Worst customer service ever experienced and would NEVER recommend if you want a stress-free vacation!! My husband and I booked with Akamai Mothers in December for our 2-week trip to Maui in Feb We rented a full-size crib, car seat and highchair for our almost 2-year-old through David Lemieux (the owner of Akamai Mothers)Upon arrival at the airport, we were delivered a car seat to the by Amy (David's wife)The car seat was handed over and Amy left before we even had a chance to inspect the seatThe car seat did not appear to have been cleaned, the straps stuck and did not tighten properly although David had reassured me on the quality of the seatsThe crib was adequate, although only provided with one crib sheet (when the site stated one sheet per week of stay)The high chair material was disintegrating on the back and could not be locked in a fully upright position (unsafe for toddler eating)We dealt with all of these discrepancies throughout our trip and were prepared to just walk away and not use the company again However, five days prior to our departure from Maui I emailed David to ensure he was aware of the date we were leaving and to ensure that someone would be there to pick up the seat (lord knows travelling with a toddler is stressful enough and I wanted to make sure at least this part would be stress-free)It seemed odd to me that the customer should be the one to confirm these arrangements, but I tried to let that go as wellDavid emailed back, acknowledging our arrangements for time and date of pick up for the car seatAt the airport on the day of our departure, I called the phone numbers for Akamai Mothers as they did not arrive to pick up our car seatAfter or calls I was able to reach David who rudely told me that he had our departure scheduled for the next day, that I should have "reached out" sooner to tell him the proper date (which I had, and had the email chain to prove it)I calmly tried to explain to him that I had emailed him multiple times with the correct date, but he cut me off, blaming me for the errorHe agreed to send his wife (Amy) to pick up the seat and stated she would be at the airport in approximately minutesWhen I asked him if there was somewhere at a customer service desk I could leave the seat so we wouldn't be late for our flight, David stated "absolutely not" and hung upUpon arrival, Amy apologized for her husband's behaviour and said she had to "deal with him" every day, leading me to believe that his deplorable behaviour towards customers and others was common practiceI have never taken the time to write a negative review for a company before but I was appalled beyond belief after dealing with the David and his unprofessionalism and rudeness and would never want others to deal with this unnecessary stress while on vacation with their little ones In addition, the condition of the items rented was not acceptable for products that are meant to keep your children safe
