Review: On June 27th 2015, I contacted Akright Auto Wreckers to dispose of my 1999 Plymouth Voyager van, vin #[redacted]. I spoke with the owner and stated that the van does run however the coil pack had gone bad and apparently caused some damage in the process but the engine is indeed repairable but I just did not wish to deal with it. I did state that I had sold the hood, front bumper, radiator and heater core and that there are many usable parts which included the engine and transmission. The person whom purchased the heater core had disassembled most of the dash before I had seen what he was doing, but all of the parts were inside of the van. I was quoted a price of $100 and a wrecker was sent that afternoon within two hours of the initial call to pick up the van. The owner stated that he would send a check. On Thursday July 2nd 2015, I again called Akright as I had not yet received a check for payment of my van, the owner stated that he had not sent a payment as the van was all taken apart, of which I had already stated to him on the initial call and of which he already knew that fact, he stated that he could not call me as he did not have my number although this would have been in his phone id from the initial call, this was just an excuse as he had no intention of actually calling me. The owner stated that he changed his mind to $50 and would send the check the following day on Friday July 3rd. As of today October 27th 2015,I have not yet received a payment for my van, of which I do not believe the owner had any intention of sending a payment and feels that he is going to ignore me and get the van for free. The usable parts of the van have a value of over $1000. Not bothering to send me my $100 payment for my van would much be considered stealing.Desired Settlement: I want my initially quoted payment of $100 as the condition of the van was originally discussed and the change to $50 was just an excuse. Payment must be received no later than Thursday October 29th by 5pm. Otherwise I will post warnings for other constomers to avoid doing any business with this establishment as I am sure this situation with Akright occurs often. Other customers should be warned to not sell their vehicle to Akright nor purchase parts as their honesty is highly questionable.

In response to complaint #[redacted] regarding [redacted]'s 1999 Plymouth Voyager. [redacted] called to get a quote for scrapping his 1999 Plymouth Voyager. For full size vehicles at that time, we were paying $150 if vehicles were complete and delivered. We have a towing company (Riteway Auto) in Sheboygan who does all of our pickups if customers cannot get there vehicle to us for a fee of $50. [redacted] was quoted $100 on the phone because the vehicle needed to be picked up. [redacted] stated some front end parts were missing and that the dash had been ripped apart. It was stated, as long as everything was there, there would not be an issue. When the vehicle arrived, it was in much worse shape and missing many more parts then he originally stated. Here at Akright Auto, most of the "junkers" we buy do not get recycled for parts, but rather scrapped for metal (i.e. scrap metal, aluminum, cast steal, copper etc...). When the van arrived, it was missing the entire cooling system in the front, which is a portion what we sell off the vehicles we get. [redacted] was told, because the condition of the van was not stated accurately we could only pay him $50, not $100. [redacted] is correct, we have not sent him a check regarding the van, which is to our fault, we did not have his information. (we do not have caller ID on our phone system, so this was not an excuse to not contact him as stated in [redacted]'s complaint). I will gladly send [redacted] the $50 for the van now that I have his information. Here at Akright's we buy hundreds of cars, vans and trucks from people each year and make prompt payment and accurate quotes every time. This is the first time we have had an issue like this and intend on resolving it. If there is any other information needed, please let me know.
