Revdex.com:To whom it may concern: My telephone service provider, Verizon, to the best of my knowledge, does not have any record of Air Works calling me back, to void this charge, or having called me for any reason. To the best of my knowledge, I have never received any message stating that the bill would be voided.
I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. If the company does not perform as promised I can get back to you at: [redacted]

Review: On February 9, 2015 I engaged Air Work of Virginia in agreement with [redacted] to have duck work checked for leaks , loose seals, etc. The man performing the work is Shane. This work was in cooperation with Dom. Power. They were responsible to pay Air Work $90.00.On April 3, 2015: Shane of Air Works came to my home and said he checked my air conditioning unit.He then proceeded to convince me to buy a service contract in the amount of $ 200.00 which I did. He instructed me to call him in the coming fall for the oil furnace and heat pump check up. Early October I called Air Works to schedule appointment for that service. I was toldby the woman who answered the telephone that the service man would be here between 2&4pm on October23. He did not show up.Since that was on a Friday I waited until Monday October 26 and called Air Works to get new date for the promised work to be done. The woman said she would have to call him toget a new date and that she would call me back. She did not call me back.I tried calling Air Works numerous times and each time I received a recording asking to leave my name and number. I did this on numerous times with no response and. I feel Iam entitled to a refund at least in the amount of $ 100.00. I would not want this personto perform and kind of work in my home after the shoddy way the business is run. Thiscompany is obviously a scam, working out of their home and they need to be revealed asscammers. I would hate to see other elderly, disabled people lose money to this scam.Desired Settlement: The only way this can be resolved with me is a refund. As I said I don't trust these people to perform work on any of my property

Review: On 6/24/13 my air conditioner unit failed. I have a home warranty through [redacted] so I contacted them. Since Air Works was in their network they contacted to them to come to find the problem. Air Works came to my home on 6/25/13. At that time I paid them $100.00 which is my deductible. It was determined the outside unit and the air handler in the attic needed to be replaced. Air works replaced the units on 7/2/13. At that time I paid Air works $185.00 for a secondary drain pan, disposal of the old unit, duct work and drain line that was not covered under the warranty. On 7/3/13 my husband went into the attic to check what was done and discovered that not only did Air Works not install a new drain pan they did not connect the line. They had put the new unit on the old drain pan was to small for the new unit. I then called [redacted] the owner of Air Works and told him what we had discovered. I asked him what he was going to do about it and he said he would have to fix it, I asked him if he could give me a date and time and he said no. To date I have not heard back from him. On 7/5/13 I contacted [redacted] to report the issue. They were no help in resolving this. I was concerned about not having a drain pan in case the AC failed and no drain pan the water could make my ceiling cave in so I called [redacted] to come out and install the correct size drain pan and connect the line. They confirmed a new drain pan was not installed or connected and in addition when the new unit was installed the ductwork had been crushed and created gaps around the collars and the return was pulling air from the attic. The cost was $813.00 to fix the problems Air Works caused.Desired Settlement: I feel Air Works should reimburse me for the $813.00 I had to pay to correct the problems they caused during the installation as well as $110.00 the money I paid for a drain pan, duct work and drain line. I would appreciate any help you can provide.

Review: • On Monday 06/09/14 I made an appointment with Air Works for someone to check the AC on my HVAC unit. I advised the woman who answered my call that I have a two level home with two units. The unit responsible for the top level of my home was blowing out hot air. The rep told me the first available appointment was Wednesday 06/11/14 at 3:00pm. I had my Mother take off of work early to stay at my home for the repair person arrival. There was a no show or no call at 3:00pm. I called Air Works and received the voicemail. I left a message stating that my appointment was set for today at 3:00pm, but no one has arrived and to please give me a call to advise.

• At 6:28pm I received a call from [redacted] of Air Works stating that he was running late but was on his way. I asked him if he would like to reschedule since it was late, he advised no, if the time works for me then he was okay to come out. I advised that would be fine.

• [redacted] arrived at my home around 7:15 pm. Upon his arrival, he reviewed my thermostats and reviewed my unit outside. He advised that my unit was pushing out heat instead of cold air, as if the unit was not processing the difference. [redacted] advised that my defrost board was out, and that would need to be replaced. He advised that he was not certain that the defrost board being out was the problem, but it needed to be fix in order for him to find the true problem. He stated he would order the part. I asked him for a price quote on the defrost board and he advised $400.00. I told [redacted] that I couldn’t afford the $400 part right now, but questioned was there anything else that can be done in the meantime to buy me some time to get the funds to pay for the part. [redacted] advised yes, and easy fix would be to wire my unit so that it would only blow out cold air. [redacted] advised when winter arrives, I would need the defrost board replaced or the unit rewired so that the heating option would be used. I advised the [redacted] that was okay.

• [redacted] stated he completed the wiring, and guaranteed me that my unit would work as normal (blow out cold air) and turn on and off as it always has and it would not affect my electricity bill.

• [redacted] charged me $160.00, in which he stated was for a trip charge and completing the wire service. I gave him my bank card number he wrote up an invoice and left.

• I allowed the unit to run for roughly 2 hours and it continued to blow out hot air.

• Around 9 pm, I sent Air Works an email outlining the scenario as mentioned above and requesting someone to give me a call asap. I also questioned why I was charge a trip fee and a service fee when the website states that estimates are free.

• On 06/12/14 I attempted to reach out to Air Works at [redacted] on several occasions and only got the voicemail. I had my step father, [redacted] reach out to Air Works, and he spoke to the receptionist. The Receptionist stated the manager was in a meeting and [redacted] was unavailable. She advised that she would have them call back as soon as possible.

• The manager nor [redacted] returned my step father or my calls.

• Afraid that my unit would break- I turned it off and reached out to another HVAC Company (referred to me by a friend)

• I also reached out to [redacted] and requested my debt card be cancelled due to the job not being completed , the questionable charge and the no response from the Air Works Manager or [redacted]

• To date I have not received a call from the manager of Air Works or [redacted]

I had to have another repair company come out to repair my unit.Desired Settlement: Since [redacted] did not complete the repairs as he stated he did, I do not believe I should be charged for any service. I reached out to the company via email and phone on several attempts, and the company has not reached back out to me. In addition, [redacted] stated he was charging me a trip charge fee, when the website clearly states that estimates are free.

The business reached out to the Revdex.com to respond:

Yes we do offer free estimates on getting an estimate to get a new unit replacement or to redo duct work, etc. To have the truck and technician come out to a customers house for aservice call, we have to charge for the trip in the amt of $80. The card however, was never attempted to be charged. As far as [redacted] the technician, he no longer works for us anymore and we have recruited other technicians. I sincerely do apologize for all of this confusion.

Review: On June 11, 2015 (Invoice #[redacted]) Air Works billed us for two service calls; 1) Residential Service Call/Diagostic for $80.00 and 2) Evaporator Coil Leaking Replacement for $80.00. I paid the total bill $160.00 on June 15, 2015, check #5936. When I spoke with their office to ask when they would be replacing the leaking coil, I was told I would have to purchase the coil from the distributor myself, have it sent to my home and then they would install it. My husband has chronic heart issues and that was not an option for me. I discovered Air Works is not able to purchase parts for my unit from the distributor, so I contacted another HVAC company that is recognized by the distributor and had the coil replaced within two days. Air Works had serviced our HVAC units for the past several years and we were not aware they were not recognized by the distributorship. I called Air Works and spoke with a female in their office and asked for a refund of $80.00 since they did not preform that service. She told me I was due a refund and she would have the owner sign a check that week. To date, I have not received that refund. On August 27, 2015, I sent Air Works and email telling them again I had not received the refund and if I didn't receive it within a week, I would be filing a complaint with the Revdex.com. I have heard nothing from them.Desired Settlement: Refund of $80.00

Regards,

Review: Hello. I would like to give some background to my complaint, to put it into context. A few years ago, my brother used this company's services to install some HVAC equipment, he was very pleased with their service. A few months after that, I needed to replace my HVAC equipment, so I decided to use this company, I was very pleased with the service. Fast forward a few months ago, I notice the smell of mold underneath my house, I looked, and saw some joints that were loose, and could have been the main cause of the moisture. I called [redacted], the owner of Air Works, who had done the HVAC work for me and asked for some advice, he suggested that I look under my house and tighten any loose joints, I found some loose joints, after tightening them, and after checking a couple of times, I did not notice any leaks. During that conversation, he told me that if I was having any problems, where I thought something was leaking, he would not mind coming out and doing a courtesy check/for free. A few days ago, I noticed the smell underneath my house again, so I called their main number [redacted] on 4-15-14, and explained to the secretary, about what [redacted] had offered me a few months ago, she said that she would get in contact with me after she spoke with him, and we would go from there. I got in contact with her again, and she said she would be sending a tech, [redacted]. I spoke with the tech, and told him, that this would be a courtesy check, according to [redacted]. The tech, checked the plumbing underneath my house, and said that Air Works does not do plumbing, I explained I was aware of this, and that [redacted] said he would simply help find the leak. The tech could not find any leak, and said only that the most likely cause of the smell is due to the topography. At the end, he said that it would cost $80 for the diagnostic fee. I refused to pay, explaining the initial arrangement I had with [redacted], and the fact that I told the secretary and him, that this is supposed to be a free check, prior to any work starting. The whole time yesterday, I was not able to get in contact with [redacted]. Both the secretary and the tech, told me that they were in contact with [redacted], while the process was being moved along.Desired Settlement: I am very dissapointed in how this was handled by [redacted]/ Air Works. I refuse to pay this $80 diagnostic fee, or any fees associated with yesterdays Air Works visit.
