On October 10,2015 I received a call from the customer who filed the complaint. The customer told me over the phone before I came...

to her home, that after she turns her furnace on in the fall, a couple weeks after turning it on she experiences dizziness and headaches. She continued to tell me when spring comes and she turns her furnace off the dizziness and headaches stop after a few weeks. I came to her home, she repeated her concerns about the dizziness and headaches. I took carbon monoxide readings at her living room vent and received readings of 008ppm. I explained to her that even though the readings were low, I explained that every year people loose their lives to carbon monoxide poisoning. The nature of a heat exchanger is that as it heats up it will expand and contract. I have no way of knowing when a crack can expand to the point where her life would be at risk. Again, I explained this thoroughly to the client and spent an hour at her home. I am an ethical business man and always warn my clients when I detect a risk that could harm them or their family. I would like to see copies of the two other companies, the fire department, and gas company. During the process of taking the readings, the client was standing next to me and I showed her the readings. I would be happy to supply the invoice stating in detail what I have expressed in this response. The client is provided a copy and also signs the invoice. I believe I supplied excellent service at a reduced price for the client. I could not sleep at night if I did not conduct my business in this manner. I would rather error on the side of caution than to take a chance with someone's life. I even suggested to her to call the fire department and have them come out. They will do that at no cost to the client. I would also like to mention that her furnace had not been turned on until I came for the service call. I ran her furnace for 15 minutes. She was afraid to turn it back on. When the fire department comes out ( my brother is a 25 year veteran fire fighter) they walk around the rooms in the home and take readings. Of course they are not going to detect carbon monoxide because the furnace had been off all summer and was only on for the 15 minutes while I did my carbon monoxide tests. In conclusion, I am not willing to refund the service fee.
