Excessive cost for labor and parts for microwave repair
We have a Viking drawer microwave. About two weeks ago it stopped working. It wouldn't heat food and made an unusual noise. I contacted Viking customer service to get the contact information for authorized repair for my area. I contacted Airflo. I was told that the charge for diagnosing the problem would be $175 but if repair was needed the $175 would go towards the repair charge. The serviceman said I needed one or more parts and that they would be expensive because he has to buy them directly from Viking and doesn't receive a discount. About 10 days later he completed the repair and said that the charge was $822.80 and that he would email me the receipt. I thought the price was excessive but he (***) had told me that Viking marks up their parts a lot. *** emailed me the bill. First, he charged me $350 for labor - He did not apply the $175 to the repair as I was originally told. Secondly, he charged $190.80 for one part and $240.98 for the second one. The part numbers were on the bill so I looked up the prices directly from Viking. Airflo marked up the Viking prices 300-400%. The actual Viking prices were very reasonable unlike what I was told.
I think it would be more than fair to charge me double for the parts and to credit the second labor charge of $175. A credit of $325 would be fair.

Mr. is absolutely wright. My tech did not check price with Viking relying on old price list in our system. We will work with customer to refund extra charges.
