AirNow was hired by my warranty company to replace my HVAC condenser and said there would be an additional charge of $disposal fee AirNow would not perform the work to replace my HVAC condenser on the second visit unless they received a $disposal fee The fee was not discussed on the first visit or by my warranty company They said their insurance company required them to do dispose of the equipment and refrigerant I have contacted another HVAC company and there is no such requirementThey charge the disposal fee to increase their charges because the warranty company limits the amount they pay for the repair My new HVAC company could not confirm that the condenser was bad because AirNow had cut the wires making the unit unuseable I have had to replace the entire HVAC unit due to their negligence

This company has left me without heat for a month nowstarted with this is not working, then they replaced that part then it was another partI took off work for them to come to my house and they didn't show upI called them times they never returned my callsthe last tech that came out stated the first guy had all the parts on his truck and should have fixed the problem, now he stated he has to go and get a motor puller before he can do anything,,,, that was on a SaturdayI called on Tues of the next week to find out where he was and they said he was not going to come back out to my house because there was no room to workcome to find out he was afraid of the dogs that are in the back yard that are in kennels, and behind fences...so when I told the office this he changed his mind and stated he will not come back because of the smell so this has been going on since November 5th I do believethere is a lot more to this storydifferent tech came out and the first said nothing about the dogs because they loved themthe last one JOHNATHON was just scared of them

The Gist: While the people that came out and that I've spoke to were nice, there seems to be a lack of knowledge on the technicians' parts--whether due to training or hiring, I couldn't sayBut regardless, I wouldn't recommend using them if you want your issue actually solved
The Full Story: We used Air Now of Nashville through our home warranty (which we'll also be getting rid of) they have come out times and the problem still persists--the first time the guy says that the issue is due to a lack of freon, charges us for more freon and the unit is leaking into the drop pan again within a daySame technician comes out again a week later and changes his mind "It's definitely a blockage, I've poured some bleach down, you should do that every now and then, but not too often" The leaking starts again the next dayThird time, they send another technician out, he looks at it for a couple minutes and says the issue is the unit is leaning back and not draining properly, hence the full drip pan--great, a solution that makes sense, YAY! He tells me they have a guy that fixes this, says he is great and can get it all sorted out, their guy will call me in the next day or soIt's a Thursday, so I wait until Tuesday to call Air Now after not hearing from them to scheduleThe women I talk to, once again she is nice I don't want to say they're bad people by any means, says "Oh, no, we don't do that you'll have to hire a contractor yourself to come out and fix that and then we can come look at it after he does."
My complaint isn't what the issue ended up being, that is not their fault, my complaint is that they seemed to be guessing at issues and when they finally said, no THIS is the problem and we can fix--it was either a straight out lie or a total misunderstanding--either way, Air Now's technicians probably need to learn more about air conditioners and until then probably shouldn't claiming they are of any help
