Review: I paid them $250.00 over the phone to polish one 6 ft side of my black granite and to fill in a tiny hole which they did. The side of the granite originally had a few swirl marks but otherwise was fairy shiny. There men came over and dry sanded upto a 3000 the area which left it nice and smooth but dull with no gloss. I asked them if it should be wet sanded with upto a 3000 and they made every excuse to not have to do it. It takes a little more elbow work to do but another local company said that is the only way to get the gloss back especially on a longer side. I called Akropolis again and waited a few weeks for their men to come back. I assumed they were going to wet sand this time but again no. They should know what the job requires if they are professionals. They did the same dry sanding again. They said after it was done that's the best they can do and sorry. All the other sides of my black granite are shiny so obviously that side can look the same. I called Akropolis back and [redacted] -part owner asked for photos of the side. I sent photos of the dull side they did and other shiny sides. She emails back "We are not going to be able to do anything else." The photos clearly showed the shiny sides compared to there dull side. I called the owner [redacted] and left a few messages with no return phone call. This is not a reputable granite company and obviously does not care if they do a bad job and have upset customers.Desired Settlement: Since they tried twice to dry polish the side of my granite which it only made the granite look dull and they do not want to wet sand it which it needs to create the gloss I would like a full refund to hire a different reputable company who know how to wet sand polish a 6ft side of black granite. I contacted [redacted] granite in [redacted] and they sent a man to my house who verified that the side of the granite needed to be wet sanded with upto a 3000 grit. Dry sanding can only get it smooth and on some lighter colors can create gloss but not on my black granite.

This letter is in regarding the service issue id # [redacted]. The customer called us and requested that we come out and try to polish the edge of a granite top that we Did Not install, normally we do not do service calls on jobs that we don’t install but, **. [redacted] kept insisting so we finally decided to do the service call. We went on job site and tried to polish the area where customer requested but, he was not happy. Customer was expecting a factory finish to be done on site. He called the office and said that he was not happy and that the service man we send out did not know how to do it. We scheduled another service with another service guy and he was not happy with him either, again trying to get a factory finish on site. We fried to explain to **. [redacted], that he could not get that, and to call the granite company that installed the granite in the first plaice but, he did not want to. At this point I feel that the $250.00 that he paid us was not even enough for the two trips that we went out to his home. He is very unreasonable customer, we are sorry that we even tried to help him in the first place.

[redacted] from Akropolis Marble lied. First when I paid my money over the phone I was never told they only fix countertops purchased from them. They gladly accepted my money. Second [redacted] claims they sent over a different person to fix the granite the second time. This is not true. There was another male with the same people that originally came to my house. This caucasian male simply observed the job the other guys who already did the job once was doing. The same guy did the same dry sanding which he did the first time. I explained that it had to be wet sanded to give black granite a gloss. They did not want to do the extra work involved. They had to hustle to their next job they told me. The company over schedules their repair men so they have to do things quickly.
