Airmaxx respectfully disagrees
with the owner’s complaint
"> Airmaxx
attempted to resolve this matter with the owner on several occasions but she was
unreasonable and from Airmaxx’ perspective was looking for free work. When Airmaxx’ owner contacted the owner to
resolve this matter he was told “Do you know who I am” implying that because she
is wealthy and influential she should be given special treatment. Airmaxx’ owner explained that she was one of Airmaxx’
customers and all customers are provided the same high level of customer
service
Airmaxx understands that
the owner is entirely rebuilding her large house without the assistance of
either a licensed general contractor or an architect and Airmaxx believes this caused
the problems experienced on the project
On October 10,
Airmaxx and the owner entered into a contract which set forth the scope of work
that Airmaxx would be required to perform and the amount of money the owner
would pay Airmaxx for the work. From the
onset of this project, the owner refused to follow the Contract and instead
believed that she could direct Airmaxx to perform work outside the scope of the
Contract. Further, the owner entirely
changed the Contract work many times resulting in change orders to the Contract
and causing many problems on site
Once the initial A/C install
was complete the owner insisted that Airmaxx change the location of the A/C
units. Airmaxx, for customer service
reasons, complied with this request and made changes without charging the owner. After this, the owner demanded that Airmaxx
change the entire configuration of the system.
Airmaxx, for customer service reasons, complied with this request and
made changes without charging the owner.
After the above changes
were made the owner continued to request changes to her A/C system outside the
scope of the Contract. Airmaxx informed
the owner that Airmaxx would perform additional work but is now going to expect
payment for work performed outside the scope of the Contract. This upset the owner because she wanted to
continue to direct Airmaxx to perform additional work without having to pay for
the additional work
The owner caused delays on
the project by improperly coordinating Airmaxx’ work with other trades. The owner failed to properly sequence the
construction work which caused A/C units to be installed prior to construction
work being entirely complete. The owner
wanted to install temporary thermostats to run the A/C units during
construction. Airmaxx advised against
the installation of temporary thermostats because it can cause damage to the
system and to propertyDespite Airmaxx’ advice the owner had temporary
thermostats installed and ran the system prior to construction being completed
Airmaxx has reviewed the
damages allegedly caused by its work and disagrees with each assertion. The alleged workmanship complaints were put
together by a longtime competitor of Airmaxx in a very competitive San Diego
HVAC market. Airmaxx carefully reviewed the
alleged workmanship issues because if Airmaxx believed it performed any work
below industry standard or caused any damages Airmaxx would promptly without
question compensate the owner. All work
Airmaxx performed on the project was to industry standard and passed all
required inspections. Airmaxx was not
paid in full for the work it performed on the project

Everyone was extremely professional from start to finish. The receptionist who took my request was courteous and friendly. The technician who came to the house, Yuri, was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. He reviewed with me any changes to the system and costs involved.
Thank you Airmaxx! I will definitely use you again.

Customer called for a problem with low voltage wires of they air conditioning . They were chewed up by rats. Our tech was able to find a great solution to fix it and saved to the customer hundreds of dollars. Second visit was related to a totally different issue on a second system in a house (...

customer had two independent HVAC systems) . The same tech, [redacted], was there. He explained customer what needed to be done and gave him the quote upfront. More than that , he even offered the customer a help should the customer wanted to fix the problem himself ( clogged primary condensation line). Customer has declined the offer and authorized him to proceed with repair.

Customer is being very inpatient. I wish there is a better customer bureau so I can describe my experience with Mr. [redacted] to warn other contractors. On the other hand the project is for a business so we may consider some steps in the future after we settle this matter. I wish Mr. [redacted] would see how difficult and inpatient he is. After we had finished the job to his satisfaction, Mr [redacted] had decided that we did less than contract stated and that he is not going to pay for extra work, so he calculated how much less he owes us. I did not see a point to argue because I am in the air conditioning business and not in the litigation business. I do not have time or desire to argue about it, so I agreed on the amount that he thinks he should pay all though it was substantially less than contract amount and I did not agree on it in my mind. Horrible customer service, June 7th, the Technician, Yuri, came and presented an estimate, we said we wanted the repair. The tech said he would contact us with repair date. A week went by, we called the office and the order was never placed so they scheduled for 6/20 to repair. Same tech came and wanted over double the quoted amount...After multiple excuses, finally agreed to fix,for their quoted price but did not repair and rescheduled to 6/25. After waiting all day and no contact except when we called the office and told another tech would come, 7 hours later-no tech. Yuri then called and said he will come on 6/27. At this point we have wasted 3 days, we had a family bday scheduled for our son tomorrow that will now have to be rescheduled. Worst business practice I have ever encountered, missed work hours, more hours will be missed Monday, didn't call when late, didnt keep appointments, my suggestion, avoid this company! Extremely dis-satisfied and almost a month without our A/C and still counting...

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Much of the statements made by AirMaxx are fabricated and not true to my knowledge.
The facts are the following:
1. AirMaxx's proposed us to use 11 a/c units (small and big with multiple combination of a/c units) . It was not acceptable from aesthetic point of view and also their idea was to sell more units than needed so that they can collect more           money. That proposal was never accepted.
2. AirMaxx continued to demand larger and larger attic space for their multiple units . Again we felt their proposed deign is not acceptable from the aesthetic point of view.
3. They finally sold the idea of zoning system and that was the proposal finally accepted by the owner not knowing that AirMaxx is either very inexperienced with zoning technology or, just simply ignorant.
4. AirMaxx collected money upfront instantly on the same day as they brought their product or, rendering their services keeping owner totally blindfolded as owner never got a chance to verify or, test to check what have been delivered or,     how they work.
5. Each time owner called AirMaxx rep to come out and show the owner how their system works, AirMaxx rep refused to come out to  give an orientation of their system.
At one point when owner insisted that  their system does not work and he has to come out physically and show the owner how the system works . Not only he refused to come out , he started yelling over phone using "*" words. Owner     said that he needs to know who he is talking to and advised him to be mutually respectful when we are talking business only. Owner suggested him to find an attorney to contact the owner for any future communication as the owner       refused to be harrassed and foul-mouthed repeatedly  by AirMaxx rep.
6. Our house is designed  and supervised by a prominent local architect  and a very well known structural engineer of San Diego. The construction was under the supervision of a State of California licensed general contractor ( names can       be verified from the City of San Diego permit department ). AirMaxx's statement in paragraph two only exposes the height of ignorance of AirMaxx and its staff. Such statement makes us convinced that   AirMaxx felt all along that they         could get by with a very poor workmanship and extremely poor knowledge of A/C zoning technology as they felt that the house is being built without a registered architect/engineer and licensed general contractor and their work will       never be properly checked out.
7.  AirMaxx's proposal and its price included the installation of thermostats to complete their service independent of owner's decision of implementing Home Automation at a later stage of the construction . They refused to provide those        thermostats even they collected the money for those thermostats upfront.
8.  Our construction work sequence was managed and dictated  by a highly reputable Architectural design firm of San Diego and its construction manager. AirMaxx's statement in paragraph 7 has no merit . The statement only reflects the        mere ignorance of AirMaxx and its staff  about a $10MM construction project in City of SanDiego.
9.  It is only after recruiting a third -party HVAC contractor , highly recommended by our engineer  we came to know the we are not the only victim of AirMaxx's poor workmanship and very unprofessional services. Apparently , AirMaxx had      been sued by other residents of southern California in the past for the same very reason. Our site manager made a poor judgement by recommending them to the owner without thorougly checking AirMaxx's work history , background      and  details of  other lawsuits .
10. Once owner came to know that AirMaxx 's job performance was not satisfactory , zoning system of the A/C units  engineered by AirMaxx is a total failure -owner decided to hold back $1939.00 which is nothing compared to the large           sum of money already collected by AirMaxx upfront . Their faulty engineering skill caused us a huge financial damage for a very expensive house in this area. There was a massive water damage upstairs and down stairs of the house,             termite invasion locally in those water soaked area. AirMaxx had been requested number of times by various people who are involved in our construction project and each time AirMaxx declined to come out. Each of these people can           give their testimonial individually, if requested.
Owner had no other option but hiring immediately a third party reputable HVAC contractor to prevent any long term damage to a very expensive house, to find out the root causes of A/C malfunctioning, all damaged area including             wet sheetrock, insulation had to be removed immediately to prevent any extended damage, dried  wetted areas for over  two weeks, termite treatment completed followed by all repair work by the newly hired HVAC contractor.  We               have documented , photographed each and every steps of these damage recovery as a proof of evidence of a very poor workmanship of AirMaxx.  Construction completion date was delayed more than two months and so was delayed         the move-in time of the owner for more than two months and thus incurring monetary loss due to AirMaxx's lack of  work experience , knowledge and workmanship.
11. We would sincerely request Revdex.com to check out the work experience and knowledge of these type of contractors more closely to protect  many other residents of southern California like this owner from being victim of  a HVAC contractor        like  AirMaxx. Owner has sought legal help to show how much damage it caused  to a very expensive house due to AirMaxx's lack of experience , knowledge in the subject and very poor workmanship.
