Review: I had Airtec Sports (motorsports dealer) service my 2002 Arctic Cat Pantera snowmobile with a flush of the antifreeze. I was quoted $50.00 for this service by an employee at the parts counter. When the service was complete I was told it would be $90.00. I was able to have them compromise at $70.00.When I arrived to pick it up the service technician located it in the outdoor storage area and attempted to start it. The battery would not turn the engine over, so he used the pull start and brought it out to the parking lot. The temperature was below zero for several days before I was able to pick the snowmobile up, so I found that the battery was frozen as a result of being left outside with less than a full charge. I had the battery charged overnight and load tested at Advanced Auto Parts in Menomonie, and the readout told me it needed replaced. This battery is less than 2 years old.The parts and service people at Airtec Sports denied any damage could have been done by their people, and said they could not give me a replacement.I expect when I bring a vehicle in for service that I get it back in the same condition I left it.I also found out they had broken my taillight while moving the snowmobile around with a forklift. They did replace the taillight without charge. I would really like them to replace my battery.Desired Settlement: Replace my Arctic Cat power sport battery.

I understand your complaint as we run into this issue from time to time. What happens with batteries is that although it may have had enough power to start your machine in a heated garage, or on a warmer day, the cold weather will finish the life of this battery off. At the time of this happening your battery is already no good, basically this battery would have left you stranded on the trail somewhere at some point this season if it wasn't replaced. Are work area here is very good sized however we do not have room to keep everything indoors with heat on it at all times. (Any service shop that is busy means they do good quality work, and probably does not have room for all the units being serviced.) Because the battery quit working while the machine was here you feel that we should replace it, however the battery was obviously to the point of no return when it was brought in, thus we are not responsible to replace the battery. I hope you understand that we can not be responsible for things like this because if that be the case everyone would drop there machines off for oil changes when the battery is going out and try to have us pay for there batter. I am more then willing to help people out as they deserve it and I do feel bad when things like this happen, however they do happen and it is a fact of life. If you are still in need of a bttery or need one down the road feel free to come in with a copy of this email and I would be more then willing to sell you one at cost. Thank You for understanding.
