Review: My husband went to this butcher shop yesterday and asked for ribeye steak. This is not something we have ever bought before but we have been told it is good for barbecuing. We would not normally be as extravagant as this but it was a special occasion. The butcher packed up the order and my husband paid $17.31. He was happy that he found halal ribeye as we had been to 2 other shops on this mall looking for it with no luck. We went to the park, lit the grill and put some of the meat on the grill at this point I said to my husband that the meat didn't look right, not that either of us would really know what ribeye should look like. I checked the label on the packaging and saw that it said veal chops. We finished cooking the meat on the grill and tried a little of it but it was not what we had wanted. So we wrapped the cooked meat in foil and took it along with the uncooked meat back to the butcher after our barbecue.when my husband took the meat to the owner of the shop she said she would give him $8 back. My husband was not happy with this as it was their mistake, they argued and the woman threw the meat on the floor. I went into the shop and tried to reason with the woman she said the butcher had just made a mistake and that if she went to a shop and asked for an orange and was given an apple she would not cook the apple then bring it back and complain! I told her that we would go to the police and she laughed, this made it obvious to me that she had been in similar situations before and that the police could do nothing. We went and found a policeman on [redacted] Pike but he said he could do nothing and that we should write to you. The owner of the shop plays on the fact that she is a little old lady and she will tell you that my husband was harassing her, but all my husband did was make a legitimate complaint, she threw the meat on the floor. My husband left to shop to calm down and went back 2 times to try and reason with her but she was rude and refused to give him a full refund.Desired Settlement: I have seen butchers in the shops on this mall take meat from the trash cans and give it to us. Also they pack meat and do not date it so you have no idea how long it has been there. These shop need to be checked to make sure that they don't make people sick. I am writing this on behalf of my husband because my English is more fluent than his. Sorry to make the complaint so long but we want you to have all the facts. We would like a refund of $17.31 and for these shops to be monitored.
