I am rejecting this response because:Dear Revdex.com Akron,Thank you very much in following up on this complaint and your efforts to get an amicable resolution
With regards to the response from Cleveland Clinic regarding this service, I find their response unsatisfactory for the following reasons.For the
medical service provided on 04/19/2018, Cleveland Clinic/Akron General has billed two separate invoicesThe first claim (Claim # ***, attached) was for the CT scan, for which a patient commitment of $has been paid in fullIn addition to this, there is a secondary charge of $(Claim # ***, attached), which has been insurance adjusted to 1,The claim pertains "hospital services", when this was an outpatient procedure lasting all of minutesNo other services were provided warranting this chargeIf there was, I would like an itemized bill saying what were the services provided that warranted such a huge charge.Fair pricing estimate for the above services from multiple of resources (*** *** * *** Bluebook attached) indicate that the pricing for this medical service can vary only between $- $prior to insurance adjustmentsEven Cleveland Clinic's own star imaging service, whose estimates are the highest among all service providers, estimates only a cost of $Hence, a $charge for the same service even with a claim of premium medical care is unconscionable.Regarding, getting estimates for the procedure ahead of time, I did check in with the customer service representative who signed me in before the procedure as to what would be the cost of medical service providedI was informed that It would be in the neighborhood of $200-but they was not sure what the charges would be until the insurance is run throughThe customer service representative even offered a 10% discount in patient responsibility, if paid prior to the service with a minimum due of $if opting for itHowever, not knowing what the final patient responsibility without insurance coverage was, I opted out of itAt best, Akron General/Cleveland Clinic was not fully forthcoming/misleading regards to the cost of service and at worst were deliberately misleading luring customers into a medical service without offering full picture of what their responsibility would be.Hence, I am not satisfied with the explanation or the "it is what it is" tone of response that has been providedI will also be filing an appeal with my insurance provider against this claim and any heavy handed tactics such as filing for collections regarding this disputed charge until a resolution is arrived at, will be challenged to the fullest extent of law.Thanks.Regards,*** ***

See file.)This letter is in response to Mr*** *** rebuttalThank you for forwarding back to the Financial Ombudsman Department for further review.I would like to again offer my sincere apology to Mr*** that my first response was unsatisfactoryAs the patient was informed when he initially inquired, the Clinic is contracted with the insurance company and insurance has negotiated in advance with CCF to make contractual adjustments to our prices on the policy holder’s behalf.I would like to reiterate that while we cannot adjust the balance of $1,569.25, nor can we change the pricingThe offer still stands of a 0% interest payment plan through Commerce Bank to lessen the financial burdenIf Mr*** accepts this offer or has any further questions, I would be happy to assist.In regard to the estimate provided to the patient, we emphasize estimate because a provider may perform additional services after initial evaluation which may result in higher cost than originally estimated.I have requested an itemized statement which will be mailed to the patient’s home addressI also want to confirm that Cleveland Clinic received a patient payment in the amount of $that posted to open balances on June 25th, Included on the itemized statement for date of service April 19th, patient payment was allocated in the amount of $to the outstanding charge $1,bringing the balance to $1,475.53.I understand per Mr***’s rebuttal he will be appealing the charges with his insurance, however; per Cleveland Clinic policy, we do not refund when there are outstanding balances due.?
