three inspections for it to pass. I have no paperwork for these visits. On July 10, 2018 the system failed. Air Now stated there was a problem with soldered joint. I was charged $44. On July 12, 2019, the system failed again. The refrigerant escaped and would not cool. The technician found the leak and made a repair to the muffler. This visit cost $327. A few days later I called Air Now asking how the refrigerant could leak three times and no one returned my call. I then contacted York and was informed the warranty was thru York, not Air Now.

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) I would like a refund of $371 for the repair charges.

After review of this complaint we have refunded all the customers money. We are sorry for the misunderstanding in this matter.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Dear ***
We received a check from AirNow for $371.
I feel that having the system inspected 3 times by Manatee county was unacceptable. A terrible waste of our time!
We were given a certificate for our warranty which states that we have a 10 year parts warranty from York and a 5 year warranty on labor from Air Now. (See original paperwork). This is the reason we continued to use AirNow. When I contacted York I was told both parts and labor warranty are from York. Very misleading!
When our system was installed we received a nice letter from AirNow/Jack E. thanking us for the business and if we had any questions to contact them. The week after our 7/12/19 repair I called AirNow 3 times for an explanation of the charges. I received no return call.
In their response AirNow said they were sorry for the misunderstanding. I do not know what they misunderstood, the entire matter seems to be very clear.
So, Ms. I find their response to be unacceptable! I have reread my original letter and I think AirNow is again coming up short.
If there is a need, I have a number of pictures which were taken during the work process.

Mr.

I am sorry for all the trouble we at AirNow have caused you and your family. The misunderstanding I mention was on the part of my employees not you. You mentioned that the warranty letter was miss leading. That statement is on there because Florida law requires the contractor to warranty the system for the first year with or without factory support. Again if I can help in any way please contact me at ***@hotmail.com directly. Thank you for your time in this matter.

Customer Response • Sep 28, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Mr. E. states that Florida law requires a 1 year warranty,
However, the certificate I was given from air now states that York is responsible for parts for 10 years and Air now is responsible for 5 years labor. This is misleading, first of all, the certificate makes no reference to York being responsible for labor for 5 years, according to Mr. E. Florida law requires
Air now to be responsible for one year. The certificate should
fully state who is responsible for the warranty. Secondly, the
reason we continued to use air now was what was stated on the certificate. (Please refer to the copy of the certificate I
Enclosed with the orginial paperwork). /
We had to have the original work inspected by Manatee county 3 times. Air now then came to address issues 2 more
times, with a variety of charges. If I had not looked into the matter further at this point we would still be usingAir Now and I
wonder what additional charges we would have incurred.
Mr.E. also states in his response, please call if he can help. I did call, 3 times in one week (see original paperwork)
but none of my calls were returned. I wanted clarification of the charges we we're incurring. I am not even going to go into
the conversations I had with the technician because Thatwould be a "he said, he said".
I would ask that you refer to my original complaint, all we wanted was to be treated fairly and honestly and have an HVAC system we could count on.

Rest assure that AirNow and York will fully honor any warranty need on your Ac system at no cost to you as stated in your agreement. I can not make the past go away we can only work on the future. Thank You.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Well, I guess, it is what it is.

I have been using Air Now since 2011 and I am extremely satisfied with all aspects of the company. Customer service is courteous, response time in an emergency is very quick and my service technician Daníel is the best.

They have always been friendly and accommodating.

We have been an Air Now customer 13 yrs. Service was always good, however last service call 6/16 a part was replaced that was under warranty. The unit was purchased 2015. I was extremely upset to be charged $95. A restocking fee for the part that was under warranty. I feel there shouldn't be a charge for a part under warranty.

If I could leave a 0 star I would. Paid for a 10kw vertical split air handler, however Airnow techs "know only enough about electric to not kill themselves" as stated by one of their techs that came out. Airnow installed a 5kw vertical split after I paid for a 10kw to try to dumb the system down a bit in order to get the system installed on old electrical that could not handle the 10kw. An inside and out AC install job done by one guy, no helper and it took him a god awful amount of time. Not to mention the techs own AC at home was broke and was in a frantic hurry from the start. One year later and I have been unknowingly experiencing voltage overload from the AC disconnect electrical that was dangerous to hook to to being with bacl and forth from the main panel of the house causing further extensive electrical damage. Pictures are to show the danger this caused for me and my family That could happen to yours as well if you use an AC company that literally tells you after install that they are not certified in electric. The company breached contract, violated electrical UL code, violated DBPR licensing guidelines and so much more. I will be following up with litigation and taking this to the full extremity of the law. I just don't want this to happen to another family in the surrounding Sarasota area in the mean time.
