Review: They did my taxes and I have been audited twice, no one will return my calls or emails. They take no responsibility for their actions.

They did my taxes and I have been audited twice, no one will return my calls or emails. They take no responsibility for their actions. Once they get paid, you get put to the side. I have called over and over with no response. This is not a reliable company. My tax year was 2011 and I was audited in 2012, when I called [redacted], she said she was unaware that policies had changed with that tax year. Now in 2013, I've been audited again and they are not returning my calls. I've even called [redacted] on her cell phone.Desired Settlement: I would like for them to go over my tax papers to see what mistakes they did and fix them. The IRS is charging me almost $3000 which is a large amount. This company should take responsibility, this is why we go to a tax preparer cause we do not know how to do the taxes ourselves.

My name is [redacted] Farley, CEO/President of AJV Bookkeeping,Inc. and in response to the complaint filed against my company, my response is as follows:

First off,let me start by saying that this client was not and has never been audited. What they receved was a CP2000 which is for underreporting of taxes. I did speak with the taxpayer about one letter that she forwarded to me and explained to her that this letter was sent to them because there were income items reported to the IRS which had not been reported on their return. I explained to her that if the paperwork is not given to me when I prepare the return, I have no way of knowing what income and/or any other forms they receive. I can only prepare their return according to the information given to me by the clients themselves and their tax return is prepared by me using the information, forms and documents provided to me by the taxpayer.

This specific CP2000 was due to income received by the taxpayer and not reported on their return. I spoke with the taxpayer and reviewed the items with her and I then asked her about a 401K withdrawal that was taken during that tax year and had not been reported on the return. I explained to the tapayer that many times people receive unemployment income, 401K withdrawals, and even additional W-2 forms that many times, they forget they took out money or received the income and because they did not receive a forn in the mail, they do not give the forms to us when we prepare the return. For this reason they had to pay the taxes on whatever additional income they received and did not include on their return. When they received this letter, I noticed that an education credit that had been claimed on their return was also being questioned. I explained to her that all they had to do was provide copies of receipts for tuition, books, computer, supplies, etc. to clear up and prove that these expenses were eligible for them to claim. I also explained and told her what to do which was, fax said receipts as proof for this education expense and that as soon as these documents were processed, that this part of the debt would be resolved and they would not have to pay back the credit from the balance being charged to them but that they would have to pay the taxes on the additional income that had not been reported only.

As for another letter, I never received any copies of other letters but, it would have to be another CP2000 as well due to the fact that there are no expenses claimed on said return that would merit an audit.

We are in the process of contacting this taxpayer to verify if in fact there had been another letter sent to them for a different year so that they can fax it to my office and I will gladly read it and immediately let them what has to be done to remedy the situation.

My offices are open year round on a part time basis just to be able to be there for all clients who may need us for whatever reason and most tax offices do not offer these services. Most tax offices shut down immediately after tax season and do not re-open again until the following year. In fact, my personal cell phone number is on my business card so that clients can reach me at any time. There is no way that I would not answer a message to one of my clients. I am more than willing to help any client that needs my services and I have always gone above and beyond to help my clients. If for any reason they need me, I'm there. My reputation is impecable and my clients know that I am always there for them. I never received any other messages from this taxpayer regarding any other letter that they might have received for any other tax year. If a message would have been left on my cell, I would have called them back and helped them in any way that I could. But, I never had any other messages from them, ever.

Furthermore, this complaint letter was handed over to one of my assistants today from another suite down the hall. Apparently, the postman delivered this letter in error to another suite in our building and they did not give us this letter until today.

My assistant proceeded to contact me immediately and inform me of the situation, and I am responding. I apologize for any response delays that may have occured. I have personally tried to contact the client to assist her in any way that I can. If in fact there is another letter, for any other tax year, I will gladly assist them by interpreting the letter and letting them know what it is about and what has to be done in order to resolve the situation.

Sincerely,

Business

[redacted] is not very honest in what she has stated above. First of I did not even send her any letters in regards to the letter I received recently. I contacted her last year because she filed my taxes wrong. She stated that I could make a claim from buying a new car and that program was not available. She asked me to send her my information and I did, she then turned around and said that she didn't realize that the new car program was over and I never heard from her again, This was her mistake and I paid over $500 back because of her mistake. Then this year I get another letter stating I owe money because of education, which I made several calls to her and her office with no response at all. I even called her personal cell phone. She finally called the other day (I think because she received this complaint) and told me she was out of the country. So for her to say she always is available for her clients this is not true. It is very hard to get a hold of her or the office, even during the tax season. I decided to have someone else look over my tax papers because she did not call me back in time and I needed to get this taken care of. Her office may be opened during the off season but that does not mean anything since no one ever answers there calls. I have no clue what [redacted] says I have sent her, I haven't even gotten a hold of anyone in her office to even send her anything. She called me once a couple of days ago and was telling me how she was out of the country and barely got my message. But then no one else was able to even call me for the past few months to even tell me that she was gone or able to help me. Pretty much everything she has stated here is not true. She just doesn't help like she says she does.
