Pick up from Berkeley, CA, USA on 23rd Dec Shipment received in Ahmedabad, India on 2nd June We strongly discourage everyone from using the services of AIR SEAS Transport Logistics Inc USAWe have spent months dealing with them and have had an extremely unpleasant experienceAll their employees both in the USA and in India, have constantly given us wrong and misleading information about delivery dates and ludicrous excuses every time they have not kept their word Our shipment was picked up from Berkeley, CA, USA on 23rd Dec A7S was not able to explain what happened to our shipment between Dec and Feb (~ weeks) since pick-upOn Mar 12, A7S informed us that our shipment had been stuck at US customs for days i.efrom Feb but has now been released and will leave port in days (i.eMar 14)After an unexplained delay of another days, the shipment was loaded on Mar The ship reached Nhava Sheva, India as promised on May 2; total sailing time was weeksNow End2End took overApparently we were unlucky yet again and there was "port congestion"Our assessment was finally done on May 22nd, days after the shipment arrivedAhmedabad is ~ hrs from Mumbai; however, although many of the reviews claim to have obtained their shipment within a day of customs clearance, we did not receive our stuff till June, after another day delayI attach a detailed timeline below When we made our initial contact, A7S sent us a 77-page compilation of customer reviews they have received in their 28+ years of serviceSurprisingly *all [redacted] the reviews are very positive! Everyone seems to receive their shipment in the claimed 10-weeksWe understand that the 22-day delay by US customs and the 20-day delay by Indian customs is not in anyone's handsHowever, inspite of multiple emails and phone calls we are unable to fully understand any of the other delays, which totals about days or almost weeks This entire experience has been an ordealWe were not prepared to live without our essential stuff for almost half a year; moreover we have had to constantly worry about our shipment, while settling in new jobs in a new placeAll this stress is totally uncalled for as we have paid A7S a lot of money (~ 1700$) to ship used household goods like books, clothes and utensils We would like to point though, the few things that were smooth: We were able to efficiently track the ship once it left the US and till it reached IndiaThey kept their word and reached on 2nd May as they predictedAlso, A7S has not charged us anything beyond what they claimed and we were extremely glad to know that no "bribes" had to be paid at customsThis is heartening, especially since we were not physically present in Mumbai and the A7S agent took care of everythingAnd except missing box, all other boxes were received in good shape
