Review: To whom it may concern
[redacted] Inc. a fiberglass exterior entry door company has been utilizing Akzo Nobel coating product for several years now. We went to a order material from the [redacted] location the phone number was no longer in service. We found out through the internet that the [redacted] Plant had been shut down. So we contacted our salesman to find out where we needed to place the orders from. [redacted] stated that they closed the facility and they no longer would carry [redacted] products. We asked Salesmen if Akzo Nobel could provide us with one more large order so we could transition to another supplier and the Salesmen said no that they eliminated all the color formulations the [redacted] used. We received no notice of the Akzo Nobel facility closing nor that our products being discontinued? We pay our bills in a timely manner, and do not believe this was fair to a loyal customer of Akzo Nobel.
We are transitioning to [redacted] has a supplier but testing takes time before we can bring new product to market. We recommended Akzo Nobel has a supplier our customer we supply across North America for the 750,000 doors we produce annually. 98% of all our door product needs coated. We will no longer recommmend Akzo Nobel due to poor business practices. We had no issue with the Akzo Nobel product it is of a good quality. This situation could have all been avoided with a simple e-mail giving us some sort of notice that Akzo Nobel would not be supplying [redacted] any longer and give us an opportunity to react . To close a facility and not give any notice to [redacted] and other customers that there products would be discontinued when existing orders are due is unacceptable.

[redacted]Desired Settlement: We just need Akzo Nobel to supply [redacted] with a large transition order of material needed to supply our customers.? [redacted] is working with [redacted] to create a new product but testing for environmental exposure takes an excessive amount of time. I understand if it is a business decision to drop lower volume customers but notice is needed for the customer to transition to another supplier.
