Keep in mind that this is 8 months after first we asked, 6 months after the State of Wisconsin Office Of Lawyer Regulation asked, and 20 months that Schmidt and Grace held on to our money and doing absolutely nothing in return.If denying us the use of our funds was not enough, the relationship between a mother and son has become irreparable because too much time had passed for any action to be effective. I was surprised to see that the previous reviewer had a bad experience with AKC Electric. My experience couldn't have been more positive. Keith and his son Ricky installed 4 ceiling fans, a dedicated 35W outlet in the garage, under cabinet LED lighting, over cabinet LED lighting, and all the dimmer switches expertly and efficiently. Prior to choosing AKC, I got 3 estimates. One was sky high, and the other was actually a few bucks less than AKC's estimate. But the reason I chose AKC over the other two was not the money, but the technician Keith. After talking with him, asking him questions, listening to his suggestions on how to efficiently and most inexpensively wire the LED lighting (that included 2 interrupted spaces), you just knew Keith was experienced and really understood electrical wiring. The two other guys didn't come off half as smart, had no suggestions on which LED strip lighting to choose, suggested way more complicated wiring that would have gone through the ceiling, blah, blah, blah. Keith was just smarter, hands down; definitely more ethical than at least one of the other guys, and very reasonable. He is exactly the kind of electrician everyone wants --- someone you can trust that he knows what he's doing, is ethical in that he will suggest the most economical way that is up to code, and is very reasonable.

We are disappointed with the customer service from AKC Electric. First, we hired [redacted] to repair an electrical switch and wire that wasn't working in our condo. That work was completed quickly, so I hired him to install 2 drop down lights, a new light fixture, and replace two light switches in our home (2-way to a 3-way). We agreed on a price of $275. The original time est. was about 3 hrs., but the job took him over 4 hrs which he wasn't happy about. He said he would have to return to replace the two light switches, since he didn't have the parts with him. To our surprise [redacted] said he would have to charge us an additional $125 in labor/parts to return and replace the two light switches (which cost $17 for both switches). We didn't understand why we were being charged additional labor for something that he should have brought with him when he did the original job. After many text messages and 2 months later, [redacted] finally returned to replace the two light switches and we agreed upon a price of $75 for labor and $17 for parts. We paid $75 that we shouldn't have had to pay. We also never received a receipt for any of the 3 jobs that were completed, but were promised several times that we would get a receipt via e-mail. I was also told that I would have 2 small holes in the vertical kitchen wall where the drop down lights were installed, but we now have a wire width 3 1/2" long vertical drywall patch

in our kitchen wall that needs to be re-painted. Overall, we feel we overpaid for the work that was done, never received a receipt for any of the work, and felt like [redacted] was irritated that he had to return to complete the work. He was also somewhat argumentative when I questioned him about leaving a 3 1/2' patch in the kitchen drywall. We would not recommend him to friends or family.
