We just had an old sump pump removed and a new one installed by Thornton Plumbing today, 2/23/The two guys that serviced us were very nice, provided information about the way the system should work and were out in about minutes Paid $for the new system Overall happy with the service provided
I called Thornton's Plumbing on Tuesday, 2/21/as my water was not getting hot, at that time it was just lukewarmI spoke to the person on the phone for minutes and seconds and scheduled for them to come take a look at it on Friday, 2/24/As we ended the call, the man stated that he would waive my $consultation fee (which I was not made aware of at the beginning of the call) since I have used them in the past...they replaced my water softener a year or so priorOn Wednesday, 2/22/I called them back to see if I could move my appointment from Friday to Thursday 2/23/because by this time my water was cold Today, on 2/23/I was given a courtesy call that they were on their way, and they arrived within the promised 2-hour windowThe two technicians put on their boot covers, which I appreciated, before they walked in my home We went to the basement where I showed them the water heater They looked at it for a few minutes and told me that the hosing on the top was bad and that the glass tank on the inside was more than likely fractured They gave me a repair option of a $"band-aid" in which I would have to sign a waiver freeing them from any liability if it did not work or I could replace the tank for around $or get a tankless water heater installed for $I asked if I could make a few phone calls and they politely obliged Upon my phone calls with some trusted folks, I was lead to believe that paying that much money for either a repair or a replacement was too much, and I was about to be overcharged Heeding their advice, I politely asked the technicians how much it would be for them to just leave and they advised that the diagnostic visit fee was $ I wrote them a check and they went on their way Later that afternoon, I had a different plumber come take a look at it and he told me that just the thermostats went bad and the repair would be right around $He replaced them and now I have hot waterI felt a bit taken advantage of - whether they knew it or not - Thornton plumbing was about to overcharge me when just a simple fix was in order My house was built in so the hot water heater was not yet years oldI'm glad I trusted my judgment to get a second opinion, I was about to spend a ridiculous amount of unnecessary moneyEither the technicians were not properly trained to diagnose a simple hot water heater repair or they were purposely trying to take advantage of me - unfortunately we'll never know
Thornton's is the only plumber I trustNot only do they provide great service, but they do it with kindness and compassionThey have done minor and major repairs for us, and we have always been more than pleased with them and their work
They wee here for less than minutes and charged me $to replace one degree copper elbow in a water softener drain line during business hours scheduled in advance Ridiculous!!!!!
Andrew worked on my air conditioning unit at my former house and installed a newer
one for me when the old one no longer worked Everything worked greatHe's very trustworthy and fairI have moved and own a house, that also has an old air conditioner
Today he came out and cleaned my old unitIt was really dirty even infested with ants! He cleaned it out well and got it working again When the time comes I will definitely have him install a new unitHe's a very hard worker and has fair and honest prices
Andrew did an excellent job helping us understand our best AC option as well as a flawless installationHis prices are extremely reasonable as well All in all an excellent experience with an owner who take pride in taking care of his customer I would highly recommend!
On 12/Thornton Plumbing provided the following "Nature of Service From Invoice: Cut out to tiles on shower side of master bath remove tiles Install new cust supplied Delta shower kitCust resp for tile work + Install trim kit."
tile was removed and the Delta turn dial handle that controls on / off + water temp was installed
Thornton Plumbing workers arrived as scheduled on 12/and determined they needed to call an associate to bring a tile cutter to cut tile from shower wall (approx12") Thornton Plumbing Personal were needed to remove tile and install the turn dial (which we purchased at Lowes as DIY install kit.) Total Time of Work: hours
My husband paid at the time service was complete: &(there was an additional 3% to use a credit card) since he was nervous that the shower handle was in our master bathroom

Whenever I have a heat/air or car repair, I'm leery of the service techs "claims" of what I need to be fixed With Air Time, I was SHOWN what the issues were with my a/c, explained the cause and effect So, I knew exactly what was done, why it was done and nothing more than what needed to be done Very patient Tech, explained it all in simple terms for me to understand Then I got my invoice, pleased to find I was not overcharged or nickeled and dimed I will be calling this company come winter for service to my heating unit stars, would give if I had the option
My central AC went out a few days before a major heat wave hitAnother company came out to repair the unit but determined it was a dead compressor (it was 20+ years old)I called Andrew for a 2nd opinion He came out immediately and tried to fix it but concurred it was in fact not repairable He did this 2nd opinion visit for $-0- He then was able to get a new unit installed the very next day for a great price! He and his assistant did a wonderful job installing the unit and cleaning up afterwards He even came back a few days later to check on the unit and install a new thermostat at no additional charge I highly recommend him!
