Complaint572 foot asphalt paved driveway has water standing for days- in 9 areas This will be dangerous in the winter when water freezes.AJ's Paving promised to ensure any problems would be fixed and work guaranteed for one year. A.J. came back to view problems, admitted to low spots and agreed to fix in a timely manner. Work was completed in April, 2015. Problems discovered three (3) days afterwards when it rained. No repairs have been made to this date and he will not answer phone calls.Water standing under cars is deep and wide. It requires stepping in it to get in and out of two cars. This is unsatisfactory, and it will be dangerous in the winter when the water freezes.Desired SettlementStanding water that gradually seeps into the asphalt will cause pot holes. Standing water in the winter will freeze and be a hazard to drivers. I would like the driveway and parking area to be fixed so water will not stand, freeze or seep into the asphalt. I would like AJ's Paving to honor the guarantee as stated and written in contract. I have no problem patching the low areas . I explained to [redacted] that I am out of state most of the summer. I will be back instate in October to do repair work that needs to be done. After the negative review made against my company by [redacted] that included false information after the work is repaired My Company will no longer do business with [redacted]. It would be a safety hazard to walk to the mailbox as well. There is a handicapped individual that lives here as well as two people in their late 70's. Having to drive or walk through water that will freeze up in the winter is a safety hazard for everyone. A slip would be detrimental. Properly repairing the driveway in October will be appreciated. Since filing the report with Revdex.com, he offered to repair in October. I have not heard from him since. This has become a pattern now. There are nine (9) low spots in the 572 foot driveway that holds water for days. Final Business Response /[redacted]/I am currently still in and out of state. this company has failed to fulfil the terms of a contract. They were to come finish my driveway many months ago. numerous phone calls have not helped.on Febuary 5, 2015 I contracted A.J. and sons asphalt specialist to grade, pave, and seal my driveway. They started working on it that same day. They worked one and a half days at which point I was advised to drive on the driveway and pack it down. I was assured that as soon as it was packed sufficiently they would return to seal the drive way with two coats of sealant to avoid erosion of the driveway. I called several times and spoke to the owner inquiring when they would be here to complete the job. He put me off several times and kept promising to come finish. Its is now the later part of November and they have yet to complete the job. I have checked into this company recently and discovered there are several judgements against them. I have called and called to no avail. I feel as if I have been taken advantage of. I paid the full amount of $8,250.00 on the same day we signed this contract. I do not feel like I have gotten what I paid for. Mr. [redacted] who is the owner, and his wife are aware that my contract has not been fulfilled and repeatedly promised to complete the job. They stated that they needed it to be 70 degrees outside to complete the task. Well those days of 70 degree weather are gone. Winter is here and the asphalt which is still unsealed and has already deteriorated due to weather and rain will continue to erode and could crumble in the event of a hard freeze. I hads no choice but to hire a different contractor to evaluate and finish a job that Ive already paid for. At this point I will be filing civil and/or criminal charges in this matter within days.Desired SettlementId like the money to repair and replace the driveway. I've had to pay for the same service twice because this company failed to complete the agreed upon contract. I paid them to seal coat my driveway when they put down my paved my driveway back in March. Suppose to wait after 90 days and then were coming back to seal coat my driveway. I have called them over 10 times with out hearing anything back from them. They did call call and said that there equipment was broken and a replace part would be here in two weeks. That was two months ago. I would not recommend them for any service at all to anyone.

I had an overall good experience with AJ's. They answered my questions promptly and did a good job on my driveway. They still have a few places to come touch up but they were very reasonable and easily approachable. Definitely get a quote from these guys before you decide on an asphalt project.

did not show up for repairs on driveway and did not show up when he said he would. AJ was to come and repair my driveway due to the erosion problem in December. I was off the entire month and he was a no show. at no time was I told this material was seasonal or that it could not be applied during cold weather. AJ himself said my problem to him sounded like the material was not mixed right. parts of my driveway is like powder and the material is unsatisfactory. He told me it needs to be packed by me driving on it I drive a 9000lb truck and its not packed yet. I have called and left messages and he has said he will fix the problem but he has not as of yet 2/15/2015 I have gave him ample time to resolve this matter without going to this extreme but he has gave me no choice. Just fix the driveway is all I ask. I am tired of dealing with someone that lacks the interest to resolve problems with the customers that pay in full when the job is complete. it look good to start with till the rain came . He said the driveway would be hard but its not. yes it is recycle material but I am going by what I was told after all I am not an asphalt man he is.Desired SettlementAJ said sounds like to him that the material was not mixed right. well if so bring the right stuff down here and fix it. Pack it down so the rain don't wash it away. if this driveway is going to get hard as a rock show me and back your words up cause it hasn't yet. solve the problem. That's all I ask without me calling you again. If you can't fix it get someone that can at your expense not mine. Business Response /[redacted]/I spoke with Mr. [redacted] right before the Holidays and explained to him that I have absolutely NO problem with fixing the place that has washed out. I told him I would take care of it when I was in his area. I also explained to him that this is not hot mix asphalt and it serves as a packing material. We offer no warranty on this type of material only if there is a low spot in the work area. However I did agree to fix the washed out area for him but I have not been in his area since then . Holidays and weather have held up most work and repairs for clients but I still stand by what I told him in our phone conversation. I have not heard back from Mr. [redacted] sine that phone conversation. Weather permitting I will get to his repair as soon as possible. No later than the middle of March. Thank you, [redacted]Consumer Response /[redacted]/Let me start by saying AJs paving are nice people to deal with, Around the 5th or 6th of December I called AJ and spoke to him about some problems in the driveway, He returned my call and set up a day to come that was Monday the 8th and was a no show because he had to go to DR. because of a migraine headache, and I said I understood he also said he would call latter that afternoon and set a time for Friday the 12th to fix driveway. He never called and he never showed . Like I said I was off the entire month of December. I WAS TOLD BY [redacted] THAT THIS MATERIAL WOULD GET AS HARD AS THE ASPHALT ON THE ROAD. I HAVE SPOTS IN MY DRIVEWAY THAT IS LIKE POWDER.AJ himself told me it sounded like to him that the material was not mixed right and I quote. Now the reason I have not called anymore is because there is no point in wasting my time or AJs when he is not going to show. Excuses come a dime a dozen and I can make them up all day long. I got a piece of paper that says I got a one year warranty on work. Final Business Response /[redacted]/we have no promblem in taking care of any promblems with the driveway I am sorry I did not have the exact date when we spoke and I thought that I had explained in our phone conversation that when we were back in the area I would take alook at the driveway and schedule it to be repaired I will have to look at the contract to see how long the warranty is foe because normaly we only offer a 90 day warranty max due to the recycled metarial only being packing metarial there is nothing we can warranty other than workmanship or a low spot or washing but we have no promblem in fixing the work. thank you

Asphalt Driveway was installed on 6/3/16 and on 6/18/16 I noticed two protrusions in the driveway after only two weeks. I notified [redacted] on Sunday 6/18/16 of the two growing protrusions in the driveway which is only two weeks after installation. I paid by check which has been processed. We continually go back and forth on the phone but no action.Desired SettlementI want my driveway to be repaired immediately before we start are trips.Business Response We spoke to Mr [redacted] on the week of June 21 and told him we would be on vacation until 2 weeks after the 4th of July I told him if anyone from the company could get by there that week we would and tried calling him to let him know we would not be able to I'm confused as to why he has made this complaint when we have told him of the situation with us being off for the 4th of July vacation also he has explained to us that he has know areas cracking or breaking it is a heaved area or mark on the asphalt and after making the complaint he has tried calling us. I really don't understand why if you have been in contact with the company and they give you a date to look at the driveway and then you make a complaint with the Revdex.com why you would contact the company again until the proper steps are taking with the complaint process I really feel Mr [redacted] is just trying to damage our rating with Revdex.com. The time still has not changed as to when we could look at the driveway same thing we told him to start with .thank [redacted] Consumer Response No one has contacted me nor did anyone mention a vacation ? I was told some one would come and take a look at the driveway as soon as possible and do whatever was necessary to repair driveway.The complaint was filed because so far its been all talk and no action and still is.Even if a call is made to be with no message my equipment will tell me when and who has called.They have not called me nor do I know when or if they are coming ?Final Business Response I have no idea why Mr [redacted] is chosen to be untrue about the conversation both myself and our lead estimater have had with him explaining that we could not look at the driveway until we got back from vacation as he wanted us to look at it the last week of June. As far as not being in touch with him after the complaint is concerned I think anyone can see we need everything in writing so there is no more he said without proof. We have no problem looking at the driveway and fixing it if there is a problem but we have a schedule also that we have to go buy .we will be back toward the end of the month take a look and fix the problem if one in a timely manner. More Info Received From The Consumer(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)How can I possibly accept its based on more talk no action.Everything they have stated is baloney,they gave the impression this would be resolved by the end of June not July ? As far as documentation is concerned it is all documented with Revdex.com,except for the contract you gave me clearly stating the work is guaranteed. I just want the job completed correctly and to be clear no ONE mentioned vacation,that's just absurd.
