Review: On May *, 2015, I hired Ali Akhtar (Akhtar Construction Concepts AKA NYC Local General Contractor Inc.) to install walls for a second bedroom in my Condo in Brooklyn. The agreed price was $7500 for the job which was subject to putting together a satisfactory proposal to be approved by the Condo Board. Ali promised several times that the proposal would be complete by a certain date and time and this was never done. I gave Ali a cash deposit of $3800. Since he was unable to performed the agreed services, we agreed to cancel the contract. I expected a full refund of $3800 but he only returned $2600 via check. Ali claims that $1200 was for expenses incurred for a 10 minute visit with electrician to my Condo. He has refused to itemize cost of $1200 for this 10 minute visit or alleged expenses. I believe I am a victim of consumer fraud. I want the rest of my $1200 deposit refunded for agreed upon services that Ali could not deliver.Desired Settlement: I want the rest of my $1200 deposit refunded for agreed upon services that Ali could not deliver.

Review: I hired ACCNYS, who came recommended by a friend, June or July of 2013 to repair from front porch, re-tile my balcony and install some ceiling fans. The job went well and in August of 2014, I contacted [redacted] and hired him again to cement my backyard and install a kitchen island. I asked him how much would that cost since I was not working but was contemplating selling the house and relocating. He quoted me $6,500 to do both which included labor and materials. He said he could do it in between his other jobs since it was an indoor job and the yard wouldn't take long but that he would need the money up front. I said ok. He even sent me his [redacted] routing and account number to deposit the funds into which I did on 8/**/14 and 8/**/14. On 8/**/14 he sent me a text that he needed to add a drain and it would cost me an additional $2,100.00. I informed him that I didn't have any more money to give him. He quoted me $6500 with labor and materials. The Week prior, the cement truck was scheduled for the Tuesday but it broke down, he didn't ask me for more money til that Friday and needed my approval to move forward. When I got home that Monday from school, the yard was done without my approval. After that, I couldn't reach him to finish the kitchen island. He avoided me for months, then when I asked for a refund for the kitchen island, he then stated that I had an outstanding balance. I informed him I never agreed to pay for that and never gave the approval. When he did pick up the phone, he would scream and yell at me. In January 2015, he agreed to refund my money but to give him until March [redacted] since the guys were not working due to the winter..because of my friend, I agreed. 3/** came and went and nothing.. then he said he would pay me by April [redacted] and now he's avoiding me.... I will pursue legal action but wanted to inform any and everyone, that this is his who [redacted] is. I don't have any money left after being unemployed over for over a year.. completely disgusted and still don't have my money.Desired Settlement: I want my $1300.00 plus pain and suffering. I was patient, tolerant and completely at his mercy because I was not working. I have copies of our text messages and emails and can prove that I paid him in full as requested.
