Complaint: ***
September 4, 2016To: Revdex.comThis letter is in response to A.Q.MInc.’s August 26, response to the complaint I filed with the Revdex.com on August 8, The issue is with the placement of the cooling unit and what I and my tenant were told prior to the installationI was informed that the new unit would reduce the “head room” in the master closet of my condoA reasonable interpretation of this statement is that the height of the new unit would be lower than the old oneThis was reinforced by A.Q.M.’s statement to me that I might have to redo the ceiling in the closetWhen informed that the unit could not be replaced in kind, A.Q.Mtold my tenant that they could locate the larger unit in a second closetInstead, A.Q.Mplaced the main unit in the master closet making it essentially unusableUpon learning that the agreed upon installation was not performed as I and my tenant were told, I contacted MrD*** and asked him to move the unit to reflect what he verbally committed to both me and my tenantI should not have to pay again to get the job completed in the manner represented to me.I have additional issues with the statements in MrD***’s letter, including the fact that a hour delay in follow up by A.Q.Mexacerbated the conditions for my tenantAlso, if A.Q.Mwas really convinced that the unit was terminal they should not have charged the unit twice with refrigerant. In conclusion, I do not accept the response by A.Q.MI was charged for and I have now paid for the complete job even though it was not completed to my satisfaction or as agreedAn upstanding company concerned about its integrity and reputation as a customer focused organization would go back and complete the job as represented by the company’s President, MrJoseph D***I hope A.Q.Mis such a company.Sincerely,

August 26, 2016To Whom It May Concern,A.Q.M. Inc. did absolutely install a brand new air conditioning system in a rental unit owned by the individual initiating this complaint. It is true that we were unable to install the unit without losing headroom and this was due to the fact that the unit we...

were replacing was over 30 years old. The company, [redacted], has not made that model at that size for at least 15 years. That being said, any brand would have caused the ceiling to be much lower after the installation. During the initial walk through for the estimate, this fact was discussed with both the homeowner and the tenant and was made very clear.A.Q.M. fit this install in on an emergency basis due to fact it was one of the hottest weeks ever recorded in our area. The temperatures were in excess of 95 degrees with high humidity. The homeowner had known for quite some time the unit would need to be replaced as the system had been having mechanical problems and refrigerant leaks for at least the last 4 years. Even up until the unit was installed it appeared that the homeowner was more concerned with reducing the cost of the system than the fact his tenant needed a working system. In closing we would like to say that we can come out and relocate the system, this however would be at an additional cost. Our company did exactly what we said we would do from the beginning. We do not believe it is our responsibility to bear the cost of relocating the system when all parties involved knew where it would be placed and the reason why.Thank you, Joe D. President

AQM installed a new $8,000+ HVAC system incorrectly causing both the auxiliary heater and the air conditioner to run 24/7 simultaneously. Over the next 3 months, we were not able to cool the house. The thermostat was set at 70 but due to the heating element running, the actual temperature in the house was 75-78. Not great for my health! Electrical costs went through the roof! We really had to haggle them to come back to fix it. They kept telling us that nothing was wrong, that in time it will adjust. Finally at the end of July an electrician was sent who found the installation error in about 3 minutes. As a result of AQM’s total inefficiency in this faulty installation, our excess electricity expenses were a whopping $996.00! PECO bills were given to the owner showing these excess costs directly resultant to their faulty installation. Two separate letters were sent. No response!! After calling him a few times, he finally did talk to us and took ownership of the mistake. He admitted AQM was wrong……BUT …….sorry ….No reimbursement…..you’re stuck with the extra $996.00!!!! Don’t expect this company to do the right thing. No business ethic, no dignity, no conscience!
