Ajaco Towing Inc. Reviews (3)

They have predatory practices that go against the NJ Consumer Affairs laws of towing. They refuse credit cards and checks, claiming that their machine is broken. They had illegal spotters at a parking lot where a festival was held and claimed there was signs when there was one. One of their employees mocked me for my speech. They purposely blocked car with another car too. Claimed that they weren’t supposed to be open on the weekends and yet had 5 people on site on a Sunday during a festival. Predators all around, judging by their reviews here and online.

Worst experience I ever had with a towing company. The 2 employees at the Harrison office were yelling to me, offending because I was not a native English speaker and because I overlooked a sign that they have. The didn't wanted to give me 3 dollars change with the allegation that they had no 1 dollar bills. Are you serious? You only take cash and you don't have 3 dollars? Plus at the end of the conversation, a white skinny guy said "Lets meet outside". WTH? is that even allowed? I wish this company the worst since they don't know how to treat a client.

Review: Ajaco has been illegally towing cars all over the state of New Jersey by not complying to The Predatory Towing Prevention Act. In my particular case the signs around the towing area were not the minimum 36 by 36 inches, also AJACO advertises business hours that are below the minimum required by the same act mentioned above, my law the minimum is 8AM-6PM they work 9AM-5PM as advertised in their sign. They refuse to accept debit and credit cards and are a "cash only" business as stated in their sign which is also a violation of the PTPA. On top of that their policy does not allow for customers to have access to their vehicle for personal items during business hours unless the car is released which is a bullying method to get their payment sooner. They are buddies with a detective or two band tried to intimidate me by using the police officer to call me but obviously the officer has no jurisdiction in this as he knows. There's more violations AJACO has carried with my specific case such as refusing to release my car because they were "sick of me" and forcing me to pay for extra days of storage fees but it will be resolved in court at due time.Desired Settlement: To drop everything I want my car released free of charge as it was towed illegally. If not possible I will sue for reimbursement of loss wages, taxi rides, data added to an additional device needed for lack of current cellphone, time loss, fees paid, and stealing my property.

Response:

As per our conversation reference [redacted]

The customer was towed, requested by the Police, they were illegally parked and on private property. There were signs posted and clearly stated they would be towed.

The customer came to our facility and did not have the Cash to pay so they came back and apologized the second visit. Thank you for the opportunity to address this situation, and clear our name. Also I must ad that the owner of the car did not show up , and the car could not be released to the son, it was the mothers car, and that was a problem with the police.
