On August 1 2019 Aire Serv of the Shenandoah Valley made a service call to look at my central air unit. Upon testing the compressor and pressure and flow line theycould not determine the cause for the high pressure switch shutting it down. The technician suspected the compressor was going bad. I suggested to him that it could be a failing compressor fan motor. He put the amp tester on it and said it is pulling 8 amps and its rated at 8 amps. He proceeded to try and sell me a new unit. I agreed to a meeting with a sales person that I soon canceled. After he left I looked at the rating tag on the motor in question. The rating was .75 amp. Not 8 amp. I contacted another company and their technician diagnosed the problem within minutes without any special tools. It was a bad compressor fan motor. the company I got to fix it was Small Solutions. I have receipts from both companies stating what was repaired. Aire Serv of the Shenandoah Valley charged me $125 just to try and sell me a new central air conditioning
We are very sorry for the misdiagnosis and have refunded the customer the $125 diagnostic fee as requested. I have attached a copy of the invoice showing the refund.
