Delivery SUCKS!
I have subscribed to the ABJ since I married in 1979...and my family since 1967! NOW, in my neighborhood of Firestone Park...I can't get my paper delivered on my porch! In the street, on driveway, even in my bushes...but not on my porch! I have tried calling, but get no one local to talk to...just India. And tho they apologize like mad, it changes nothing! I am disabled and cannot go down my front steps to the driveway or street to retrieve my paper! I guess older subscribers don't matter anymore!

Disappointed
Your articles regarding the murder of Ethan Liming are intolerable. They haven’t gone to trial yet and yet you’re summing it all up. It’s disgusting. Let the court of law and medical examiners inform us as to their findings. It’s as though you’re all-knowing and your finding the defendants innocent before their trial. I don’t even want to read your paper anymore.

WHERE ARE MY PAPERS???
I have subscribed to our local paper & am pre-paid upto February...but we cannot keep a carrier in this neighborhood! AND no one answers the phone...it's automated. Yesterday 12-29 & today 12-30 we had no paper! What is going on?

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 8, 2016/01/18) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
The response is highly satisfactory, except for the fact that I was never notified, by email or by phone message,of the 12/transfer of funds to my checking accountEven after my three later messages, were ignored !
Had I been properly informed, I would not have sent three more messages, and would not have contacted the Revdex.com -- in mid-January
Thank you Revdex.com, and thank you ABJ

*** *** was contacted by one of our field managers and customer agreed to continue service. She requested to be billed directly and not be part of our monthly auto withdrawal program. At this time we will improve delivery and customer will assess the improvement

Check number [redacted] was processed and mailed to Mr. B[redacted] on 7/15/2015. This was a manual check and had to be manually entered,...

unfortunately there was a keystroke error and it was sent to [redacted], instead of [redacted]. This check was returned to us today by the post office stating that [redacted] does not exist. We apologize for our error and will be voiding check [redacted] and reissuing a check in the amount of $40.00 on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, to be mailed to Mr. B[redacted] at [redacted].
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/07/29) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
It seems that all the responses that I get from the Akron Beacon Journal has to do with their errors and inept leadership. Since June 8th (nearly 2 months) all I have been offered is excuses. If this is part of the Akron Beacon Journals Core Values then I believe they need to be revisited. Therefore I do not accept or believe their response. I have heard to many times THE CHECK IS IN THE MAIL!
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/08/04) */
The customers desired resolution was to receive a $40.00 refund check, that check was mailed on 7/29/2015. At this point, not sure what else the customer would like from us, I will check to see if or when the check is cashed, although that could take weeks. We understand the customers frustration, and we were not giving him incorrect information when he contacted us, we didn't know of our error until the check was returned to us.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2015/08/10) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Well I finally got my deserved check today. After 2 months of waiting and having to resort to getting the Revdex.com involved. If it wasn't for them I know for a fact that I still would be waiting for resolution so I would like to say thank you to the Revdex.com. The Akron Beacon does not understand the word frustration or they would have fixed the problem with delivery and avoided all this wasted time and trouble with cancelation and refund issues. I was a customer for 30 years until my paper started to be delivered somewhere in the yard, bird bath or bushes and not in the box that they installed. So do not refer me as one of your customer. I find it totally unacceptable that I went two months for a resolution to this issue and had to get a third party involved without a phone call or some type of notification to their errors they said they were having. Even though I received the check to get MY money back (if it don't bounce)I still am not satisfied.
Regards,
Ex-Customer

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/03/01) */
We have stopped this customers' delivery effective 3/2/2016 and cleared any balance owed.

This customers issues have been resolved by the District Manager.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2016/02/05) */
We have attempted to contact [redacted] on several different occasions, to explain to her our billing processes, without success. We were aware that Ms. [redacted] did not understand her bill and tried to explain it to her on several different...

occasions prior to this complaint. We believe that Ms. [redacted] has been compensated correctly according to her contract with the Beacon Journal. We would be glad to explain further and go into more detail, if necessary.

We have contacted customer and will monitor delivery until the issue is resolved.  We have also credited the customers account for $3.60, 8 Saturday issues.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/12/10) */
We have been unable to contact this customer since the receipt of this complaint. We have instructed our field manager and our carrier to deliver the paper to the Akron Beacon Journal box each day. Please let us know if we need to provide any...

further information.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 7, 2015/12/11) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I disagree with the "unable to contact" statement. A message was left on December 10th stating a field manager was checking daily to make sure the paper was delivered and if there were any further questions to call them back. As far as the paper, so far it has been delivered every day and in the paper box every day. Hopefully this will continue.
