electric snow blower for a prepaid estimate We have been a authorized Toro dealer for over years The motor spun free and was not locked up We looked up the model and serial number off the unit to look up the wiring diagram and how the parts are broke down for this specific unit In doing so we found that Toro does NOT supply the switch , motor or wiring for the unitIt's a complete replacement only! We do not do back yard repairs trying to makeshift non authorized Toro parts to get something to work when someone could get hurt or worse With a electric unit being used in a wet environment not a safe option in our or Toro's eyes If the customer had registered the unit with Toro and was within the warranty period, TORO replace's the unit with a brand new one She never produced a purchase date so we couldn't move forward with a warranty for her As far as the two weeks,,, we tell everyone when they drop a unit off out of season that we repair them when the in season units are completed She dropped the unit off September 1st, not quite the snow season yetExample, if someone drops off a lawn mower in February we finish the snow blowers first. The fuel was left in the machine over the winter and went bad, ruining the carbWe called and gave the estprior to the repair and they told us to complete
the jobWe always STRONGLY suggest to get NEW FUEL less than days old We always completely flush out the fuel system after rebuilding or replacing a carb( Just like it says in the owners manual)
The customer called back stating the machine won't start and was leaking fuel after they cut the lawn twiceThey brought us the mower mower back in with bad fuel again that smelt like paint thinner!! (we saved the fuel ) It ruined the new carbWe or ANY manufacturer can not warranty fuel that we don not sellShe told us she works at a gas station and her car runs fine with itCars and small engines are completely differentWe don't need to get into thatAlso the cars are getting fresh fuel right out of the pump every fill upNot out of a fuel can sitting in the garage for who knows how long,,,,,
Anyone can google search (bad fuel -lawn mowers) and read about it for weeks
We called the customer back and told them they needed a new carb and would install it for a discounted rate because it was just inNOt charging the labor charge that it takes to re flush the fuel system and install the new carbThe customer got very upset and threatened usShe wanted it for free or nothing
I feel bad that they are having fuel problems again , but can not warranty fuel that we do not sellShe even told us that it started acting up right after her son put (fuel) in itWas it the same fuel that caused the problem in the first place???

As I had mention previously after I pick up the lawn mower when the business presumed repair the unit, I didn't not put any more fuel on the unit I started the lawn mower with the same fuel the shop returnedAlso it's a lie that the fuel damaged the unitI am a general manager of a gas station and of customers come to my station every day to fuel up not only for personal vehicle's but as well lawn mower units, including big landscape business, if fuel gas the case I would have tons of complaints every day about the demage fuel would causeThe owner of this business never offered any type of free labor as he mentionedAgain I had an expert worked on my lawn mower he told me the reason why the lawn mower wouldn't start for me it was for the extra inner motor part founded in the lawn mower installed by AJ'sWhat this business is doing is maligning fuel companies like my company that does not have to do anything with is incompeteceIf he is not able to be fair and treat customers right he should think to close his business
