A&K Exquisite Home Improvement was contacted to do repairs on my home damaged by hurricane Sandy.I am still no The repairs will include work on the first floor 4ft from the floor board. An initial contract was drafted by the above contracting business.I did not sign the initial contract because I thought that was way over for the scope of work that had to be done, ever since they have been redrafting the contract several times until I finally settled for a contract in a lesser amount. I paid [redacted] $20, 000.00 for the coverage of material needed for the job. I noticed months passed and the only materials bought was 1/2" Sheetrock,a violation, insulation and stuff for taping Sheetrock. I kept asking [redacted] where are the materials to do the work, he kept telling me that is not how he works and he will buy them when needed.When it was time to do the kitchen and bathroom he kept asking for more money. I told him I have seen you buy anything with the $20,000. He kept saying if you want your work done I have to pay him some money, and that continued until now.I have already paid [redacted] $30, 000 of the $36, 000 that he charge for materials and labor. Out of that $6,000 balance I have to purchase my kitchen appliances, plus few items that he asked me to buy for him with my own money. To this day the bathroom is not complete, the kitchen is not complete, the electrical work is not complete, and the installation of my mirrors on the walls are not done. The amount of work that is left to be done will cost more to complete than what I have balance for [redacted].Two days ago [redacted] called me and said he cannot complete the work until I paid him the balance of the $9,000. Also [redacted] begged me to pay him cash so he would not have to pay tax. I paid him in cash and received voucher proof of payment. [redacted] kept my property very filthy, inside and out littered with debris despite asking him to clean up after each day, workers used my bathroom walked on the bare newly done floor.
